      >first painted minis
Not bad anon. Keep them. Varnish them. And down the line as you keep painting minis you'll look back on those and be amazed at how much good painting skill has developed over time.

the look much better than my first attempts at painting, but you should really take the time to remove the casting lines with a file or scalpel knife to clean it up a little, it is really obvious on the plasma pistol of the dude in the background. and it is neither very hard to do nor does it take super long.

i like the painting on the chain loincloth, but i feel the Blood is splattered quite randomly. They dont really seem to follow where bloodsplatter would be, the dude with the chainglaive, the blood on his armour does not seem to match with what an attack with that weapon would look like (the shoulder pauldron on the leading hand is quite clean, while the back hand shoulder pad is splattered. his forward shoulder I'd expect would be the more splattered side.

Not bad. Work on doing some intentional painted highlights and lowlights to get some more depth out of the figure, contrast is a huge deal at small scale.

Not bad at all for a newbie! I'd go a bit lighter on the blood splatter, also edge highlighting is a great way to make darker minis pop.
    Keep at it mate!

You’re already better than anyone who puts grey on the table. Edge highlights will elevate you miniatures even further, you might also consider spraying the minis with a matte varnish before the blood effects if you want to minimize the sheen of your paint.

Pretty decent for your first attempt at painting. You seem to have royally fricked up attaching their arms though.

yeah, the 3d printed arms were weird with the CSM bodies I couldnt get them to fit on properly so I just put them on the best way I could

Basing your minis really brings them together. There are plenty of guides on youtube. You did well but thin your paints more. You want it to be about the consistency of slightly thick milk.

im starting on the jump packs, this is the first one, i painted the helmet like its from a space marine from the genisis chapter, a chapter that fought the night lords in the book trilogy.

Thin your paints my dude. They're pretty good for a first go, but thin your paints. It'll help with the effect if the purple looks smooth but is covered in blotchy red.

painting is neat for early models, you went a bit overboard on the blood but it's charming and nostalgic in a way, reminds me of my mate's orcs as a kid

Looks pretty decent. You should really base them though. There's nothing more disappointing than seeing good models sitting on a black disc.

I like the blood splatter effects but their armor is just too shinny. Have you considered dry brushing?
