>half the game is literally unfinished
This isn't true yet you all keep repeating it. Literally only Lost Izalith is unfinished. Duke's Archives, New Londo, and Tomb of the Giants are kino gaming.
I disagree. It's a classic adventure game challenge of needing to find a way to tackle the environment. It's not "fun" fun, but it is engaging. Makes you play a certain way, which gives the place its own identity.
Only part I dislike is that bit at the very end where they throw three crawling skeletons at you at once, but honestly even that works somewhat as a final moment of terror before you make it through.
Tomb of the Giants doesn't work because you can tell it's supposed to connect to Ash Lake, but it doesn't. You can tell that there's supposed to be more there, but there isn't. Then there's Nito's fight, which isn't even a challenge to fight after O&S / 4K. It's a linear, boring slog where you, the player, are asking, "Am I there yet?" not because you're frightened, but because you're bored out of your fricking mind.
Dark Souls 3

Why do you think someone wouldn't believe that Duke's Archives, New Londo and Tomb of the Giants is great?
New Londo is the only worthwhile zone after O&S
Tomb of the Giants is fricking awful and straight up unfun
