I played AssCreed VR and it felt like an idea for a game, not a proper game. 0 mechanical depth, cluimbing barely works, no coherent story(the story is a tie in to some other games), 3 protagonists for some reason, 3 settings, 15 maps ... yet every one plays like VR game from 2016 with 0 things to do but frick around with broken AI.
VR needs game, not "VR games", why wont they port Akham city and assylum to quest 3? Quest 3 is like 10x faster than a switch, and they ported batman games to that.
Upgrade textures, add VR specific contrrols and fricking do that, i dont want another AssCreed VR tech demo.

The same way it works in real life, you punch people in the face and block with your hands while evading with your body. There's a bunch of boxing games in VR and they work just as you would expect.

Just look at something like Bulletstorm VR, even on Quest 3 it has to run at 36fps and use Application SpaceWarp to duplicate the frames in order to reach the minimum 72hz.

quest 3 is rocking a Snapdragon XR2 gen2, Adreno 740 gpu with 4teraflop power and 8gb ram, thats 2x better than a ps4, the only compromise is the memory bandwith
but yeah, the resolution is the real problem, big resolutions mean a lot of ram spend on framebuffer, and deferred rendering eats up even more, you cant get away with a lot of shit you can in lower resolutions, and that on top of the 4k native render costs, gotta go back to forwarded rendering with VR for sure if you want for it to run fast
still, im just baffled how bad those games look for how strong those chips are, the headsets almost burst on fire by how much power its easting, yet it translates to almost no improvement over quest 2, meanwhile my smatphone with a much weaker snapdragon runs native 1440p games at 120 fps, its kinda silly

it dosnt render things twice, instead think of it at rendering two things at the same time, you can reuse the ram assets for both renders, and you can do both in one raster pass as a bigger frame
so basically you want to get ~4k 90fps, which is a challenge, but older games will run like that just fine, anything from ps3 era should run fine ... if ported right
