Mortal Kombat RPG

So I've made threads about this in the past & its still a bit of a heartbreaker for me. I figure the new game might have people thinking more about it.

What's a good RPG system (not fungshui or gurps) for an MK themed game? Not tournament based, just a party of Outworlders, Earthrealmers, & such having adventures & intrigues in the setting. Like a couple of Lin Kuei warriors, a Tarkatan, & a special ops Earthrealmer walk into a tea house, to talk to a sorcerer about finding artifacts in an old Edenian ruin.

I was considering Genesys or Savage Worlds maybe

It's a fricking fantastic setting for an RPG and fits great with the murderhobo tendencies of the average party, damn shame Warner seems uninterested in traditional games.

Right? It's got huge expansive exotic worlds & its built & run by murderhobos. Have a problem with a dude over any little thing? FIGHT!

Why not? Feng Shui is probably the most fitting option

It has no depth & ridged archetypes

I had plenty of depth for running something based on a game that literally only involves a single activity, and the archtypes cover everything you'd need.

Nah, I don't want to recreate just the game, I want to run a whole bunch of adventures in the game FengShit is only good for one shots limited to Hong Kong kung fu tropes

          >No, the game that is all about magic kung fu is a terrible match for my game all about magic kung fu!

          You're an idiot.

Might be a bit picky but I just fricking hate that when I ask for a system for playing in a world inspired by a fighting game, but that I want to do more than just fight in, all I get is fighting game recs. Anyway, I'm going with SWADE

I'm going to suggest HERO system because the Kombat is deep enough to really get into, you can build whatever weird stuff you want from Tarkatan arm blades to Ermac's telekinesis and Shang Tsung's shapeshifting (moveset included) or Stryker's power of gun. As well it solves your rigid archetypes problem because you can point buy your way to anything. As a bonus you can do Injustice incredibly easily.

Dungeons the Dragoning 40k 7e. Sure it's a joke game but so well done it's actually playable. Look on their website for a ton of extra material, you can just make most Sword Schools apply to unarmed if you really want and build your own styles and special attacks.
The only issues I've ever had is that the bestiary is hard pressed to challenge even a low level party let alone once they get more skills and abilities so be ready to write your own, and then exploding dice can result in the party making a cakewalk of something you expected to at least slow them down a bit, but that's how critical success works in the system.

Honestly, a superhero system like Mutants & Masterminds seems like it would be the best at modeling the insane kitchen-sink array of powers seen in MK media, while also allowing all the PCs to stay at roughly the same power level.

I want something with some nuance so it's not just battles, but not too crunchy. I feel like if you have to think too hard about your donut steel ninja character's powers & abilities it looses its way.

      Could

Fight! The Fighting Game RPG is literally built for this, if you don't mind getting meta with FGC mechanics.

There is only one answer, but since you are a huge picky homosexual who keeps disregarding each and every good suggestion you are given, I don't know why I bother. The system you are looking for is "Fight!", pic related. Now kindly frick off.

give me a quick rundown of how this system works? I heard it was Street Fighter with the serial number filled off.

well onaga is mentioned in some of the endings of mortal kombat 1, but no mention of the one being as far as i can see :/

which is extra weird because we see a universe being created
