You should use printable black bottom CD-Rs.
And print out the booklet and make up a full repro case. You do it right you can make a full game with instructions for about 5 bucks.
>Considering the official CD's are black, I would imagine the PS1's laser diode is of a wavelength specifically tuned to a black disc anyway.
the absolute state of this board
Lasers operate in a certain frequency and don't give a shit about the visible spectrum IIRC, at least CD drives don't.
I have a theory that they really did add deep dark dye to the disc as a piracy defeat mechanism, they just couldn't tell the plebs why. This was aimed at people with replication plants (in China duh): Ask someone who deals with microscopes about how extremely strong of a light they need to shine on objects magnified to the level of seeing CD pits and lands clearly, and imagine how much MORE light they'd need to visually inspect a PS1 CD under the same microscope, in the area where pits are off alignment to generate the security signal with the tracking mechanism circuitry of the PS1.
Bingo 🙂
(Datel did make their bootable unlicensed discs but the process probably was too difficult/expensive for regular pirates since out of millions of pressed PS1 pirates, none ever actually performed the same bypass as a Gameshark CD. Or maybe it was concerns about strong legal action?)
Anyone ever call this number? There's an alternate reality in which I have actually played Legend of Legaia, alas, here I am, but the tradeoff to play so many other games was definitely better.
PS1 remains the only platform I still have to use physical media to play because of MechaPwn and the PS2's nature.
X Station
My solution only costs the price of CD-Rs and I don't have to do any soldering.
Sure, never spend money you don't need to but disk drives only last so long my friend
Well I'm hardly overworking it.
Thats what i told myself with my ps2.

Yeah I could do that or I could just play the damn game instead.
If you wanted to just play the game you'd emulate without even burning a disc.
Emulaters don't play games
yah they do
Fact check: FALSE
Yes, they do. It's what they do.
Aren't black cds harder to read?
Maybe at some trivially measurable level. It won't make a difference.

thats not a theory, that is a hypothesis at best.
here's a theory: quit being a homosexual
PS1 discs were a dark violent/purple color.
Haha what
No
Holy shit this place is full of plebs. You never looked at a PS1 disc against a strong light? It's a very deep dark purple.
Those black bottom discs are the same dark purple when held up to a light. At least the memorex ones I had were.
I have an X-Station so all my games are backed up to it.
I remember those EXACT CDs, actually I still might have one or two laying around
>limewire
>nero
ahh it's CD burning time

>Sir, can you tell us from which store you got your games and PS console from? A hong kong catalog? uhh... ok thanks, just don't pirate anymore, bye.
Using unoffical discs can spin too fast and chop off a south korean starcraft kid head off.
>tfw PSone takes forever to load and audio is glitchy
I kneel sdcardbros...
Why can't I burn PS2 games? Do I need to find software to remove the copyrigh?
Stopped reading at PS1.
