Who knows, it's jarring though. I've got a physical collection of all the artbooks and it's weird seeing all of them have the same consistent artstyle, and then there's 4's that almost looks like a bootleg amidst the collection because of this.
Literally just look at any of the CGs for the first three games, and then compare it to a CG from the fourth game. The difference in artstyle is extremely bizarre.
Nekopara isn't exactly the type of series to have different "routes" since there's no choices to be made, but considering the ending of Vol. 4 has Shigure and all the other catgirls move into Kashou's place finally, and a 5th game having been promised a while back, I imagine something with Shigure is finally coming.
Forgot to add but the last page of the Vol. 4 artbook also states that 5 is going to be the ending, and will primarily focus on Shigure (and Fraise, ugh).
i played the first two and waited for the third to come out, but by the time it did I didn't really care enough to get it and play it. The games were alright, I think I mainly stuck to it because especially at the time I was interested in the kinds of stories where there's another species that has to start getting along with humans whether monster girls or robots or whatever.
The girls are cute, but all the dialog gay stories and voice-acting is just not worth it. It's the type of hardcore brain-smoothing stimulus that I could imagine turning incels into trannies.
I like Sayori's art style and the girls are cute but this game's story is some of the most mind numbingly inane shit I've ever forced myself to read through.
