Sonic Boom had the best Amy and Sticks. Sonic and Knuckles are debatable but in the context of the show they were great.

I actually agree with this. Amy is such a boring character now in Frontiers and Dream Team. At least Boom Amy was funny and still had hints of her Sonic obsession instead of completely cutting it out. It just wasn't overbearing like the 2000's games.

Sticks is the second comic relief character, behind Knuckles. She's also 100% new (coming from the Boom universe).
Everyone in the show hates Amy and Amy's whole thing is being a borderline Karen who wants to host therapy sessions and let people talk about their feelings. Sonic regularly shits on her for being boring, like with the 'Don't do anything I wouldn't do!' 'I thought you said we should have fun?' exchange in the roadtrip episode.

you completely misread the show. everybody on the team loves Amy but they're also irreverent teenagers and emotionally immature, so they view someone being responsible as being boring. also, you don't know what a Karen is
Tons of episodes have the main cast tolerating Amy's bullshit, but with comical sighs and hidden annoyance. Sonic will always come to save her, and he has his 'I can't admit it, but I have a crush on you' thing, but Amy's thing in the show is being the 'buckle your seatbelts, kids' mom-type that people just have to politely tolerate. She's also a control freak in the series and that comes up every so often.
