I happen to like metal music. It's not like I think ORAS is any good or anything, but I was already a big fan of Gen 3's music, and hearing it without the godawful GBA soundchip is amazing.

A really cool touch is how the Commander theme sounds like a more intense version of the grunt theme, while Cyrus' theme sounds nothing like the other 2, reinforcing how he's completely out-of-touch with the rest of team galactic and has his own thing going on. For the commanders and the grunts, team galactic is an excuse to be nefarious and exert power all over the sinnoh region, and so their themes reflect that. But for Cyrus, he just wants to seperate himself from the world so he can be cold and unfeeling in peace, and his theme reflect that by having this distant, slow and brooding sound to it, matching his emotionless calculating nature juxtaposing the more rambunctious grunt/commander themes.

Deoxys was unexpected, and its theme was equally unexpected.
I mostly agree, I thoroughly enjoy gen 1-4 music and think Gen 5 was the actual high point of the series' music. Gen 6 and beyond, everything either just sounds like nothing or else is just a bad remix of something from an earlier generation
