Most of the tasks are impossible to do without a guide. This is a horrible game design

I will concede that some in tooie are stupid but you don't 'need' a guide
obvious bait
could you be specific?
I 100%'d both games before reaching double digit age, without a guide
git gud
The entire series is full of horrible game design. That's why Banjo was never good.
If you think about it back in the day we didnt have indie devs and we had few choices so we got what we had and games were limited in choice so even turds were seen as goat.
Give some examples
Kazooie was intuitive and fun. Lightning in a bottle that was. You only needed a guide if you were moronic or wanted that sweet sweet Prima players guide. Tooie on the other hand was awful. Dour levels, cynical writing, levels that were big and empty. Yeah, bad level design in tooie for sure
Easily solved by pic related.
Play mario or zelda they are worse. Some Times your just sitting there doing nothing bit aimlessly walking around
this is the least heterosexual thread on Ganker right now.
And that's saying a lot.
noggers theres fricking troon threads what are you on about
Man, don't even try a zelda game.
Tooie has its moments like getting into Grunty Industries, but Kazooie's pretty damn intuitive.
I thought that one was pretty clever.
Can't get in. Only thing you can do is press a button that opens the train station inside.
Reminds me of the bird puzzle in ALTTP to reach Dungeon 6. Arguably more fair even.
Banjo kazooie was really simple and fun honestly. The beach level where you fly around always seemed bigger as a kid compared to when I played it as an adult. Banjo tooie falls into the trap of trying to be like a parody of itself, to where they just layered too much bullshit on top of the core design.
Am I the only one that got filtered by the part where you have to use the pumpkin transformation to raise the water level in Grunty's Lair? Took me ages to unlock Rusty Bucket Bay or anything beyond that point, I was legit stuck for a while.
It's ok anon I was blocked by it too. I never thought to take the transformation out of the level for actual progression
I never used a guide on 1. Never got to fully play 2 enough.
You know what game in the last fricking decade has actually made me search a guide? Fricking Megaman Battle Network 1.
Tooie bad kazooie good
I finished both without guides back when they released, nothing in the games felt like stuff you couldn't figure out yourself. Only game from that era I had trouble with was OoT and just the Water Temple.
I was stuck for like a week in OoT trying to find the hookshot because nothing ever tells you that you can pull the gravestones.
>getting filtered by games made for children
Ganker parrots the most boring opinions, I swear.
>you got outsmarted by a moronic 8 year old kid that didn't even understand english (me)
1/10 made me reply
>pc "port" for OoT
>pc "port" for jak & daxter
>no pc "port" for BK
Why?
>oot
Significantly larger following to warrant the extra manpower used to decompile
>jak and daxter
The language they were written in is (relatively) easy to decompile
I feel like the shitting on classic N64 collections hate brigade began in the mid 2010s by zoomer redditors jealous of millenial childhoods
At least people have stopped shitting on DKC, which was all the rage in the 2000s.
>Raging on DKC
Why? The game is one of the most solid platformers ever made and holds up even today. The only people I don't see enjoying it are those who hate platformers and bad-faith contrarians.
bros
I want to make a BK style game. Should I bother?
I buy all these on steam but no one else seems to
Name em.
Tooie is a perfect example of why player characters shouldn't retain moves learned in the last game.
