ADS and sprint are bad, specifically in these "movement shooters" because you can't move and shoot at the same time, in a game all about moving and shooting. That's why these "movement shooters" never caught on and were only a fad. They're first person platformer mechanics put into bog standard cod clones. They don't integrate the movement into shooting, you can just either do cool movement or very basic shooting.

ADS is pretty much a cover shooter mechanic. It only makes sense in the context of cover shooters or slower games where you're moving less and shooting at all is a massive risk.
Why does this mechanic even exist in most shooters aside from "muh realism" and the fact it's a popular mechanic? Same goes for sprint buttons

You can have it be useful without gimping hip-fire, like in Nu-Wolf.
I really enjoy the six days in fallujah aiming system. Right click gives you something like point shooting with your iron sights not quite on target but acting as a very fast cue for where to aim. Scrolling up from there gives proper ADS. I've never played anything like it.
