Sure all that's impressive from a technological stand point but its still essentially a cutscene with no control from the player.
The dude from mothers basement is moronic, I especially feel like he was being extra moronic in his Scott pilgrim video and his whole stance against gatekeeping anime.
it may as well be prerendered cutscene. Not like it's possible to change costumes by that point. Game doesn't allow you to switch costumes until you play like 3 hours
The whole "cutscene camera pans behind your character so you can take control after it ends" gimmick stopped being interesting 10 years ago. I don't know how anyone's still impressed by badly mocapped actors magnetizing to objects and doing jittery animations.
I liked it in Quantum Break. Are you saying that because you want something different or because you don't want people saying it's cool and want it to be the norm if there is a cutscene? I suppose I'm fine with a normal cutscene and then it jumps to you after. Doesn't telegraph the finish of the cutscene either
Isn't this the gay who dick rided Crunchyroll so much after they bought him that he ended up turning against Pirating anime and giving us the worst possible way to watch Jojo just because part 5 was aired on CR.
What the frick he's doing talking about v shit please go back to your tranime content sir.
they act like technology is impressive but we've completely lost some genuinely impressive stuff like actual mirrors not made with built-in raytracing or being able to shoot containers full of liquid that accurately lose the fluid. basically most of the shit that gets posted in the TECHNOLOGY threads is just lost with newer games, they're all fricking engine plug-ins now
people who play videogames get phased out every 10 years or so in a manner where it basically does not matter what the previous 'gen' had unless it was some sort of grand cultural masterpiece that became the target of hundreds of 9gag and reddit jokes following the same scheme, like from software games. your game is 2007 so only 70 year old people remember that
sorry the future is here and it's now
Journalists do not play videogames and routinely assume that anything they see for the first time in a game must be the first time it's been in ANY game. Like all the people gushing over TOTK's building mechanics, not on the basis that they were good, but that they were literally the first of its kind, because they literally just don't know about shit like GMOD
Has "woah, technology" ever have an award in vidya? Seems like an obvious category, "Achievements in programming" for these sort of things that aren't really gameplay or game quality centric.
While true they'd absolutely give it to games that didn't do anything impressive but pandered to game journos or some other kind of false advertising gimmick like "amazing, hyper responsive enemy AI" that's dumber than a fricking Goomba in the NES Mario games
Reminder that Lego Lord of the Rings let you switch between characters in completely different sectors of the world seeminglessly and that came out before the SSD meme
Insomniac in the 90s >Made LODs become a standard so they could have large dream like worlds with no pop in and fog being relegated to a piece of setting and not a requirement >Did all this in the name of gameplay >Didn't expect anything in return and most people don't even know a game about a purple dragon is why LODs are so heavily developed and became an industry standard
Insomniac now >WE DID WHAT EVERYONE ELSE HAS BEEN DOING FOR YEARS PRAISE US
Modern Insomniac are lame
I think the moron means the technical achievements.
Apparently that's what we call pop-in, default blender cubes, bugged animations, ugly animations, fugly 3D models, QTEs, a dogshit story and ripping off Sonic's homing attack nowadays.
I'm still surprised people say 06 is the gold standard of broken.
I mean even with all it's issues, the team lost a key member and then was split in half with no real warning. Yeah it was bad, but it made sense why it was bad. Games like Spiderman 2, Marvel's The Avengers or CP2077 all had full development cycles, no weird splitting of teams to get a second totally different game out at the same time or any of the bullshit that plagued Sonic Team(and with far more staff than them). Yet they're releasing shit on par with 06 in terms of bugs, glitches and issues without any of the drama.
It's like they took 06 as what should be the new status quo.
Story was shit
Not enough diverse (oh the irony) boss fights with interesting gameplay mechanics
Venom real form appears too late, Only does one good venom interaction. He's not that interesting compared to how much its built up
The Jonas podcast were meh and too few compared to the annoying b***h I forgot her name
M.J downgraded
Peter parker always acted like a little b***h
too much ass
I agree, far too much of the blackamoor
if these programmers want recognition, maybe they should work on real games that aren't lead by Californian HR departments
Yeah the technicals are good but how is the gameplay or story?
Devs not putting enough trust in their gameplay mechanics enough that they have to craft awesome moments because they don't think the player can
that guy really has his head up his ass because that's fricking nothing compared to what some other titles have been pulling off for years

why do cuckolds flock to sony games?
Good to know his taste in vidya is as bad as his taste in anime
Isn't this the gay who dick rided Crunchyroll so much after they bought him that he ended up turning against Pirating anime and giving us the worst possible way to watch Jojo just because part 5 was aired on CR.

At this point I'm convinced chuds use the word "chud' more than anyone else. Insecure much?
Take GTA5 for example. You can fly around the world, which loads in the world in gameplay in a jet plane. That was possible back in 2013
they act like technology is impressive but we've completely lost some genuinely impressive stuff like actual mirrors not made with built-in raytracing or being able to shoot containers full of liquid that accurately lose the fluid. basically most of the shit that gets posted in the TECHNOLOGY threads is just lost with newer games, they're all fricking engine plug-ins now
Post actually good in-engine cutscenes
lost odyssey did it back in 2007. What's so impressive about it nowadays? 03:03

>guy that literally doesn't know how to count
Pass.
gta 3 loaded the world seamlessly in the year 2000. Do snoys really?
It loaded one island seamlessly and there were no interiors.
>Steal a shot from Man of Steel
>It flops harder than Man of Steel did
Bravo Black person-Man 2!
All of this programming marvel so we can make "protect bipoc artists"
Truly a marvel
Sony fans not handling those losses well.
There are many open world games that have many enterable buildings that doesn’t require loading and it’s in game, not a cutscene. What is he saying?
So, anyone gonna post the heckin epic cutscne?
>its a cutscene
>yeah a buzzword buzzword buzzword buzzwors buzzword cutscene
a fade to black with a loading bar would make it even faster
>it's just a cutscene
>yeah, a real time in-engine blah blah fricking blah
>the huge accomplishment of this video game is a cutscene

>and most of the rest are also Spider-Man
What?
i will say the number of polygons in MJs chin is actually technically impressive.
Has "woah, technology" ever have an award in vidya? Seems like an obvious category, "Achievements in programming" for these sort of things that aren't really gameplay or game quality centric.
Games should have their own razzie award so Todd wouldn't go home empty handed.
Yeah, even Oscars have awards for technical category, it's a disgrace that video games don't have that in comparison.
While true they'd absolutely give it to games that didn't do anything impressive but pandered to game journos or some other kind of false advertising gimmick like "amazing, hyper responsive enemy AI" that's dumber than a fricking Goomba in the NES Mario games

>le GOTY
>muh GOTY
People like being drama-gays more than actually playing games.

The rest of what?
I think the moron means the technical achievements.

It's kinda crazy that Sonic 06 crashed and soft locked less on me than this game
I'm still surprised people say 06 is the gold standard of broken.

not like sonic 06 had any save breaking bugs like spider-man 2 or 1 for that matter. Hell sonic 06 never hard crashed on me
Honestly same and I even played on the PS3 which was apparently the worst version to play
bruh.... they downgraded MJ to be a ugly karen.
I don't vote for shit like that.
>moronic opinions on anime
>moronic opinions on piracy
>moronic opinions on games
at least he's consistent
