I would say that PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series were much worse but damn, that's fricking awful. I thought Mario 3D Land, OoT, Starfox 64, Kid Icarus and MK7 were launch titles, but they all came a few months later.
They should've just delayed it, would've made the $250 price point less stupid.
>releases overpriced handheld at the beginning of the year with awful titles >no one buys it >waits until holidays >it's not $250, just $170 now and has tons of good games pls buy it >you bought it for $250? s-sorry, here are some GBA games
Nintendo was fricking moronic around that time.
They weren't moronic, just wienery. There was literally zero competition at the beginning of the year and they just pretended that Vita wasn't a thing until like August. Never forget that 3DS' launch was so bad that Vita's launch was looking good at the time, and in the interim Nintendo only shat out what, a couple N64 remasters prior to dumping a couple Mario games and slashing the price?
Ignoring 2nd gen shit and below because nobody cares. A lot of country of origin launches tend to be shit. The Japanese launch for the mega drive was only Space Harrier 2 and Super Thunder Blade which is abysmal considering Super Thunder Blade is dogshit. Crash n' Burn on the 3DO was the only game on the system for like a month and a bit, the PS3 launch was pretty bad. At least with the 3DS lineup, you got a technically impressive port of SSF4, Pilotwings, Bust a Move and nintendogs is light fun and Ridge Racer is fine
Nothing is as bad as ps5. All those other shit launches mentioned here didn't last a long and even in bad cases like ps3 were eventually fixed. PS5 was 0 (zero) games on launch and 0 (zero) games years later.
PS5 is such a baffling situation. Stellar Blade is the first game on the thing that I'd consider and it's the kind of game I'd wait for until it dropped to $20 or something.
>0 games on launch
Astro's Playroom
Assassin's Creed Valhalla
Bugsnax
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War
Demon's Souls
Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition
Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered
Marvel's Spider-Man Miles Morales
Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate
Sackboy A Big Adventure
Watch Dogs Legion
Way better than the 3DS launch that had nothing worth playing. Exclusive or not.
Multiplat ports are not games
Soulless demake is an offense to the whole industry
Shovelware tech demo is not a game
Thanks for confirmation snoygger chud
Vita
Ps5
Xbone/SeX
>Vita
what are you smoking
Vita wasn't that great, basically a bunch of shovelware and some ports. Better than 3DS' but still
pretty good port lineup tbh but not super amazing or anything
I'd take Lumines, Wipeout, Rayman Origins and maybe Shinobido out of that lot. There are games there.
>Xbone
Xbox One's November 2013 launch was incredibly fun.
that's awful
PS2

Are the colored circlepads a manifestation of mozzarella effect
The 3DS has an absolutely dogshit library even now, especially when compared to the DS before it
the switch only had 1-2 switch and botw at launch
I still remember Switch's early years and thinking "That's it? Just Wii U ports?"
>forgetting Bomberman
Prior to the patches, I think a lot of people tried to forget that one.

Switch, and it's still shit
id take having just botw and snipperclips over pilot wings resort and steel diver
PS5. That said, 3DS was pretty fricking awful, you had portable Street Fighter IV and uuuuuuuuuuuuuuh
pilot wings was cool but like all pilot wings games its basically just a tech demo
The Switch.
Breath of the Wild was a Wii U port.
And 3DS' best game was a PS360 port of a then nearly 3 year old game. A day and date WiiU crossplat still beats that.
I still remember emulating BotW on my PC and seeing it coming out on Switch, It was a funny feeling.
ps2, ps3, ps4

asiaticslop is a near guaranteed pc port in 2-3 years tops
>he thought for even 2 seconds that I'm gonna run out and buy a PS5 for Stellar Blade
Fricking nah, man.

As great as Mario 64 is, most of the intended N64 launch titles got delayed so you had like 3-4 games to pick from.
