I really like the sense of having a plane as an extension of the body and being able to fight to your strengths and your enemies weaknesses. There's also a level of skill above you, no matter what, and these pilots always are fun to engage.

One of Nintendo's most creative games. Each level has its own assets and uses the core mechanics in unique and fun ways. Despite so much variety it would be a disservice to call the distinctions between levels "gimmicks". The controls are tight and the graphics look great with plenty of sprite scaling and rotation effects. Kind of hard to believe it came out in 2001.

Lands of Lore Guardians of Destiny because it's like if a 2.5D dungeon crawler was made with the mindset that made Symphony of the Night. Poorly balanced and janky but packed full of soul, secrets, deep lore, and a sense of true adventure.

For me its got to ve Peter Jackson's King Kong: The movie: The video game. Immersive, surreal, and historical fiction that really bring out the best of that eras gun technologies to action. Plays like shite but Its something I can ignore.

Arma 3
Honestly, the campaign was great, but that is not what made it perfect for me. The things that makes it perfect is the Eden Editor. I have spent endless hours playing around with it and I just didn't get tired of it. It's great. I always loved making my own levels in sandbox games like this (this is the reason why is thought about mentioning Garry's Mod too, but in the end it's not a comparison to the masterpiece Arma 3 with the eden editor is). That be said, I have not played it in a long time, because my old computer broke and I couldn't afford a new one, but in near future I'll get a laptop, which supposedly should be able to run Arma 3 perfectly fine. So it might be like in the old days again, when I get my machine. I hope it runs.
Anyways, ye, Arma 3 and the eden editor in particular.
