GRRM more or less disowned the show as soon as they changed Robb Stark's love interest from a noblewoman who nursed him back to health after he was injured capturing her family's castle to a homeless camp follower. This is his quote from 2011:
    >And that’s another of my pet peeves about fantasies. The bad authors adopt the class structures of the Middle Ages; where you had the royalty and then you had the nobility and you had the merchant class and then you have the peasants and so forth. But they don’t’ seem to realize what it actually meant. They have scenes where the spunky peasant girl tells off the pretty prince. The pretty prince would have raped the spunky peasant girl. He would have put her in the stocks and then had garbage thrown at her. You know.
    >I mean, the class structures in places like this had teeth. They had consequences. And people were brought up from their childhood to know their place and to know that duties of their class and the privileges of their class. It was always a source of friction when someone got outside of that thing. And I tried to reflect that.
It's very obvious they based the game off of the shitty show and not his books which were actually quite good before he increased the scope of them beyond what he could handle

If you read the full quote he doesn't literally mean he wants to look through Aragorn's Tax brackets, he's saying that being a great warrior or general doesn't mean you're going to be a great king and that things aren't as smooth or easy as fantasy stories usually make them out to be. Hundreds of years sleeping in the woods isn't a good education for running Gondorian politics

The funny thing is that this should be extremely obvious to anyone, yet for some reason it never is. There’s a great story about Augustus visiting the tomb of Alexander the Great in Egypt. The local priests told him how Alex despaired that he’d have nothing to do because he’s already conquered the world, but Augustus was baffled because as he saw it, the hardest part was actually ruling all that mess. And he was right.

Both are nonsense. You literally have a genealogy of Hobbits, with Sam desiring a girl and ending up with her. Neither Aragorn or Frodo have wealth or power until they complete their quest. Boromir has power, but fell to temptation. Legolas and Gimli both have wealth and power to some extent, but neither are human and react differently, Gimli being bragadocious about his family and Legolas aloof and only respecting the hidden king and maia of the fellowship at first.

    >you MUST watch this trashy show!
    >you MUST watch ALL 70 hours!!

All for a generic modern game that doesn't have anything going for it. Wow. I'd just quit if they wanted me to watch some garbage so we could copy it.
