Sorcerer not only does more damage, has access to all the same utility, but you're also playing a Charisma character which pretty much trivializes 90% of the dialog in the game.
Divination wizard, don't let the other anons fool you, the ability to just force an enemy to fail their save against your hold person is more powerful than any amount of damage could possibly be
