I kinda figured from the beginning that not all the one line characters in the code were totally guaranteed to get in. It’s basically future proofing and quick “what ifs” for possible characters. I believe NASB had a similar thing where characters were mentioned in the files and the devs confirmed they were just testing possible future additions

They could would pretty differently. I could see them being either a bruiser or assassin type, with Sylvester mostly using claw swipes or blunt objects, and Tweety being able to fly. Hell, they could probably even add Monster Tweety as some sort of install, similar to IG's rage mode.

Shaggy and Jake are pretty easy. I mean Jake feels odd to me but he's very straightforward to play. Harley is low skill floor high ceiling. She's very easy to play but her kit requires you to juggle your opponents like a real circus clown if you want to kill them. She's really fun I clicked with her right away. Can't say much for the rest of the cast since I jumped on Arya the second I had 3000 and been maining her and Harley since.

The fricking spinning bag move is just Taz's tornado but it can be put into any finn combo. Just that is already cancerous and he has a god tier framedata, very good range and his attacks seems to take priority over all others in clashes.
I play Jake and the only thing i can do is spam the elastic punches and try to get a good dodge from time to time to get a little combo in.

There are times where my character is obviously still getting inputs (like moving), but won't do my attacks when I press them for a few seconds. This isn't disconnects of my controller as changing directions still works. This doesn't happen in other games. idk. I just started mashing when I want to do something to guarantee it happens now.
I played a tom and jerry with dynamite and projectile damage/speed perks. The amount of shit going on in the arena was unbearable. I couldn't get close without a tennis ball smacking me in the face or dynamite blowing me off the map

I could not take a second stock off of him between two matches, he was just too slippery and he had my fricking number. Expert Bugs players are an absolute nightmare, my god. That's the level of Bugs I aspire to be, but I don't know if I'm capable of that shit. Really good Shaggy and Harley players can also be incredibly frustrating, motherfrickers can just be wherever they want at all times. Worse so if they're obviously partnered up with someone who's just as good. The weirdest one I've witnessed is Batman players. They used to be nothing in the alpha, now a good Batman is my bane and I have no idea how to counter the ones who constantly grapple towards me.

Dunno if I'm getting old or I'm too used to Smash but it seems a little chaotic at times playing 2v2 but I imagine it wouldn't feel as bad in 1v1. A lot of the game assets just seem to blend together.
I know it's freemium but progression seems pretty fricking slow. From that standpoint I'd rather just play Smash or something else that I've purchased outright.
They'll probably buff the rate of gold substantially because you don't buy skins, taunts, or other cosmetics for a character that you don't own. For now, just make sure you get your first win because that's 100 gold a day or a character or more worth a month until they fix this shit.

Freeze breath exists to stop projectiles, Taz's spin, and Jake's horse move. Doesn't help with much else. They added a unique perk to try and make it more viable but it's hit or miss since all it does is increase your damage based off ice stacks.

Honestly? I find it hard to do damage even against the bots in this game. There's WAY THE FRICK TOO MUCH MOBILITY and any time I try to do anything it's 'DODGED' or them zip-zopping to the other side of the map. I'd be a problem given how spammy movement feels. Hard to hit someone when it's nigh impossible to catch someone. I get that it's Looney Smash Bros, but the chase suuuucks

What you're describing is a good idea for a month old game. No new player will ever win a match ever against someone with 500 hours in the game even if they have a level 1 Superman against their level 15.

Bugs just clicks right for me. The only thing is that he probably appears to be a big ball of spammy cancer, but you're genuinely not playing Bugs right unless you're constantly using your cooldowns when they're up. Can seem spammy, but there are also countless character that can just spam the attack button with huge hitboxes. I mean Bugs has such short range with his punches and his mallet has startup time, he literally can't approach and melee in the traditional sense.
But it's a problem in literally every game like this. Trying a new character is a complete handicap even if you play against bots or in the lab because they don't play like real people. It ends up locking you into a singular main because otherwise you just tank your MMR fighting the same players, and then start bodying people who are technically beneath your actual MMR versus where you end up.
There's some merit in caring since getting mismatched can make the game annoyingly hard or boringly easy but the vast majority of people who care about climbing mmr are usually sweaty as frick and do shit like not rematching if they feel they will lose a set.
Unlocking characters in this game is kinda obnoxious, I have 1300 goy coins and I want bugs. I have Superman, Batman and Finn. Batman isn’t that good. Superman is my main. Once you reach level 5 with all the rotation characters you can get more free gold BUT i still think is more fun than buying the goy packs, unlocking the characters you want can be kinda fun

Taz should never not be in S tier. Even without the tornado he would be A tier. Ridiculous edge guarding potential, he can just dance all over you until you just fall to your death if your wiener even brushes against the wall. Easily eats all projectiles that so many characters rely on and have cooldowns. Good in your face brawling.
And that's ignoring the tornado that simply cannot be punished and can launch you from the left side of the stage to the right blast zone at the same percents where your up air won't kill someone at the top of the screen.

I want you to try playing Taz without the tornado. Every other move is dogshit slow, does awful knockback, and has frickawful hitboxes that put him in danger more than they actually help him. His neutral special is a fricking meme with a nonexistent hitbox that can't actually eat like 90% of projectiles despite that being the whole point of the move.
Best basic perks for Jake? Seems obvious that the stagger on his stretch is better than double bounce as it turns it into a pretty dangerous corner trap.

Does anyone else seemingly run out of jumps when they swear they should still have them? It honestly feels like a bug where I suddenly get knocked a million miles away and have no recoveries available. I never had this problem in any of the smash bros games.
My issues is that I don't believe I actually ran out of jumps. I keep track of my jumps specifically so I know how to recover but in this game it seems like my recoveries are randomly eaten sometimes and I'm left helpless. it always comes as a genuine shock because I'm sure i've only jumped once or not at all.

I kinda figured from the beginning that not all the one line characters in the code were totally guaranteed to get in. It’s basically future proofing and quick “what ifs” for possible characters. We already know Gandalf is practically complete, and they even added LotR music within the beta. I'm pretty sure they just wanted to make sure they get the first 30 characters out of the way before working on the next batch, whenever that'll be.

Hey guys I have some questions. I'm very new to platform fighters. Is it worth doing all the advanced tutorials? Or should I just skip it? I played a few then just boot up a match. I won with Taz and my teammate is Jake. Pretty fun. Taz is so damn easy. Is he the easiest character in the game? Also if someone can make a small tier list it would be great.
Do all of the tutorials. Only one of them is actually unable to be completed. They teach you a lot of really good fundamentals you should know. Or you could just keep face rolling as Taz honestly he's brain dead easy to win with. No agreed upon tier list yet either.

Shaggy and Jake are pretty easy. I mean Jake feels odd to me but he's very straightforward to play. Harley is low skill floor high ceiling. She's very easy to play but her kit requires you to juggle your opponents like a real circus clown if you want to kill them. She's really fun I clicked with her right away. Can't say much for the rest of the cast since I jumped on Arya the second I had 3000 and been maining her and Harley since.

The fricking spinning bag move is just Taz's tornado but it can be put into any finn combo. Just that is already cancerous and he has a god tier framedata, very good range and his attacks seems to take priority over all others in clashes.
I play Jake and the only thing i can do is spam the elastic punches and try to get a good dodge from time to time to get a little combo in.

Characters will range from 1500 gold to 3000, except Taz which will cost 6000 gold because frick you taz spammers now you don't even get the chance to learn to play the character honestly. A nerf is too good for your kind.
2000 for normal ones, 3000 for experts and I dunno how much recommended characters cost.

Is it me, or sometimes the controls won't work? And the lag is getting more noticeable now.
There are times where my character is obviously still getting inputs (like moving), but won't do my attacks when I press them for a few seconds. This isn't disconnects of my controller as changing directions still works. This doesn't happen in other games. idk. I just started mashing when I want to do something to guarantee it happens now.

I could not take a second stock off of him between two matches, he was just too slippery and he had my fricking number. Expert Bugs players are an absolute nightmare, my god. That's the level of Bugs I aspire to be, but I don't know if I'm capable of that shit. Really good Shaggy and Harley players can also be incredibly frustrating, motherfrickers can just be wherever they want at all times. Worse so if they're obviously partnered up with someone who's just as good. The weirdest one I've witnessed is Batman players. They used to be nothing in the alpha, now a good Batman is my bane and I have no idea how to counter the ones who constantly grapple towards me.

Dunno if I'm getting old or I'm too used to Smash but it seems a little chaotic at times playing 2v2 but I imagine it wouldn't feel as bad in 1v1. A lot of the game assets just seem to blend together.
I know it's freemium but progression seems pretty fricking slow. From that standpoint I'd rather just play Smash or something else that I've purchased outright.
It's chaotic as first because you don't know what everyone can do. Once you play 2v2 more you get used to it.
They'll probably buff the rate of gold substantially because you don't buy skins, taunts, or other cosmetics for a character that you don't own. For now, just make sure you get your first win because that's 100 gold a day or a character or more worth a month until they fix this shit.
I'm not so sure. They also sell instant character unlocks so they might be hoping you'll just get frustrated with the grind and pay to unlock your favorite character

Freeze breath exists to stop projectiles, Taz's spin, and Jake's horse move. Doesn't help with much else. They added a unique perk to try and make it more viable but it's hit or miss since all it does is increase your damage based off ice stacks.

Honestly? I find it hard to do damage even against the bots in this game. There's WAY THE FRICK TOO MUCH MOBILITY and any time I try to do anything it's 'DODGED' or them zip-zopping to the other side of the map. I'd be a problem given how spammy movement feels. Hard to hit someone when it's nigh impossible to catch someone. I get that it's Looney Smash Bros, but the chase suuuucks

Bugs just clicks right for me. The only thing is that he probably appears to be a big ball of spammy cancer, but you're genuinely not playing Bugs right unless you're constantly using your cooldowns when they're up. Can seem spammy, but there are also countless character that can just spam the attack button with huge hitboxes. I mean Bugs has such short range with his punches and his mallet has startup time, he literally can't approach and melee in the traditional sense.

But it's a problem in literally every game like this. Trying a new character is a complete handicap even if you play against bots or in the lab because they don't play like real people. It ends up locking you into a singular main because otherwise you just tank your MMR fighting the same players, and then start bodying people who are technically beneath your actual MMR versus where you end up.

There's some merit in caring since getting mismatched can make the game annoyingly hard or boringly easy but the vast majority of people who care about climbing mmr are usually sweaty as frick and do shit like not rematching if they feel they will lose a set.
If levels and general playtime can give you boosts to your characters, the matchmaking should take that into account.

Unlocking characters in this game is kinda obnoxious, I have 1300 goy coins and I want bugs. I have Superman, Batman and Finn. Batman isn’t that good. Superman is my main. Once you reach level 5 with all the rotation characters you can get more free gold BUT i still think is more fun than buying the goy packs, unlocking the characters you want can be kinda fun

Taz should never not be in S tier. Even without the tornado he would be A tier. Ridiculous edge guarding potential, he can just dance all over you until you just fall to your death if your wiener even brushes against the wall. Easily eats all projectiles that so many characters rely on and have cooldowns. Good in your face brawling.
And that's ignoring the tornado that simply cannot be punished and can launch you from the left side of the stage to the right blast zone at the same percents where your up air won't kill someone at the top of the screen.

Does anyone else seemingly run out of jumps when they swear they should still have them? It honestly feels like a bug where I suddenly get knocked a million miles away and have no recoveries available. I never had this problem in any of the smash bros games.
You and your partner should both have the 3x jump perk.
My issues is that I don't believe I actually ran out of jumps. I keep track of my jumps specifically so I know how to recover but in this game it seems like my recoveries are randomly eaten sometimes and I'm left helpless. it always comes as a genuine shock because I'm sure i've only jumped once or not at all.

The game lets you stay in the air for a long time so you can straight up not hit the ground for a solid time frame. Its something that definitely gets a lot of people killed if you can exploit it.
One thing I can't stand about the game is the announcer can only say blue team or red team no matter what colors I have. They need to fix that now my autism is spiking.
