The netcode and design flow of online matches is atrocious for a modern fighter. Match with someone, pick character, pick cameo, wait for vs screen, watch character clash intro, watch which side wins the clash, watch back and forth quips as everyone gets into place, round 1, FIGHT.
Like nobody wants to sit through all that only for matches to end in two 50% combos from your basic bnb setups.
Just play kombat league.

This wouldn't be nearly as much of an issue if combo breakers weren't tied not only to kameos, but to your fricking meter.
You need a FULL METER to break a single combo. That's fricking nuts to me. I've watched a few tournaments where one player's lost simply because they chose to use their meter on an enhanced move rather than just sitting on it to use it as a combo breaker.
The meta is 100% going to be never using enhanced moves. Your meter is only there to show you when you have a combo breaker available.

It's not like when Soulcalibur got a second wind by adding 2b. I can't imagine people are going to be flocking to MK1 in mid 2024 for frickin Homelander.

I agree. This is the first time since 9 that the actual fighting part is very fun. I'm having a good time just doing the fighting. It's janky, but fun.
The issue is, no other part of the presentation is fun.
Character designs are the worst they've ever been, the game's lacking personality in weird places (no Shao taunts?), and the story just feels off, and goes completely off the rails in the second half.

As someone who wasn't around when MK11 released, is the Haviktitan story expansion the "Aftermath" to this game? It's already been leaked. Can we expect more or will this be it? In MK11 the aftermath expansion was the only story expansion.
