Most of you aren't old enough to remember when Battlefield was actually good.

Most of this are too old to actually have fun like Palworld
palworld is maybe my fav retro game
it'll live on in my heart
kys consoleBlack person
>implying it was ever good
1942 and Bad Company 2 are the only good ones.
1942 with 64 players(some servers had 128 players), a shit load of vehicles and maps, and some of the greatest mods ever like Desert Combat, Eve Of Destruction, Forgotten Hope, and Star Wars Galactic Conquest.
Bad Company 2 for the overall fun factor. The environment destruction and the sound was fantastic.
Nah, Vietnam was great too.
2 and 2142 were very good.
3 beta was decent, full game sucked, haven't played since then.
Peak BF was BC2, BF3 and BF4(Before they listened to screaming vehicle Black folk crying about getting blown up in game.).
>BC2
Bad company was a fun game, but it has almost nothing from battlefield formula and was responsible for bad trend in future battlefield games
BC2 had many good features that could have been improved upon. DICE doesn't understand what make BC2 good even though they made the game themselves though. However, DICE wants to please the pre-BC fans as well so they threw away a lot of what made BC2 great.
For me it's 1942 and desert combat mod. I logged in just to grief people.
>desert combat mod
damn
ENTER
Peak BF
A remaster would be great
>camp gibraltar
>intentionally spawn at the 2nd flag
>spam the chokepoint with motion mines to cuck jeeps rushing in to back cap
good times
2042 felt like a spit in the face for anyone who enjoyed this
>thought it was a successor to 2142
>see the absolute state of the game at launch
yeah
BF2 was the only good BF.
Frick 1942,1943,2142,3,4,5,1,HL,2042,Vietnam all slop.
BC series wasn't included because those piles of shit are just call of duty with vehicles.
I'm old af and I never played a single Battlefield game
Bc2 was the last good battlefield game. I was so excited for battlefield 3 and it was the last game I ever preordered. Biggest disappointment of my life. I don't get how people liked any battlefield made after 2011. Every battlefield game since Bc2 has lacked soul
Kids don't know about my jetpacks
shut up you fricking Black person bf Vietnam was the best classic battlefield, 1942 and 2 were cool as well after that the series took a huge nosedive
>launch game
>Fortunate Son starts playing in opening cutscene
>vehicles had licensed tracks you could play through the radio
Vietnam was a great one, it was my favorite BF as well.
I'm a zoomer and I grew up on this game because I lived in a place with shit internet, was not allowed any vidya consoles, and had to rummage through boxes of my brother's old things looking for game disks to play on a shitty laptop I shared with my whole family. It was mainly this disk and pirated halo custom edition. Never was able to get bf2042 to work because of some annoying error message at the login screen.
I tried playing it a few years ago and it was just some Arabian voice shrieking nonstop in my ear so I quit
Call me filtered but how the frick did you play that
I actually do remember battlefield 2. The thing I remember the most is the garbage gunplay and hit registration being a coinflip.
Gen x "boomer" here. Ignore oldgays who are trynna dunk on you for having fun and being young.
IMHO, Battlefield was good mostly depending upon the player base, mods, and which expansion you played - on and off, all the way up to bf1's ttk patch. It stopped being good then because the decrease in ttk pushed it further towards a twitch shooter, and further away from being about positioning and tactical decisions.
Also, because during the entire run of bf1 ea never bothered to fix the rampant cheating problems.
But if you like the newer stuff, I'm glad you do, and hope you have fun.
Anyone who acts like anything newer than 2 sucked is a dickhead who is just trying to insult you for being younger than them, which is stupid cos we all age, and we were all young once.
Every entry has had issues, but for me, the ratio of issues to cool experiences has just tipped too far in the former's favour in the newer entries. Acting like any one entry was perfect is being will fully ignorant.
ENEMY SUBMARINE SPOTTED
>pic related comes out
>go to a LAN
>never played before
>hey bros i'll pilot let's go get em
>like 6 dudes hop into the plane and we take off
>realize i am an awful pilot
>going to hit the mountain
>no one knew what the default bind for the parachute was (it was like 9 or some shit lol)
>we all die
battlefield was so fun
>actually being able to have 'Nam music playing over the radio ingame while riding in a chopper
I was way too young to appreciate this game
this but someone was airlifted in a tank bellow the chopper blasting anything it could while Surfin' Bird was playing
I remember Battlefield 1942 vividly, and I'm struggling to remember a time when the franchise was good.
I remember
>thanks to EA
I feel old
>You'll never join server to to see another carrier stuck in the middle of the map again
shit I am OLD
you're right, I'm 35 and don't remember battlefield being good
Modern Combat on PS2 was the only good BF game and it was only good on Bridge too Far and sometimes Backstab.
im old enough to remember when everything was good
I still vividly remember being at a cyber cafe with my friends and being put into the opposite team on BF2. I ended up finding their squad and posting up on a hill and just unloading on them, killing all four of my friends. Why I remember that shit nearly twenty years later absolutely boggles the mind, but I sure as hell miss those days.
I remember thinking these ingame trailers showing shit that could actually happen in the game was the coolest shit ever
