I wouldn't have minded that so much but the fact that they shilled this shitty game for a half a month with their weekly twitch streams, showcasing mechanics and other shit that either wasn't there in the game, or had zero impact on the gameplay itself, like for example how factions do not matter in this game outside very minor differences in combat.

I don't think anyone would disagree that outside of the big budget main story missions, the gameplay is very average. But just like with Witcher 3, that's not why so many people love the game. They love the characters, the story and immersing themselves in a believable fantassy world. The last part is amplified in Cyberpunk because even if the city doesn't have much of substance to do and the AI makes it feel dead when you get too close to it, in terms of the scope, the detail and design it delivered the cyberpunk world it promised when it comes to visuals.
It's just a shame that even though everything is so finely detailed, you end up only engaging with 25% of it. An aesthetic, detailed cyberpunk alleyway does not exist if the game gives you no reason to go there.
So the game is shit, except for cg movie in it (which is actuality shit too).

I've yet to even play the game to completion, I want to do all the side quests before I finish the main quest. I started as a nomad, but I'll also do streetkid and corpo runs.

I've played the game for 55 hours thus far, I went in without expectations, I wasn't predisposed to hate it nor love it, I enjoyed it because it's a genuinely good game, the world immerses you immediately, sound design is perfect, the storytelling is executed better than most games with pure story focus out there, combat is kind of average FPS gameplay with some variety with the cybernetics, power/tech/smart weapons and the skilltree. There is no other game like it, nothing fills the same niche it does.

Human Revolution is a piss-filtered linear detective game. I intend to finish it one day, but I didn't feel like continuing it after an 8 hour playsession.
both games don't feel similar in the least, HR's dialogue is cartoony and they treat your main character like a god, the world revolves around you and it doesn't feel genuine, in CP2077 you choose your path and you actually live it, fleshing out the characters and locations around you and it all feels like it leads into something, rather than being their own separate entities.
I agree that this is the different experience to play it and to watch. But you still watching at the same game either way. Even if its stuff like tetris, you still know what the experience would be, just by watching it in someone else's hands. Its not like you 5 yours old with no life experience. Especially when we talk about hobby shit you already immersed into, like video games.

Sure you did and I played on PC. Ever tried crafting? How you need to click and press a button for 2-3 seconds for every single component. Salvaging stuff becomes a fricking chore.

I enjoyed the game even at launch with all the bugs. The game's good, the problem is it was too buggy for most and the console versions were outright hell to try and play. Another couple problems was they promised way too much and cut way too much of what they initially promised, and then people overhyped the FRICK out of the game to such a degree that no matter how the game released people would be disappointed by it.
I actually liked how ridiculous the bugs were sometimes. I wish I didn't have to mod the k-hop back in.

Open world usually implies some level of sandbox at some point, even the open endedness of tackling optional challenges laid through out breath of the wild was at least something to offer the player playing in the sandbox that is the Open world Genre.

I played it two months ago and it is an okayish Eurojank game for like 20€ tops. I would not pay more than that.

It's shit. Even after all the fixes it still a very shallow GTA clone with no shit to do when you beat the story. It's a shame they made this amazing big city and you have nothing to do there but same stupid side missions "go kill a bunch of enemies". There is no minigames, no hidden stuff to find, no interesting loot to search for, no collectibles fricking nothing. Its just a big ass map with a couple of quests in it.

1.5 pretty much fixed the game, the real reason is because the game was utterly broken on consoles, and since 80% of Ganker are console shitters thr place had a melt down, it should've never released on the last generation of consoles to begin with.

The other dude is right. I played it on a decent PC like a month after launch and seen maybe 2 bugs. Cdpr did something weird with the code and the game was basically shitting itself on weaker hardware like consoles or low-end PCs.
It's true though, most of the "bugs" were just loading issues because consoles didn't have SSD to truly handle the load of the game. It was most likely suits who pushed for a last gen release anyway.

It's primarily a balance issue. The game is just not fun to play because the balance and progression is in the shitter. Nothing meshes well together and half the skills don't work. Full Gameplay Rebalance made the game fun to play, but it broke with patch 1.5 and the author hid the mod.

I thought it was alright, but not the sort of game I'd play again. It's buggy as frick (probably better on PC or next gen consoles) and there's a lot of wasted potential.
The AI also sucks and there are weapons that are too OP, plus you can get infinite money very easily.

It's still a pretty janky game in my opinion but there are times when you are locked into a storyline and the game is showing off its top notch graphics and npc dialogue where you get the feeling of it being one of the best games every.
Also, not many games out there that gives you the same experience as decking yourself out with augments and rolling through enemies with Mantis Blades like you're an Ultralisk.
Last time I played the mantis blades were literally unplayable because the MC was getting locked in a finisher animation on every second kill while all the other enemies obliterate your ass.
That bug still exists, but its pretty rare now from my experience.

Ganker sometimes will have some good thoughts. It depends on the people you catch in a thread, the time of day, etc. In a good thread you'll get a couple anons who stow the insults and petty post-irony to discuss their experience and/or seek solutions to problems they are having. These threads are rare so you definately need to pay attention to the flow of the board to spot them when they appear.

I experienced more glitches playing Skyrim’s first 20 minutes on release than I ever did with Cyberpunk and that piece of shit has been rereleased 60 times and is regarded as one of the greatest games ever made.
Bugs can be fixed, bugs are no an issue.
Underdeveloped systems across the board will forever remain shit and lacking.
Despite that, I enjoyed Cyberpunk. If it magically had 2 more years of development, it could have been amazing. But that never happened

If you go into the game not expecting it to be the in-depth craft-your-own-story-and-character bugless-Bethesda-style RPG like CDPR was advertising it as, then it's pretty good. You won't get to create your own character: you're either Johnny or what CDPR decided your V is going to be like (even if you take a backstory that isn't Street Kid, everyone treats you like a Street Kid. 'Remember where you came from,' Vic I came from Arasaka). There's some great quests (like fixing Delamain) but you have to wade through a lot of fetch quest styled filler to get there (like collecting Delamain cabs). In-game dialogue/cutscene animations are some of the best in the business, they flow to and from gameplay almost perfectly. Maelstrom is based AF, in a better game that wasn't worried about catering to normies we would've been able to borg out like that but here we are. I guess what I'm saying is that it's bittersweet to remember what was promised, but if you can put that aside then it may be a nice experience.

Lifepaths having pretty much 0 impact on anything is just awful. You get a 15 min intro with a laughable cutscene.
IT's a 8/10 in a vacuum and a 6/10 if you know what it should've been.
The issues is less what the end result was and what the original plan was.
IIf you say that you're gonna make a 3 layer chocolate cheesecake, that's what I'll expect. Delivering a 1 layer vanilla cake will dissappoint me even if it's a really fricking good vanilla cake, simple as.

I played it on the PS4 Pro at launch and thought the story was good enough to elevate it to an 8/10 or 9/10 if I were just talking about the story.
Of course if you skip all the sidequests there isn't much of the story to be had as a lot of the sidequests ARE the main story as they didn't want the game to be 60+ hours long like TW3.
