For this to have absolutely any meaning at all, they should have randomized the order the origin characters are displayed. Or only include selections made by players who watched every character's intro.
So they give the number of origin characters created and the percentage of characters that created a custom character. Surely, we can infer the number of people that bought the game from this? I'm to lazy to do it rn.
>1.3 million people finished the game >17.6% of people have finished the game on Steam
Assuming the completion rate is similar on GOG and PS5, that's ~7.5 million copies sold.
According to my maths that's 33 million characters created in total, but characters created =/= unique players. If we assume the average person had created 3-4 characters that's 8-10~ million, which sounds about right.
But if we factor in the fact that most players haven't even finished the game. Also I doubted that most people would have 3-4 custom characters for a game they haven't even finished once yet.
Yeah, but there's a lot of people who restart the game because they don't like their character and want to make a new one. They then get bored and quit the game altogether. I think 3-4 character average per player is reasonable assumption.
You seriously underestimate the amount of people who keep restarting because they want to play as a new race. This is a big issue with crpgs that give you tons of customization options.
This here states that 14.4 million characters have been disintegrated
Which is about half the assumed total amount of characters created. I don't think there's any source of disintegration in act 1 so that would mean that people are waiting till act 2 to change characters 3-4 times?

Sounds about right I guess. When making new chars I almost always lose steam around the end of act 2 before deciding to make a new character. Often times its as early as the goblin encounter at the gate. Especially if you use a ton of mods and you cant decide on what character to stick with.

And this one says that 51% of players have reached the final act of sharts romance. Which would be act 3. So that would mean that players are creating new characters once they've reached sharts final scene in act 3. What's more it would mean that they're only choosing shart across multiple different characters. Doesn't make sense tbqh.

At least Giths are no longer the least popular race. They were less popular than the midget races at launch. Though it looks like they only just barely beat out Dwarfs. That combined with the Lae'zel stats, though.... People really dislike Giths. Maybe they should've tried making them less ugly?
If you dont like Laezel at her ugliest, you don't like Laezel. They're freaky grating frog people they aren't supposed to be beautiful elves. People like you are no better than anyone complaining about "not all orcs!"
Of course it’s the white characters. Wyll is thematically the character I would play if I were to use an origin character but, unfortunately, he’s black. Who wants to subject themselves to playing as a black person? Maybe I’ll download a race fixing mod

A lot of people are spoiled about the emperor and many goody two shoes roleplayers are justified in not wanting to trust the catfishing mindflayer. God I wish there was an option to kill him as early as possible
I just really don't like being told on what to do and how much the guy keeps telling you to become a mindflayer to save everyone. There really needs to be a ending where you just tell all divinities to frick off and forge your own path instead of being their slave in one way or the other.
It's very clearly pushed in your face to be a bad thing to even think about doing that shit. Majority players are too scared to do the obviously bad thing for fear of a game over.

I know that it's the dumb meme but I can't see how 66% of players asked for bear sex. Halsin is such a boring character who spends half the game kidnapped or finding excuses to not be in the party, he has to be Wyll levels of unpopular.
This exact image is why I won't be playing this game. Frick everything else, the woke pandering, the over-emphasis on sex and relationships, the larian-style combat (throwing furniture, environmental damage), the cringe companions. When the most popular class is a Berserker Barbarian, and the most popular Rogue is Beast Master, you know the 5e system has been ported over horrendously.
Berserker simply reduces the most annoying aspect of combat, which is missing your attacks. Enraged strike and rage makes it so that every hit you make does at least 80% chance to hit on top of being able to chain multiple actions in 1 turn. Enjoying killing bosses in 1 or 2 turns just unga bungaing.
I said >the 5e system has been ported over horrendously.
Can you read? Have you ever played DnD, 5e specifically? Not a single of those things are something the Berserker Barb does, except possibly additional attacks as bonus actions, IF THEY FRENZY, which confers a level of exhaustion upon ending.
Pretty sure exhaustion is a mechanic but with zerk barb you kinda finish battles too quickly for you to ever get exhausted and suffer the disadvantage debuffs.

Exhaustion is a mechanic you would get in 5e for not long-resting once every 24 hours. Since there isn't a day/night cycle like in literally every fricking normal RPG, that's impossible, so it isn't in the game. Some curses, cursed items, spells, and the Berserker Barb FRENZY do that as well. Not in BG3, however. This is one of the smaller changes though, comparing the game to the tabletop system makes you realise it's barely inspired by it, nevermind a faithfully port.
You mean they made classes that aren't Wizard good?
Yeah, Larian did that.
I bet it pisses you off that Monk is probably the best sustained melee class in the game, doesn't it?
You just don't understand statistics lmao. The most popular class is not Berserker Barbarian. Out of Barbarians, the most popular subclass is Berserker.
Most people pick barbarian for the express purpose of unga bungaing. Wild magic is FUNNY but not good. And most people who want to be funny animal men are going to pick druid.
