Unalive yourself
I wonder what his job is now.
He stopped wearing the diving suit, which makes sense because the cloud sea is gone, but is he still salvaging shit?
Maybe he still leads the Garfont Mercrenaries
it's called hitting puberty
It was really wholesome seeing him say goodbye to his daughter. Same with Shulk, I wish we got to see more 35 year old dad characters in video games as the protagonist. Maybe it is because I am older now but I really like seeing more focus on these types of characters, bonus points if they were younger in previous games. MGS4 was the first time I really saw a mainstream game run with this
>dual wielding
Why its always so moronic looking?
Because it’s almost always (and absolutely is in Xenoblade’s case) overcompensation for a character not actually being interesting in their own right.
Because dual wielding irl is a meme, only real purpose would be with a parrying dagger. Which at that point might as well use a shield since it's doubles as a parrying dagger and block.
We got to see every step of the way and it didn't just happen in a timeskip, right?
Anon, you’re mistaking this series for one with a competent writer.
>character from a previous game comes back in a new game that takes place years after its predecessor
>has a new design
>this is somehow bad writing
>shit character with shit design comes back as shit character with tryhard cool design
>”OMG also look how much development they went through that we didn’t bother writing”
What? The game doesn't make any attempt to flaunt Rex in that way throughout the story of Future Redeemed, he's pretty much the same person he was in Xenoblade 2, albeit a little more learned and fatherly given the passage of time. His newfound wisdom is a natural aspect of aging, not something that necessarily needs to be shown onscreen to be conveyed or understood by people already familiar with his journey throughout 2; it's simply an extension of who he already was at the end of that game.
Regardless, nothing about his new design comes across as "tryhard" to me. It retains many of the key elements of his previous outfit, just with more fitting equipment for his new setting (on top of the aging). It really feels like you're projecting your own bad-faith assumptions onto him and the writers based on preconceived notions
>developed 0 in 2 (no, him having that moment where quit and pouted like a homosexual for all of 5 seconds doesn’t count as development)
>developed 0 in 3
Need I remind you what this thread was about Xenogay?
1) I'm not talking about the thread topic, I was specifically replying to your comment about the timeskip alterations to his character somehow being an inherently bad thing on principle alone.
2) Rex did develop as a character in 2. I'll admit, it wasn't a whole lot, as he is a relatively flat character in comparison to other members of the cast (and yes, those are able to exist within a narrative to their benefit, even protagonists, despite what random YouTube critics online will say; it all comes down to how they're implemented). However, to deny him as having any sort of development at all is an outright lie.
His whole arc in the game was about learning how to curb his relentless optimism and accept imperfect outcomes, to meet people where they are and not immediately assume he can help them entirely on his own. The story smacks you in the face with it again and again in the later chapters, and pretty severely punishes him in Chapter 6 when he allows his rash judgement to put everyone's lives at risk, despite Pyra's objections. That's not "0 development," simple as it may be.
Exaggerating every point you make to the realm of absurdity only makes you look like a twit.
Keep seething. No amount of tilted-head squinting and navel gazing is ever going to make Rex a decent character. The character always was nothing more than a lazy vehicle for otaku and weeb escapism. He is cardboard cutout shonen to the point I’m surprised he didn’t also have a food obsession.
How am I seething? All I've done is provide structured responses to your baseless claims and projections. You have yet to provide anything resembling an argument that goes beyond assertions that say virtually nothing
Speaking of shit characters coming back with cooler designs with a GAA image, that reminded me of this. Shame it was only for a single case.
Man these designs are awful.
Its always come across as trying to over make people stop making fun of a character people didn't like.
>guys stooop, he is totally cool
Changing appearance isn't character development.
I can name better
Dragon Ball >>>>>>>> shit > Z > the rest
The separation of OG and Z is an anime thing, they’re all apart of the same manga.
Well, except for ""the rest""
NTR won.
He was groomed, Rex is a victim of two female pedophiles
>take a character everyone derides as a homosexual
>try to make them cool by doing a complete reversal on their design
>try to pass it off as "character development" when you never see the development, just a jump from one character to a different one with the same name
