Or they could just make a choice system during the exegutar island shenanigan on the first flute you get and pull a HGSS with the feathers and have the other flute be a postgame item. Tweak the evolution (and add a skip option for the long ass fialog and cutscenes) to have the player use the respective sum/moon flute when they reach a certain level and done a single game that accomplished the exact same thing but with added replay value to boot.
But it is? USUM are the only games to have 2 forms on the boxart.
I wish it was a permanent form instead of a temporary powerup so you could use it outside of USUM. We'll never get to see this guy in his full glory again because even if you have Dusk Mane or Dawn Wings Necrozma, you can't transform them, ever, once you trade them out of Alola.

honestly heatmor is super underrated and i wish it was available earlier in games so i could use it on a playthrough
they're never going to bring back its Ultra form because they're too dumb to create a new item that allows it to achieve that form without accessing Z-moves

It's a shame that both Perfect Zygarde and Ultra Necrozma are just temporary forme changes. Their designs are too good and radically different to their base formes to be wasted on battle-exlusive forme changes.

Alright real talk. Between every third legends with alternate forme (M Rayquaza, O Giratina, BW Kyurem, P Zygarde, U Necrozma, E Eternatus), who would be the first place and last place if they battled. Lorewise or gamewise welcomed.
I'll go with U Necrozma 1st with E Eternamax being the closest one. Giratina is the last place because his Origin Form is literally only switched his form
Pokemon literally cannot fight in the presence of Eternamax unless the wolves are there.
