Fromsoft are the only developer that I can think of aside from falcom that is still popping out playable and good games, are they the best ever, frick no, but where are all of those great developers nowadays, doing some troony gay shit or remakes, the west literally doesn't have a single good developer anymore, all of them gone poof ,

The level design in Bloodborne and ER is way better than DS3's linear ass game, I liked DS3 but c'mon man
Only DS2 is worse than elden ring, everything else is better, but it's still a good game overall and FUN to play if you enjoy the combat, there is tons of replayability value, no microtransaction, this speaks of a good developer because even one of their worse entries is still good,
again it has nothing on DS3 bosses and it doesn't even deserve to be in the same sentence with the holy duo or DeS, but it's still good,

Zoomers. If they said favorite "modern" developer, then sure, I could understand it.
But there have been way better devs, historically. It's just that they're all dead or zombies by this point.
FromSoft has been in the business for a long time too. They just never took of until the Souls games. Their big money make was armored core none of which ever sold even a million copies. AC2 was their highest selling game and that was a PS2 launch title.
I'm well aware they've been around for a long time, I probably played AC before you were born.
They've always been a fairly decent developer, but I can't imagine anyone rating them at the top when you had companies like Namco and Sega. Of course, now they're both beyond rotting corpses, but in the mid 90s, they were fantastic. AC was fun, but it was nothing compared to the real AC.
