My mother was recently hospitalized after collapsing from overworking. She has already retired but won't stop spending literally her entire day doing meaningless chores around the house for no reason. She's still doing it even after her doctors told her to just stop. My plan now is to get her addicted to video games even though she has never played one in her life and hates technology, what are some essentially mom-core games other than fricking farmvile and animal crossing?

My dad died at 87 from a sudden illness but even before the pandemic he would drive and travel by himself and do all his stuff respecting his own limits, and considering he smoked like a tropical fire, he even went very far with good health. It's crazy how this applies to my grandma. She's 75 and watches my cousin's kid sometimes and I've seen her crawling around on the floor and running around everywhere with him. She's very small but it's still not good for her when she has arthritis and then complains about the pain despite the day previously moving around like she's 20.

That's a boomer thing. It wasn't a big deal to shop often back when gas was 5cents a gallon and you could get food for the day for 15cents.
Shit drove me insane, why not get enough groceries for a week like normal people? Especially, being old, you'd think they wouldn't want to constantly put up with the hassle. I don't have arthritis or COPD and I fricking hate going to the grocery store just normally.

Yeah, sadly, my mom had said she just likes to get out of the house. So go to the fricking library, she always liked the library, but she never felt like doing much outside routine.
Meanwhile, I go without leaving the house for a whole week.
It was all part of the daily routine back when the community was actually enjoyable to engage in. Stop off at the store and say hi to everyone on the same schedule as you. Same kind of boomers you see at the local cafe every morning or outside the general store reading the paper. It was a different lifestyle back then.
Hyperactive people actively seek to die of a heart attack, I myself know that well because my mother, nearing her 60s, with a bum arm, and arthritis, still overworks herself in and out the house. You should not even bother spending any energy on trying to "help" with that.

A friend's mother was neurotic like that. Wanted to clean under some heavy furniture, wouldn't wait for him to come and help after work, moved the furniture herself. Had a heart attack and went to the hospital. Doctor warned that she absolutely needed strict rest. Of course, she went right back to neurotic cleaning, had another heart attack and died.
My mom died while still employed at Walmart. She used to be a big Tetris fiend so I tried to give her my old 3DS, but it was too complicated for her.
Just get her a Game Boy and some puzzle games.

If she's working herself that hard, she really needs something that will force her to sit still and chill the frick out.

She uses a macbook with a trackpad, and now she's developed nerve damage in her fingers.
