Desktop mode without mkb sucks ass because steam client randomly but consistently shits the bed and takes all inputs aside from touch along with itself.
True, I hate that shit. I run the plasma desktop as a non-steam program now to stay in wayland, it seems to help. There's a nice script for it, I don't know why they didn't do this by default.
Have to carry a controller around with it. I fricking hate playing handheld and only own Deck and Switch to play in hotels during work trips, but I always put it on a table and use a controller. As much as I hate the Joy-Cons, they're good enough for turn-based shit and easy to carry with Switch.
Nice bait, I tried playing the Mega Man Zero collection on the Steam Deck and it was awful. It feels fine when you're playing slow shit like RPGs but as soon as you go to twitch action you realize how awkward the control layout is.
There is no notebook outperforming a deck at this price point. The best troons managed to offer in these threads were used notebooks for 700ish. And then there was still the lunacy of thinking the deck controls and form factor are comparable and irrelevant.
I hate discord trannies so much they might as well be women. I suppose I found the first and only way they pass.
It's the same horizontal line layout as the SNES megamen you fricking tard.
That's simply moronic, you expect an economy car to perform the same as a Porsche because to (You) price is no issue. Fricking moron.
And that's still completely ignoring the form factor - anybody who ever used a notebook knows how portable they are without a desk and power outlet. This makes me think you are just an underaged moron who never owned one, yet likes to yap on about things he doesn't understand.
The 64gb model is practically unusable unless you know how to replace the ssd. Resident evil revelations for example takes up 4gb with just the shader caches alone, not including the game itself.
I was able to replace the ssd pretty easily but if they ever want this thing to catch on with less tech savvy people they need to make the entry level model not require you to pry it open just to install more than one game.
The entry level model for normoids is the 256gb one.
Valve is actually really based for releasing a cheap model for people who aren't morons and can take out 8 screws from a device.
Can't run gamepass, can't suspend batocera, can't add non steam games, formats the sd card in ext so windows can't add files to it, suspend mode kills the battery in 2 days, fan sounds like a jet engine while playing 2d games from 2006
i have four:
- weird little button shortcut to bring up the virtual keyboard (though not a dealbreaker)
- touchpads are a little iffy and hard to get to used too
- biased, but there are way too many input schemes
- biased again, the dock is basic and kind of a joke. it's good that there are numerous 3rd party options out there. i think ninty patented the drop-in form factor, so no one can replicate it.
As someone who actually owns one:
1. loud fans
2. battery life could be better
3. native memory capacity is really bad on the cheaper models
4. gets hot if you play intensive games
But considering what it does and just how much is actually can handle (this little shit is better than my old ass desktop) it's still a very impressive piece of hardware.
I've never bought the dock, is it really that bad? Can it be used to play games with a controller on a TV?
Controller-wise, they try to cover so much that the resulting device is a bulky Frankenstein
I would gladly buy a Steam Deck lite without the steam controller aids
As someone else who owns one
1.>They're not loud as switch in current year
2.>use the power settings on side some games get 8 hours some get 2 use the power settings they work or you know just swap the battery
3.>just swap the hard drive
4.>this is true do not burn your penis
For the person who knows what they're doing its fantastic real complaint would be I've heard alot of people say their trigger buttons got fricked so I always go super easy on mine
It's heavy for actual portable use. The switch is also too large for being in public. The DS and PSP are superior, both can be gotten for cheap. Switch and Deck owners don't bring it outside.
loud fans
Yes, people who are fans of this thing are insufferable.
It's a fat cum gobbler just like ur mum
anon you gotta post source now my weenie is hard
Manilla
I can't

Too expensive
Makes you look like a manchild
Shitty ssd
Shit performance

You have some flavour of mental deficiency.
Deck controller > xbone > ps4 > switch pro > ps3 > Xbox 360 > joycons

I can afford the extra cost, there is no notebook that isn't way better.

There isn't
1. bezels
2. battery life
3. performance could be better
4. analog stick quality control isn't great
No 'ick on 'eck
Battery Life
ryujinx doesn't know how to handle multiple controllers when docked, and yuzu runs streets of rage 4 upside down

A monkey could replace the ssd in this, and nobody on this planet wants to play resident evil revelations
You can use sd card.
Can't run gamepass, can't suspend batocera, can't add non steam games, formats the sd card in ext so windows can't add files to it, suspend mode kills the battery in 2 days, fan sounds like a jet engine while playing 2d games from 2006

loading times are awful, can't play the crew 2
They did you a favor
my making we wait so long i'm done pooping by the time my game loads?
The screen
Not being smaller and having better battery life. No knocks against the deck, but my ideal version would be something around the PS Vita's size.
I'm also not a fan of the buttons, d-pad or l1/r1 which should all be clicky-er.
yep, i'm thinking deck shitted and flopped extremely badly as frick
we won valvetards, now what?
Gas all mentally ill. Gas trannies twice just to make sure.
Playing DS/3DS games on a horizontal screen is ass so I still have to keep my 3DS around.
I never use the trackpads wish they did a version without them that was smaller
>I never grab my girlfriend's ass, I wish there was a smaller version without it
Does replacing the fan with the Huaying fan actually decrease the noise, or is it not that big of a difference?
no keyboard/ mouse
Valve is incapable of producing enough to meet the demand
battery
the existence of 64gb version
that's probably all
>he doesn't want a cheaper version specifically made so you can change the ssd yourself
The screen is kind of bad. The colour gamut is quite low.
Shit battery
Shit shills.
>page 11
nice flop deck Black folk
Schizos tongue my anus
shitted
Its not any more portable than a small gaming laptop, which totally ass rapes it.
digital only
mentally ill OS
games not working
PC
can't buy retail
not future proof
I can go on
Controller-wise, they try to cover so much that the resulting device is a bulky Frankenstein

Mediocre screen. The Switch OLED has a better screen.
OLED is good for 2D games but I'm not trying to play any 3D game on the switch
Daughter always senses when I'm about to use it and asks if she can play it

I prefer to play games on a 27 inch monitor because I'm not a moronic person.
