With default Switch settings I'm getting 27-30fps during the intro. If I overclock my Switch it's stable 30fps so far, so my guess is if you don't OC it'll only get worse during later parts of the game when there's more shit happening on the screen.

Dude the overclocking is for saving battery life. As is the Switch is extremely underclocked. Unless you overdo it, which you shouldn't be able to with the common tools, nothing should happen.
Yeah, I tried overclocking it to the max and got 35-40fps when I uncapped the framerate during a different scene, but the fan was running at 90-95% and increasing so I turned it down a bit. Summer heat and no AC just makes it worse here.

Under Options --> Settings you can choose the Audio Backend. Using SoundIO will crash your game. Use SDL2 instead.

So how's the game?
I think they're using ChatGPT or some shit to translate this game into other languages. I just started playing but I found like three to four translation errors in the German version before I could finally save my game and quit to change the language. I don't think any sentient human could make some of these translation decisions.
I'm learning German, care to share the sentences with errors? Maybe I'm good enough to catch them already
1) The Pause screen says "Pausieren".
2) When MC wakes up, he says "Do I have...what was it called? Amnesia?". In German, he says "Habe ich was früher als Amnesie bekannt war?".
There's two others that are harder to explain. Basically, a character is supposed to repeat a word they saw/heard earlier, but then they use a different word with the same meaning (Like the ghost at the start describing herself with the four qualities it gave as difficulty settings, but the words used are different from what was on those buttons). It just seems like every line was translated out of context.
"Solution" for those two errors I gave you:
1)"Pausieren" means "to pause". It's the verb. It's something you'd find on a pause button, not when something is already paused. The pause screen should either say "Pause" or maybe "Pausiert".
2)This one's really weird. The translation of the German sentence is basically "Do I have what was formerly called amnesia?". I think they just saw the "What was it called?" in the English version and decided it means that it's not called amnesia anymore. Might be the correct translation depending on how the story goes (maybe it's really not called amnesia anymore??), but either way, the English version is ambiguous while this is not.
Kind of depressing actually.
Or maybe it's the translators who tried to pass an AI translation as a real one.

Zelda TOTK had this exact same issue. The weird thing was that it "unlocked" after like 5 minutes of playing it at 30fps, after which 60fps was possible again (though it also had another issue of running at double the speed).

Running it on Yuzu now, but the textures have this... weird de-coloration if that's the proper term.
Disabling (Acclerate ASTC Texture Decoding) fixed the texture for me.

What version of the switch are you guys using? Currently have 15.0.0|AMS 1.5.3 and I can only install the base game but not the update.
Because base game was developed and tested on Switch kinda long ago, but update was very recent, that's why the update needs the latest (16.0.3 or .2 maybe)

https://darthsternie.net/switch-firmwares/ and install in Daybreak. The only problem that might occur though is if you have old homebrews. You could just rename the atmostphere folder and paste the updated files for atmosphere/hecate and the sig patches. As for the update just extract it into a folder and let daybreak check the file and update. After it updates it would ask you to restart.

You can probably use USB mode in Payload. The switch would act as a USB card reader and all that jazz about safely removing Card readers. Although I mostly just remove the SD card from my switch, since it's much safer since nothing is running. I did use that to fix the OS panic that happened earlier but that was before loading the OS anyway. Good luck.

Anon ffs, if you're updating atmosphere and your cfw setup just boot hekate and use the usb tools section to mount your SD. Removing your SD every single time will frick the pins. You do not need to remove the SD at all unless you're changing them. To update atmosphere you need to do it like this, but to browse your SD to just move files in and out you can either use the built in hombrew to browse the SD that comes with newer atmosphere installs or use somthing like DBI and mount the SD as MTP. How do you get to this point of having a modded console and not frick up?
I've strictly been using FTP to move things. I've never had to update my firmware before.
You can't update atmosphere with FTP because FTP run on system and you can't update atmosphere while it is running. Also I never said he should use FTP, just to use hekate and plug the damn switch to a pc and drag and drop the files in the console. How is that you've never ever possibly updated your atmosphere setup? You can use FTP if you're moving shit like small rooms or something similar. I use FTP when I want to move savefiles around for fricking and it just works, but to update atmosphere you can't do it like this.

In that order
fw 16 required a lot of homebrew to update and some might cause the console crash if you don't do it. So just replace all your older ones with their most recent releases. If there's not an update it didn't need it.

I tried FSR, and it looks good here. The game is slightly blurry (with the hires patch too), so using FSR makes the picture crystal clear.

Looks like the game crashes on start up if you use Vulkan API in yuzu but works if you use the other methods but then you get really nasty texture flickering and all kinds of weird color problems. Waiting warmly to see what happens

Remove the hires patch for that moment, or try choosing a smaller res. Particle effects in that scene overload the GPU pretty hard.

Started it on Ryujinx but seem to be having some kind of right stick drift/camera issues. It flips the frick out and have tried different controllers and setting the dead zones but it doesn't do anything.

I won't say Danganronpa are perfect games, but for a game that apes so much of what Danganronpa does, this really lacks some critical features that made Danganronpa special. The big cast of characters for you to interact with and learn to love is pretty much gone, as is the thrill of Danganronpa's killing game where you get to anticipate which character you like is gonna die next and which one will turn into a bloody murderer. Instead it's more of a one-man show with the quirky (but sexy) assistant. The class trials are replaced by tedious Mystery Labyrinths that are just straight lines with forks in the road for when you have to make a deduction, mixed with some minigames and "rebuttal showdowns" against some no-name antagonists. And the game absolutely loves to have hour long semi-cutscenes where you do nothing but press A through tons of dialogue.
At least it has a nice atmosphere once you get to the city and they have many wacky ideas for how to make deductions inside the labyrinths. I really hope the game starts to pick up the slack soon but I don't think it will.

But it might as well be. At least 60% of the game mechanics are taken straight from Danganronpa but named different or done with a twist. The biggest new thing is that you get to explore the world in a 3rd person view and do side quests which breaks down to finding markers on the map.
