Hitmonlee is the best one, it gets Hi Jump Kick only a few levels after evolving. The other two have really shit movepools
Top's only advantage over the others is rapid spin which has no use outside of competitive play
Go for Hitmonlee since it's the hard hitter
evolve into top for rapid spin then breed with a ditto to get hitmonlee with rapid spin
Hitmonchan is better in Gen 4 since the punches are physical
not enough to make it better than hitmonlee, so just has better stats and fighting moves
Hitmonlee has trash move type diversity.
doesn't really matter, your neutral hjk it's doing more than super effective elemental punches

Hitmomchan gets diversity for free
Hitmonlee can actually dish out damage with those moves

I like hitmonchan and it's actually very, very good early game but I think hitmonlee just works better

Hitmonchan brutally mogs the other options gen4+. Used it in johto from a tyrogue I lured in union cave in pokemmo, it saved my ass in a lot of fights. Its of course a fan game but it should handle the same in HGSS other than not being accessible until post lmao
Never used top. Chan is bad in this gen because it's trademark elemental punches are are special and it can't use them for shit.

It's a strength boulder, it can be moved down but not up. Shows you that there's a secret room up there with a different entrance that you should be on the lookout for.
hitmontop gets intimidate which is really good in nuzlockes and competitive, but the other two are better offensively
Crystal Legacy fixes this. You can reach him after Morty, he has a stronger team though
