Don't play old games just because they're influential or famous. Half the shit on your backlog looks like you're just trying to play games for reasons other than "I genuinely think this looks fun," and they'll never leave your backlog because of it.
I both disagree and agree with this. In my opinion, give every single game that catches your eye for any reason two days to grab you. Play an hour on the first day, an hour on the second. If it has only half grabbed you, give it another hour on the third day. You're then allowed to drop it. But give everything a try.
I think this methodology is the best because some things only become interesting once you sleep on them for some reason. I have albums which I hated on a first listen, slept on them, and was addicted to from that day forward. Same logic with video games.
Out of all of those games that I've played, I'd say VTMB is a must play. Worth seeing all the way through, especially if you haven't been spoiled on anything for it yet 😉
Do I play it without or with the big patch? It seems to be very popular.
Some of this stuff takes like 6-10 hours at worst, you could beat them in two days.
Play a any metroidvania, play a resident evil, play a silent hill, play a wario land(4, because that's the one I played).
From the long ones I would recommend Chrono Trigger, which would be the shortest "long" one, Kingdom Hearts and maybe Okami, it can be divisive and it's very long.
Thanks for the recommendations. What was your personal favorite of the games you recommended? I'll try that one soon if you let me know.

I started System Shock remake, and was immediately hooked. Got up to Executive, and then took a break, and sadly never went back. I have to figure out a way to fix this
Probably brain damage. You can't handle a wide array of options so when a game opens up you shut it down and either restart or move to another game.
Maybe ADHD, maybe depression
you're probably right. I've been diagnosed and medicated for both of those conditions, actually.
i'm pretty sure the depression was a misdiagnosis, though.
anyway at least i'm not an autistic troony with 1000 hours on a game.
>stop playing a game halfway through >come back years later and have to restart because I don't remember anything and stop halfway in again
this happens a lot
>Start playing game from backlog >Am excited to play >Get to first point where saving is possible >No longer want to play game so I save and never play it again
I don't even know why I do this
I only get that way for games I'm forcing myself to play. If it's a game I really want to play/enjoy playing I can play it for hours without feeling the need to stop except to go pee or eat.
>playing game >having a lot of fun >take a break for the day >wonder if I was really having fun or if I was simply falling for manipulative game design >get insecure >never play it again
Sssomebody stop me
>obsessed with order and perfection when gaming >must get 100% completion >can't play out of order, if I want to play Game 4 I have to play Game 1-3 first, even if I don't want to, even if the plot is totally unrelated, even if I've already played 1-3 a dozen times >any interruption or distraction makes me feel like it's ruined and I instantly quit, and delete my save data so I'm not tempted to continue >compulsive need to keep a list of all the games I've finished, but violating any of the things listed above means I have to delete it and start all over >but only a few select games feel like they are "right" to be the first ones on the list so I now just endlessly attempt to replay them over and over even though I'm sick of them so I can get the list going again, occasionally getting so frustrated that I spend several days lying in bed so I don't have to deal with it
I wish I was making this shit up but no. I've been living this hell in various forms for 7+ years. I have an appointment on the 26th to finally talk to psychiatrist about it
>psychiatrist
Cringe and dangerous in the modern world. Just drink a little bit of alcohol before bed to help you sleep away the anxiety. Don't get absolutely smashed, just enough to act as a mild sedative.
idk i have to go to anger management for court due to state targeting me and she said im not insane when the state said i was lol
depends which one u go to
i go to some spanish lady
I do this with movies but even the longest movie is only a 3 hour experience or so. I feel that unless you at least beat the game on the default difficulty you can't fully hate it with all your heart so I force myself with all media I consume.
the worst is piracy and emulation backlog
beating pc wii and psp alone would take forever
backlogs are stupid i play what im having fun with or to kill time
My backlog also keeps growing, but I am happy about it, because it means I always have good games to play, and that I don't run out of them. Although this is only cause all my attention is on Splatoon 3, so once those updates stop, I will start on my backlog.
backlog is mental illness. stop worrying about games you haven't played and enjoy the ones you're playing. life is too fricking short to make your leisure time a chore
My backlog keeps growing but for a different fricking reason >EA game, I'll check it next year >this one too, I'll check it next year >also this one, I'll check it next year >*next year, none of them are finished* >*the year after, none of them are finished*

Yeah, it should.
Have you watch every movie you wanted to see?
Have you read every book you wanted to read?
Have you heard all the music you wanted to hear?
No, you haven't. You need to pick and choose which are most relevant to you.
I do this constantly
Why? This seems moronic
I do it too. My excuse is autism. Usually stop playing a game I really like right at the end, if I do stop. Again. Autistic.
It's like, if you finish the game then it's done for good, but if you don't finish it, then it's still around
Yep, every time I'm really enjoying a game.
I'll hit the halfway point then ""temporarily""" put it down as to now finish it too quickly then I'll never touch it again.

How. How can you tell just through the comic alone. There's no reason why it should be so obvious, but it always is.
Yeah you can tell the author is a Pinoy, gross
when the self-insert is a girl it's always a huge red flag
Yeah but there's also something about the drawing style too
What do you mean by "something" friendo?
If you've been on the internet you've seen this perons' comics a morbillion times already, you know they're transgender, stop being coy.
No bro you don't get it they'd rather just draw a girls ass than a guys don't read into it. It's easier to come up with outfits for a girl than a guy
this but unironically, if you use a dude avatar to represent yourself online you're probably a pedophile
I can never tell, I might be autistic
