Skyrim, Oblivion, Mount and Blade, Arx Fatalis, Daggerfall, Deus Ex, Dark Messiah, Systemshock series, Kenshi, Gothic, Crusader Kings, Rimworld, any game which prioritizes gameplay and world simulation over story/lorehomosexualry. Games utilizing advantages video games provide, like proper ballistic systems, physics, AI that simulates everything from functioning on their own factions to a single generic npcs living their life, real time simultaneous battle simulation etc

People always show the low enjoyment bell curve for midwits, what about a graph where midwit enjoyment is high and low and high IQ are low? what games fit under that graph?

Morrowind, New Vegas, tabletroony rpgs like BGs, Pathfinder, Witcher, Mass Effect, any game focusing on lorehomosexualry and storyhomosexualry over gameplay, sacrificing inherent superiority of video games to bring them down to inferior levels of movies or make believe paper rpgs. Can be usually correctly recognized by midwits creating multiple, hour long video essays in their favor where they discuss shallow writing of these "games"

this doesn't apply to cold steel or most jrpgs because the less IQ the more someone is likely to complain about it, it's not an inverted bell curve but a pretty linear thing

Fate/EXTRA. Low IQ people love it cause they will consume anything with Fate's name on it. Midwits get filtered by the gameplay. The rest see it as the kino that it is... or maybe I'm just a midwit idk I love the game.

I can't really like the game thanks for the stupid infirmary scene. Glad that they said they're going to change it so (You) are the one who doing it in the remake. Ending was kino though.

Nasu really cucked us out of a mana transfer scene lmao. Did not know they are changing that for the remake though, interesting.

Also the CCC translation looks like it will be done around Christmas time, hyped for that.

I haven't played it since I've been generally offput from anything related to Fate thanks to seeing the gacha shitters, but from what I've heard about the game itself- it's pretty much guessing Rock-Paper-Scissors patterns and then going until you have it right. And the combination of high school + spacey dungeons with cubes seems to make up most of the settings, so it didn't look great there either.
Is there more to it than that? What's the selling point if you're not already a fategay?

        Anonymous

        >I haven't played it since I've been generally offput from anything related to Fate thanks to seeing the gacha shitters
Anon, please ignore all the gacha FGO gays. They are secondaries and basically belong to another fanbase. Most non-secondary Fate fans focus on Nasu's earlier works, like FSN, Tsukihime, and EXTRA.

        >Is there more to it than that? What's the selling point if you're not already a fategay?
I'm not gonna bullshit you and tell you the gameplay itself is good, because it isn't. The game was made on a budget for a handheld console and it shows. However, the appeal of Fate before the FGO frickery has always been the exploration of who the MC is, and how a situation such as a holy grail war(basically a free for all battle royale) shapes who he his and how his ideals manifest. Also, the character writing and the dynamic between a Master and a Servant in relation to their situation. The game also has one of the best Jazz OSTs in gaming.

        >combination of high school + spacey dungeons with cubes seems to make up most of the settings
The high school is only a set piece. I don't want to spoil too much, but the high school setting is irrelevant besides subversion of expectations. You don't need to worry about high school shit. The dungeons are ocean themed, and while admittedly stale gameplay-wise, they carry alot of symbolism.

If you have experience with VNs/JRPGs and are willing to forgive mediocre gameplay for kino writing, symbolism, character development and music, you will enjoy this game and every Fate work that is not FGO.

Any Bethesda game. No high or low IQ person would go on about "dumbing down" or "streamlining" or about losing "role-playing mechanics" like Jump skill. Midwits cry about removing skills and number menus, while low IQ goes "wow perks, neat" and high IQ goes "perks effectively replaced skills, neat". Midwits think there's no role-playing if there's no game mechanics or systems involved. Low and high IQ people just play a role.

      >high IQ goes "perks effectively replaced skills, neat".
Except they wouldn't because "perks" are actually just skill trees, and they're extremely boring bonuses that barely affect gameplay aside from basic features and doing extra damage. If they actually copied Fallout that be one thing but it's implemention in elder scrolls is half baked, boring and at the cost of the game's style of progress losing its identity. Sorry but it fricking sucks no matter how you slice it. Oblivion was much better
