I feel that Morrowind has better gameplay than Oblivion and Skyrim. I don't care how crazy that seems, the character building in Morrowind feels so much stronger that it feels like a much better RPG to me. It doesn't have level scaling either so your character feels satisfying to play once you get past a certain threshold.
There is certainly an audience for the porting table top rulesets into video games. It is not a universal opinion.
The combat in MW has a lot more feeling of impact than the floppy rubber bat fights in Oblivion and Skyrim, and the magic feels stronger too.

I'm playing Morrowind for the first time now (I played Skyrim as the first one in 2011). It took a while to get going, but I'm having fun. About 50 hours played and I have half of the map explored.
My fellow youngster I too played Skyrim first tge Morrowind. Now just thinking about Skyrim makes me physically ill. Morrowind is just that good and even now I am weeping as I genuflect at the perfection of Morrowind.

You'll want any sort of spellpack that gives you support spells. You're a bit limited in what you can get because you can't do MWSE mods, so you'd want to focus more on content mods. Morrowind Rebirth's okay if you're looking for a vaguely fresh experience, for example.
