I couldn't imagine replacing my DS4 until it died and Sony wouldn't warranty it because it apparently came from outside north america when I bought it from Sony on Amazon. I got a wavesense instead and I like it a lot. Big hands and this fits a little better

get a cheap $10 adapter and install the Xb2XInput driver and it'll work like a 360/xbone pad for any game
you can probably just cut the cord and solder usb there. from what i recall xbox controller is just usb with different plug. had to make usb stick adapter out of controller when i was softmodding xbox
but maybe it's better to spend 2 bucks on some chinese adapter instead.

I'm not an xbox fanboy by any means, but for my hands the xbox controller is better. When i was a kid i loved playstation controllers. Now when i use a ps controller when i look left and move right my thumbs touch. Don't like it. I would love the PS5 controller though if they swapped the analog stick and the dpad, cause the controller itself is very comfortable.

The DS4 doesn’t “mog” a damn thing. Truly awful. Terrible battery life, underutilized touch pad, and a baby step forward on the L2 and R2 buttons.
