it really fricking isn't, just like schizo wojaks aren't, you gigantic newbie zoomer
the original NWN campaign was low-effort and pretty tedious/unmemorable, aside for Aribeth's Fall.
Undrentide was very rushed, and rather bad.
HoTU was the definitive campaign everyone remembers.
it also had Premium Module DLCs which were essentially Paid Mods tier dlc. the program was terminated.
NWN2's campaign was what the frick were they smoking. Remember the Silver Sword of Gith? Yeah it was a red herring and had nothing to do with Gith. At all. You'd think the Silver Sword of Gith (not just a silver sword, but THE Silver Sword) would've had Vlaakith sending every damn githyanki in existence after the Player Character.
then MoB was the definitive xpac everyone remembers. Zehir was there. Westgate was Paid Mod. hell i think it was a remake of a NWN1 paid mod.
Which game do I start with? "Neverwinter Nights"? Do I install just the base game or all the expansions too right off the bat? I suppose the remastered version are garbage, like they always are, but is there a reason to go with that?
Remastered isn't garbage, unless you're the kind of moron who b***hes about a few extra GB.
Base game is garbage, the story is moronic.
Shadows of Undrentide is okay.
Hordes of the Underdark is great, but it's high level so maybe playing a low level game like SoU before is a good idea.
NWN2 base game is garbage.
Mask of the Betrayer is the best RPG you'll ever play in the NWN series, including custom modules. It's the climax of the series.
Storm of Zehir is interesting but very hit or miss.
NWN remastered is okay, it's the kind of remaster that brings the complete package and makes sure it works on modern machines and resolutions. I 100%'d it recently and had a good time - base campaign is meh, but the expansions are pretty decent all things considered
I hate that NWN2 will never get an Enhanced Edition, solely because the original game is poorly optimized as shit. This is the D&D that needed it the most to run worth a damn.
Play Storm of Zehir, and go to the first actual town you can go in. You have to turn the shadows as low as possible, or the framerate will drop to complete shit, no matter your specs.
It's like that throughout NWN2, but it's especially bad in that particular area.
Nah. Just reset your pc and it will work fine. No joke, it's something about the way it's coded that makes the fps go down if your PC has been on for a long time.
a couple months ago 8 bought a copy pf neverwinter nights at a flea market for 2 bucks.
after installing I found out that it's the French-only version. you can't change the language to anything else.
I don't speak a word of French.
Remastered is weird because they've spent a lot of time fixing a lot of old, strange engine limitations (Attributes limited to 50, unintended stance interactions, npc pathfinding, body-blocking and other such things) but for a game where people aren't generally making new user content and where old content was sometimes built with those limitations in mind.
kek this was me, I still summoned my skelly warrior between every encounter. Sometimes he could land like 3-4 useful hits before falling dead to a passing gust of wind
Many years later in EE I tried to mod it into something useful, but I fell asleep bored by the time I finished the tutorial
The original release and server list and player list and modules was still a better experience than FFXIV and World Warcraft if your thinking about the artwork. It only happened that one time.
>8 DLCs
it's okay when boomers do it!
>DL
Those weren't DLCs. Those are full expansions. Played every single one of em, 50+ hours of content for $30 wasn't a bad deal.
Thanks for including bait to keep the thread going.
>8 dlc
one is the base game
one is a brand new game
4 are expansions
2 are dlc (mysteries and kingmaker)
I hate zoomers so much, bros..

Are the original base campaigns really as bad as people say?

Anyways who the frick posted this. God damn had me laughing.
mask of the betrayer was better than most RPGs ive played
Both the epic level expansions are top tier
motb & hotu ruled
Which game do I start with? "Neverwinter Nights"? Do I install just the base game or all the expansions too right off the bat? I suppose the remastered version are garbage, like they always are, but is there a reason to go with that?
Neverwinter Nights. Base game should be fine. Remastered is garbage because it's too big: I was gonna get it except it's 7 gigs for ONE game.
Remastered isn't garbage, unless you're the kind of moron who b***hes about a few extra GB.

Shit like this is why compression is a dead art.

GOG version works fine on my modern machine.

I'll give that a shot next time I boot it up, thx anon
Wasn't resetting your PC the fix to the offline rubberbanding bug?
God NWN2 had such stupid technical issues
second game I heard this works. Deadly Premonition was the 1st I've heard about that.
I can't into pc. But I think it has something to do with memory leak.
It's a 2006 game, what's wrong with it?
neverwinternights 2 but it's erp in the roleplay scene
nwn2 was garbage compared to nwn
hordes of the underdark was amazing

hon hon hon
Good way to learn, it's turn based and pauseable, and immersion works wonders.

Still better off than NWN2 I guess.
I was thinking about playing NWN recently. Just not through the campaigns again. What modules would you recommend anons?
The rogue "porn" module. Can't remember the name. It's genuinly a good game.
I forgot to. Shame, it had such a cool dance with rogues too
>Gives you Femdom fetish
>Play NW1 as a child super hyped for animate dead spell cause i can be a necromancer yay
>Skeletal Chieftain spawns with 15hp and dies to first Slaan
The disappointment was immeasurable

I keep looking but ADWR part 2 enhanced isn't out yet.
Wake me up when it is.
Is NWNEE worth getting? Instead of the original?
