My pre-emptive condolences. I remember when i first found out that some americans don't make their houses out of brick and mortar and my jaw just dropped and it never recovered. Then i realized you can't hide behind any walls in case someone drives up and empties a gun mag and then the deaths by guns in cities started making even more sense.
The worst part is I live in a very windy area. So whenever it picks up, it feels like the whole house of cards is about to collapse.

You're welcome. One day, you might also enjoy the full safety of a brick home anon. It's something that offers you deep sleep and more importantly, restful sleep, knowing you're safe in a sturdy box that can't get opened by anyone but you, it just takes your mind off of everything else.
It's pretty bad in a serious earthquake though, because you get buried alive or squished like a bug, so don't feel too bad about your plywood tent. But outside of earthquakes that may or may not happen every 100 years where i live, it's pretty swell.
