The cutscense make it the most memorable out of all the Megaman games barring X4.
I wish people could understand how 90's dubbing made things that would initially be forgettable into gold.
The snowboarding is the most tolerable vehicle segment in any Mega Man game because the obstacles are telegraphed. Compare it to X5 where there's an immediate bottomless pit before the "ready" text can disappear
I still have nightmares of doing this stage on the gamecube anniversary collection hearing JUMP JUMP SLIDE JUMP while having to put in the inputs a full business week ahead of time
>and it wasnt like it hard
completely wrong
the stage was insane for a novice to do
and your pretty much locked into going frost man first since his weapon is really good vs tengu man and you need tengu man to beat clown man easy
>and your pretty much locked into going frost man first
no you arent. grenade man is an easier boss than frost man is
Honestly the soundtrack is one of the best in my opinion.
it pisses me off that the saturn version has all these crazy extras added that the psx version doesnt, but when it comes time to port them, its always the psx version. i mean its the game that im most familiar with, but i want to beat wood man and cut mans asses
whatever homie me and my roll dicky dont need plebs
i know it didnt sell well on the psp, but i wish capcom would have continued the power up series on the 3ds
>and it wasnt like it hard
completely wrong
the stage was insane for a novice to do
and your pretty much locked into going frost man first since his weapon is really good vs tengu man and you need tengu man to beat clown man easy
I honestly think the NA opening of 8 fits the game more than Electrical Communication. But that's not to say that it isn't probably the best intro theme in the Megaman series.
yeah it's so soulful you can't even pick from 8 bosses at the start. Absolute fricking joke of a franchise that they let hardware limitations neuter one of the core aspects of the series.
MM7 did it on the snes too, and while it's not considered a great game by a lot of people too, a lot of that has to do with being a later game on the snes while also being inferior in every way to the X games.
There's nothing wrong with only four selectable bosses for the first half and another for the second half, it allows for better designed stages that really let you take advantage of special weapons they know you have instead of being forced to design every single stage under the assumption that you have nothing yet.
I like how the World map is the actual earth, I know megaman is based on the real world but I like to see were robot máster is from, I think grenademan is from my country
I loved how stages were all unique and sometimes like how Tengu man's stage had a little shmup section. The failure of this game turned the franchise into a boring trudge down familiarity. Same with X7.
i love x7 too. why do people hate it? i love when a 2d game has 3d parts that shit is cool i love that shit. yeah it wasn't perfectly executed but it was a unique experience to this day outside of meme indie games who's whole game play mechanic is the gimmick from (1) stage
megachads just ate so fricking good for so long that they just can't stand a "passable" "ok" game
It's... a thing alright!
Well it's a lot better than >all the robots are catching the robot cold? take my robot cold medicine program that totally wont turn robots rogue! even though I've tried to take over the world and deceive everyone countless times, I'm totally trustworthy THIS time! >why yes I did create the robot cold to advance my plot to take over the world, how could you tell?
>every single level sucks, >all the bosses are lame, >the cutscenes are only good because they are so bad its funny, >easy as frick.
the only thing this pile of dogshit has going for it is graphics, one of the worst games in the entire franchise and byfar the worst classic game
The snowboard sections are fine on both systems. If you're having trouble, you can cheese them with the Mega Ball jumping trick
Was Cutman and Woodman a decent addition?
I like them, but I really wish you could gain their powers after killing them.
Is there any differences with mmx4 than the ps1 version?
MMX4 on Saturn has a heatwave effect in the Opening Stage's second half and Magma Dragoon stage, as well as fully looping background music as opposed to the "stop, reset, restart" method the PS1's BGM used.
With the Mega Ball equipped, you can spawn it and immediately collide with it at the peak of your jump to get a pseudo "double jump". You can chain them together as long as you have ammo for the MB. This works on both versions of the game.
>I like them, but I really wish you could gain their powers after killing them.
Yeah it would be nice. Actually it makes me kind of wish we had another Wily Wars to mix all the copy abilities.
If we got a sequel that deeped the score attack focus the gameplay was going for I would agree.
As it is its just barely there for me, not bad but not great.
I remember I was maybe 5 years old when this came out. I was super excited to see what Mega Man 9 would be cause this game looked very next gen to me with the new sprites and colors. Instead it took like 20 fricking years for a sequel to come out and it 8 bit cause LOL retro XD
Instrumentation is fricking dogshit.
Frick jazzy smooth shit like mm8 and mm11.
Some of the melodies are actually good, but the instrumentation fricking ruins everything.
Nothing can top the classic OST's
One of the main reasons i couldn't bring myself to keep playing MM11 was the shit soundtrack.
megaman 8 aged like the finest wine.
peak beautiful sprites
great music
tight gameplay that forces you to git gud but is completely fair
hilarious how it is rated so poorly
we all know they just got filtered by frostmans stage
The cutscenes were awful
The cutscense make it the most memorable out of all the Megaman games barring X4.
I wish people could understand how 90's dubbing made things that would initially be forgettable into gold.
>we all know they just got filtered by frostmans stage
it really is just this. and it wasnt like it hard
The snowboarding is the most tolerable vehicle segment in any Mega Man game because the obstacles are telegraphed. Compare it to X5 where there's an immediate bottomless pit before the "ready" text can disappear
>meanwhile, wily stage 1
I never fricking beat that stage
I still have nightmares of doing this stage on the gamecube anniversary collection hearing JUMP JUMP SLIDE JUMP while having to put in the inputs a full business week ahead of time
>and it wasnt like it hard
completely wrong
the stage was insane for a novice to do
and your pretty much locked into going frost man first since his weapon is really good vs tengu man and you need tengu man to beat clown man easy
Wait I've always done clown man first because he's so damn easy with the buster.
>locked into going frost man first
wat
I've always done tenguman first.
if you hit tenguman with frostwave he gets grounded and can't fly
I did Grenade Man first, didn't find anything in his stage or GM himself to be much of a threat.
>and your pretty much locked into going frost man first
no you arent. grenade man is an easier boss than frost man is
it pisses me off that the saturn version has all these crazy extras added that the psx version doesnt, but when it comes time to port them, its always the psx version. i mean its the game that im most familiar with, but i want to beat wood man and cut mans asses
i know it didnt sell well on the psp, but i wish capcom would have continued the power up series on the 3ds
If I recall the Saturn is still a b***h and a half to emulate.
Shame, saturn is underrated as a console especially with the rpg gems that never got brought overseas
>crying about frostman
Its Dr.Wily Stage 1 thats the real problem.
Jump, Jump, Slide, Slide!
mm7 was soul, mm8 is slop
>dude dr wahwee w-megaman LMAO
megaman 8 and the ps1 x games were pure soul
i hope the homeless elmer fudd impersonator they paid a ham sandwich for the role is ok
8 is full of legit jams
Honestly the soundtrack is one of the best in my opinion.
I honestly think the NA opening of 8 fits the game more than Electrical Communication. But that's not to say that it isn't probably the best intro theme in the Megaman series.
I liked it but then again it was my first meygahmen
I loved the Roll design from this era of Megaman, sure 11's isn't bad but it's hard to improve upon perfection.
> most soulful
yeah it's so soulful you can't even pick from 8 bosses at the start. Absolute fricking joke of a franchise that they let hardware limitations neuter one of the core aspects of the series.
How is that hardware’s fault? They just wanted a more natural difficulty increase.
MUAHAHAHA THE WORLD IS MINE
I like how the World map is the actual earth, I know megaman is based on the real world but I like to see were robot máster is from, I think grenademan is from my country
>best Zero games only let you pick 4 bosses at a time
>....
>Megaman 8 does it
>AAAAAAAAAAAA IT'S SHIIIIIIIT
I loved how stages were all unique and sometimes like how Tengu man's stage had a little shmup section. The failure of this game turned the franchise into a boring trudge down familiarity. Same with X7.

megachads just ate so fricking good for so long that they just can't stand a "passable" "ok" game
This game is so awful that it's not worth talking to someone stupid enough to like it.
One thing I dont like is how bad the upgrades are, in 7 and megaman and bass the upgrades werw super fun and usefull
My dude, the one and only Search Man, in the house.
Here's the big question.
Do we like Duo and the Evil Energy plot?
I know I did.
A better question, are you gay or a woman? And no this is not rhetorical.
All the MM 8 plot felt like a 80's Saturday cartoon, doesn't mean I didn't like it, I think CAPCOM just didn't want to complicate things.
It's... a thing alright!
Well it's a lot better than
>all the robots are catching the robot cold? take my robot cold medicine program that totally wont turn robots rogue! even though I've tried to take over the world and deceive everyone countless times, I'm totally trustworthy THIS time!
>why yes I did create the robot cold to advance my plot to take over the world, how could you tell?
serious question how can a robot go super saiyan
duo was an ayylmao not just a robit
Made a cameo in megaman and bass and then went back to his home planet
How has no one posted it yet?
Brings me back to picking this and Wild ARMS with our new Playstation so many years ago. Time flies, but it's alright.
>cutman and woodman are still a sega saturn exclusive to this day
god damn
>every single level sucks,
>all the bosses are lame,
>the cutscenes are only good because they are so bad its funny,
>easy as frick.
the only thing this pile of dogshit has going for it is graphics, one of the worst games in the entire franchise and byfar the worst classic game
sorry but your just wrong on all accounts
i just played all the classic games and 8 is the best by far
well my post is only for people with taste, I didn't account for low iq monkeymen sorry i'll take you into consideration next time
whatever homie me and my roll dicky dont need plebs
I own the U.S. Saturn versions of both MM8 and MMX4.
Ask me anything about those versions of the game.
how do you feel about the snowboard sections and are they the same on each title
The snowboard sections are fine on both systems. If you're having trouble, you can cheese them with the Mega Ball jumping trick
I like them, but I really wish you could gain their powers after killing them.
MMX4 on Saturn has a heatwave effect in the Opening Stage's second half and Magma Dragoon stage, as well as fully looping background music as opposed to the "stop, reset, restart" method the PS1's BGM used.
does the PC port of MMX4 have the heatwave effect and proper looping music?
No, and to my knowledge there are no mods for it either.
>Mega Ball jumping trick
the what?
With the Mega Ball equipped, you can spawn it and immediately collide with it at the peak of your jump to get a pseudo "double jump". You can chain them together as long as you have ammo for the MB. This works on both versions of the game.
>I like them, but I really wish you could gain their powers after killing them.
Yeah it would be nice. Actually it makes me kind of wish we had another Wily Wars to mix all the copy abilities.
We just need another Wily Wars in general. Give us 4, 5, and 6 as a Wily Wars.
ZAMN DR.LIGHT BUSSIN???
https://woodfrog.itch.io/mega-man-the-sequel-wars-episode-red
Was Cutman and Woodman a decent addition?
Is there any differences with mmx4 than the ps1 version?
The most soulful is clearly Mighty No. 9 Prove me wrong.
If we got a sequel that deeped the score attack focus the gameplay was going for I would agree.
As it is its just barely there for me, not bad but not great.
It hurts to know that my wife is trapped in such a shit game.
I remember I was maybe 5 years old when this came out. I was super excited to see what Mega Man 9 would be cause this game looked very next gen to me with the new sprites and colors. Instead it took like 20 fricking years for a sequel to come out and it 8 bit cause LOL retro XD
>soul comes at the expense of level design and challenge
I think I get it now. "Soul' is just for people who don't actually play video games
>people that like mm8 and mm11 soundtracks
Go ahead and tell me this song sucks. I fricking dare you.
Even if you don't like 8, saying its ost is bad is full moron.
>Megaman X Dive Offline
I'm still mad.
