Game is way too easy even on merciless (Royal merciless is a joke, but even base isnt hard)
If you've played a SMT or Persona game before then the game is just the same shit, use buffs, hit weaknesses easy wins.
You can break the game with fusion stuff really early on
Some of the Palaces are just badly designed and not fun (Okumura especially)
some social link buffs are overpowered and some are literally useless.
the protagonist is a blank slate youre supposed to self insert into/roleplay with, but its suboptimal to actually play a character a certain way in social links and you have to constantly contradict yourself and be the biggest point chasing psycho to max them all.
Writing, despite being good for an anime game and containing lots of great ideas, still contains the legacy traits of all shounen.
IE exposition is over explained and every theme is repeated to a ridiculous degree.
The renaming of characters in the localization was fricking stupid, they only renamed that one girl "oracle" because of a dated and stupid matrix reference.
Plenty of other problems with it but I still like the game though. It's hands down the best persona/SMT game.

this games cutscenes are terrible. It's so much worse than persona 4 i played the game two times on base persona 5 and i just want to see the royal content but im going through a novels worth of dialogue skipped by the end of kamoshida's palace. It's so so incredibly sad. I think final fantasy 10 does the games combat better
Too much pointless writing where it feels like nothing important is happening. Very slow imo it’s hard to get into. Admit it if it weren’t for the waifu dating sim aspects nobody would play it.
