Wrong, data hoarders are based, everyone laughs at stuff being easily accessible online until it suddenly isn't. They have the good kind of OCD

Data hoarding starts the moment you download / install anything you have no intention of *immediately* engaging with. Redditors love data hoarding because it helps them avoid hoarding IRL.

I recently watched a shitty show because i had to see it for myself, what they did to it and i had to know its evil in detail so that i could post about it knowingly.

To be fair, I also sometimes check out shows just to decide for myself if its really as bad as people say.
Last show I watched like that was the Lord of the Rings TV show and holy shit I was actually surprised that it was worse than I ever anticipated.
Do it with vidya too. I once tried YIIK out because of the massive shilling and shit talk when it released and it still feels like a fever dream and not a real game someone actually made.

Maybe there is a point to hatewatching or even hateplaying.
If creating media with the intention to please, displeases then maybe creating media with the express intention to displease can be a success.

Yeah that's an interesting view. Quite possible. Art (and I don't want to open THAT can of worms here) can also be successful if the only emotion they evoke is anger for example. Just like some characters' purpose is to evoke anger from the viewer (King Jeoffrey from Game of Thrones for example, and they succeeded).
The difference could thus become the intention of the creator. Going with my earlier example, I do not think Amazon wanted the LotR show to evoke anger on purpose. So I'd say it's a failed project.

All I'll say is, if you really need to use pirated software, there's probably a free or open source version that can do the same.
Unless it's some CAD software or something industrial but with that the risk of a major country with glowies sneaking in malware is high.
So it really depends on the software, You think someone who just uploaded random pirating content for a year with 1 bot is really trustworthy? Now if it's something adobe workshop you'd probably be safe.

One issue why you might want to pirate things like Photoshop is because certain features are patented and legally can't be replicated in other software without some jank workaround to make it technically not the same feature

whats the point of downloading movies in general anyway? i always watch moves and series online and every websites has their uploads on more different streaming sources to avoid the problem that could come from one streamed video being deleted
i never had much problem with that in my entire life although i alway found online source for a movie i wanted to watch

My Jellyfin server has over 300 movies and some amount of TV shows. I don't pirate video games they are too garbage for the effort..

Higher quality video, archival purposes, not dealing with shady websites that go up and down routinely. Piracy is easily automated these days so if I have the storage space and means why wouldn't I pirate? Costs me 40 bucks a year for a VPN to get way more content than any Netflix or CompanyPlus service would give me and with programs like Sonarr/Radarr I don't have to do shit other than type in the show or movie I want and let it go.

    >all that shit pirated
    >but don't ask what he's gonna do with it
I download what I need (or sometimes may need), not what looks shiny. hoarders are chaotic good, and I respect it but it's not something to brag about

Fair, but we need to acknowledge he was specifically bragging to other hoarders.

            >brag about stuff only (You) care about, basically has zero value to that individual except whatever value they give it
Don't get me wrong, I think hoarders are (chaotic) good, but it still doesn't change the fact that they're hoarding useless stuff. do you hoard all cans and bottles you drink out of? why not and why aren't you bragging about it
also the other guy proving my point that they're just farming replies

and what value does it have if it rots on a hard drive?
imagine implying *hoarders* (look up the word, mouthbreather) actually do something useful with what they hoard

                >normie

they're like samples of various instruments making sounds, not music per se

also why would I ever want to use spotify when it takes 12 seconds to convert a youtube video to an mp3? Also, spotify doesn't have a shitload of music I listen to. Plus theres a bunch of foreign music that I couldn't type into the search bar so I'd have to email the title of it to myself or log into spotify in my browser like a moron. It just doesnt make practical sense.

Why rely on a third party when you can directly possess your music? and it's not like everyone has 700gb like previous anon, but even those would rather own it personally.
