Seems like it would make their job of killing a bit harder if you're aware they're trying to kill you. The MMO genre has been on the decline for the past decade and there's no sign of it improving any time soon, FF is probably the only big one at the moment that gets consistently solid updates and tweaks and people want it to succeed since there literally isn't anything on the market that comes close to it in terms of overall quality.
