So it automatically respecs when you change class?

This is gonna make whiny naysayers happy, but I kinda wish he stuck to his guns, here
It's such a non-issue, just upgrade your shit
yes, if you play 10 levels with warrior and change to sorc, it woudl be as if you had played 10 levels with sorc, its temporary based on the vocation you're using.
This is from the TGS demo footage, the two on the right are the same character that changed into mage and sorc from thief (as you can see on the name, height, level)
That's quite a game to reference, my first thought was Braver/Buster in the portable Phantasy Star games.
Don't remember much about EE anymore, played AK more.
More are coming. I believe.
Just your screen resolution. I'm still convinced there are a few more yet unrevealed, though.
>Made a list of things I wished they would put in DD2 >At the top was a "Seneschal" vocation that could freely mix and match weapons, skills, and spells >Think there's next to no chance of it being in >Itsuno: "Actually, it is." audibly lols
This gay-earth doesn't deserve this paragon of humanity. I hope he makes lots and lots of money off of this game, I'm going to pray to God for that to happen tonight.
Jack of all trades master of none. But it probably will be busted just because of some cheese method with swapping weapons and Capcom will have to force a patch on everyone.
kek, itsuno seen how "hardswappers" play elden ring (while making casuals eternally seethe) and made an entire vocation based on it. Absolutely based autist
basically, but not just recovery. tryhards have gotten autistically fast as swapping weapons via the menu to the point were they'll do it every 10 seconds or so to take advantage of every possible different situation, and they have the inventory menu laid out perfectly with 10 - 15 copies of each weapon (cheated into the game) to make swaps as quick as possible.
There's no swap animation from the inventory, so it's very abusable.
I mean, I loved playing Assassin because I could use swords, daggers, shields and bow. Now that means I can finally cast Gale Harness and Immolation at the same time (which I did with the mod anyways).
How are we feeling about the new vocation? I'm liking the look of it. Warfarer seems meant for the players who played solo or don't like to rely on pawns too much, sort of like the opposite of trickster.
how are we feeling? how are we feeling?
homie, I wanted a MK and now I'll be able to play as one
homie, I wanted a Priest and now I'll be able to play as one
homie, I wanted to have ranged options while playing Fighter and I'll have those
this is fricking great, very very nice idea
>homie, I wanted a MK and now I'll be able to play as one >homie, I wanted a Priest and now I'll be able to play as one >homie, I wanted to have ranged options while playing Fighter and I'll have those >this is fricking great, very very nice idea
You won't have any of that, you can just swap vocations, not create a mixed one. You can't use your spells while using a sword and shield
>Gut Strider, Ranger and Magick Archer because muh balance >Just kidding bro, here's your mix and match vocation back, but you get three weapons and skillset now, lmao
I would have honestly preferred they kept vocations with two weapon types or gave a vocation swap as a baseline, or really just an entirely new vocation.
This is the usual caveat of making hard class systems but wanting the customization cake and eating it, it's silly and never ends well.
Re-reckoning is a genuinely solid time. Never played the original, apparently the remaster balanced things better. I liked going evenly on heavy melee weapons and magic.
Re-reckoning is a genuinely solid time. Never played the original, apparently the remaster balanced things better. I liked going evenly on heavy melee weapons and magic.
>Think Strider and Assassin with sword and bow are back >It's actually a weapon swap >But your stats are worse
This is fricking gay
They could have given us a cool specialized green vocation with curved greatsword and a dodge and they gave us this crap
MK here.
It's a little monkey's paw to me, I don't care for weapon switching in these kind of games in general. I think it takes a lot away from class identity and usually feels underbaked. (frick you FFXV, frick you GW2) but I'll reserve judgement to see how it is to make freeform combos with just a couple of weapons I like anyway since I love making builds.
I won't care too much even if it sucks since I'll be doing Mystic Spearhand first anyway.
Potentially a huge upgrade, depending on how exactly this works. You have to switch to suit the situation, but you can still mimic the playstyle of combining defensive magic and swordplay.
I hope Magic Shields return in some fashion.
what does it matter if your stats are lowered when you can always hit the weakest stat of the enemy to compenstate? when they didn't actually fix the item chugging of the first game so you just cheese every fight with iframe/stunlock moves because you get to have all the perks of warrior without the downsides of having 2 good skills and 0 ability to fight something off the ground
>you can always hit the weakest stat of the enemy to compenstate?
I guess the skill slots will still be limited to 4? so you have to pick and choose between melee, ranged and magic skills
>9 vocations and then a 10th that has nothing unique on its own
this is a cool feature but it's also them admitting making a dozen different combos of all the new vocations they added was too much work so if you want red+greed just make it yourself lol
People would be fine with DD2's green+yellow literally just being Thief+Archer aka Strider 2.0. With this we get Strider 2.0 and any other mixed vocation they could have otherwise made. So it's pretty good.
Unless every vocation has something locked away that Warfarer can't access, it has to be a huge stat negative, for it to not be absolutely broken. I'm hoping that it's around 33% lower stats and vocations have something exclusive that warfarer doesn't have. It'll still be the best vocation in the game. The versatility is way too powerful.
Fricking based itsuno
Really kept that one in the bag huh
Lowered overall stats in exchange for loads of vocations on tap is okay by me
Bit worried about the fewer skills for each, I remember disliking playing ranger because his dagger skills are so meh, but that's the trade off, I just hope they have enough fun cool skills in the weapons I like so that I don't feel too gimped playing it
Pretty sure itsuno can do no (zero) wrong
>Samurai-style vocation, learned from foreign warrior NPC >two different sets of skills, depending on if you have your weapon sheathed or not >iaijutsu for when it's sheathed for quick-draw style attacks with your katana >fully drawn has you elegantly cut away through your foes
I want it.
>Brawler/Grappler with the current unarmed moveset and specialiced on grapples. >Monk advanced, with no grappling but a swifter hand to hand moveset. >Alchemist hybrid with DDO stuff.
Do you think Warfarer will let you use EVERYTHING, or make you pick a loadout? I hope it's the latter because then you really get to create a custom class.
Fighter maister and a swordsman who has long served the fortress village of Melve.
With his exceptional swordsmanship and leadership skills, he has held the fort and protected the land from the Dragon.
Though already retired, his skills show no signs of waning. >the fortress village of Melve.
Yes, god more settlements are in.
>instead of having to swap between warrior and sorcerer, the only two good jobs, I can now just be both
ok itsuno I'll pay your 90 dollars canadian you piece of shit
me on the left. i'm gonna focus down on warrior and sorcerer then do the uber vocation as my endgame vocation and use muh big sword and spam firewalls.
my pawn will be a beautiful Elf Ranger.
Don't care, still playing as Dante. Also the ultimate abilities in DD were often crap >Arc isn't good for Warrior unless you get the Bitterblack ring and abuse gravity >Spells like Bolide are actually just worse than Comestion by far
that's probably the case. and I hope it's the case, because as awesome as it is, I don't want the vocation invalidating all the other ones
it's already going to be the most fun vocation by far, it doesn't need to be the most powerful on top of it
>And Warfarer is probably also losing the R1 skill for the swapping
You can't even aim your bow without the R1 skill, so no. We also saw the mage-warfarer quick casting.
I've been saying for a while that the demo build probably doesn't even have some vocations implemented at all, so there would be no way for them to "leak".
>what else were they hiding?
Pretty much everything, since they keep showing the same areas and monsters.
Even the master stuff was pretty well hidden since he unlocked vocations by finding weapons and not masters.
>stuff was pretty well hidden since he unlocked vocations by finding weapons
Will this be still in? I wonder if advanced vocations are unlocked through quests and hybrid ones through masters.
>monk gets revealed >be warfarer >swap to sorcerer and cast some crazy shit then proceed to go hand to hand and punch frickers in the face
itsuno my god please
>I'd rather have had a few more unique niche vocations
Trust the plan.
I'd find it weird to show specialized classes after revealing the ultimate class, but honestly I don't know what to expect anymore so I'm just getting off the internet when it comes out and then trying to enjoy the game.
At this point they might not even show them. Warfarer is too unique not to show off, but I won't be surprised to find out there are a few more hidden vocations at launch. Or maybe they'll just put them in the launch trailer.
they kept a lid on officially spoiling Vergil until launch, which you may note we are two months out from for DD2

I'm not saying they don't have a lot more to show considering the game is still almost 2 months off, I'd just advise you to start avoiding marketing from now on because they WILL spoil the shit out of everything.

Wait a minute Anon, Vergils voice actor was the one that leaked DMC5 a solid year before the teaser trailer came out >Yeah, it’s great to be working with Reuben (Dante’s VA) and Capcom again >turns to Reuben >Wait we can talk about that right? >Reuben has a stressed look in his face >No
4 months ago
Anonymous
that was a little oopsy poopsy, official marketing didn't spoil him until the launch trailer
maybe I just stopped keeping up with the news but I feel like a lot of the crazier parts of dantes kit weren't like quad S, irregular full custom letting you remove all your weapons so you have to royal guard/lucifer rose things to death, and double rocket launcher
>Trickster is revealed and completely bows all patterns out of the water >>Cool, but I'm worried that's the big reveal... >Wayfarer revealed and blows even more patterns and doomposting out of the water >>Cool, but I'm worried that's the big reveal...
Unarmed is a pretty obvious one, altough I don't see it working color-wise.
Maybe something with flails or morning stars, dunno. Crossbows? Any still unused medieval weaponry is a good guess.
100% same
I actually won't use it for my first 2 runs, but it's a net win for the game. I'm sure lots of people will love literally being Dante with it
What do you think the "there's only 9 vocations" people are doing right now?
I don’t know if this arisen exclusive due to complexity but if it’s not I’m immediately making a Dante Vergil duo if it is I’m making a Godhand’s Gene Pawn and setting him to monk.
There’s supposed to be ‘Masters’ of vocations that are supposed to teach you something so it’s either going going to be unique findable skills or a upgraded version of whatever vocation you’re using
So think about it this way:
Mage to Sorcerer to ????
or
“Hey since we’re friends now do you want to learn how to drop the moon on someone’s skull?”
I wouldn’t say it’s stopped at just 10 but I’m riding high on hype
Swapping weapons isn't a real vocation. It also confurms that there won't be more as the last hud slot was taken and Warfarer is the ultimate "endgame" class mixing all 9 vocations but with shittier stats and without their best skills.
9 vocation posting was 100% correct, and many theorized the "Arisen" final class as mix of all 9
Assassin in DD1 had its unique skills at least, like countering with sword or gouge. But in general Assassin (despite being my main vocation) always felt super cheap to me in how little it added being just a remix of skills and weapons from other vocations.
Assassin had several completely unique skill that no other vocation had.
The shill narrative for DD2 was that it would have vocations with only 1 weapon each but all vocations were unique unlike MK and Assassin. Now we have a lazy weapon swap "10th" vocation that isn't even a proper multi-classing with cool hybrid abilities, just a lazy animation-less weapon swap

>just a lazy animation-less weapon swap
Kind of necessary because the idea is to let you quickly switch between vocations to respond to different situations. There would be very little reason to have Fighter or Warrior skills for a counter if you had to wait 2 seconds to switch to your Sword and Shield or Longsword first. It's literally Dante style switching as a vocation.

The idea of "versatility" with a gutted class is moronic. Switching vocations at any campfire would have been infinitely better than getting
Yeah I said exactly that. Having one vocation with a generalized job swap is a different thing from releasing rehashed combos with different stat growth/augments and some skills swapped around.
Assassin could use swords and bow, or daggers and shield, besides its unique skills
No matter how you try to justify it, Warfarer doesn't have access to the best skills and stats of each vocation nor has unique skills of its own. Could have at least been a great way to create Assassin/MK style hybrid classes out of Fighter and Mage or Thief and Archer with some unique skills.

they already demonstrated some pretty neat combos, like making the ice platform to get a jumping attack off or luring a monster to charge with arrows to parry the frick out of it. The interesting part of the vocation is figuring out combos like that that you wouldn't be able to pull off normally.

>9 vocations and then a 10th one that's just picking your loadout from the other 9
I'm excited to play this class but why are you deliberately misinterpreting the complaint people have about "only 9 vocations" aka there's only a red+blue and yellow+blue combo vocation instead of all the other colors? how red+green is just "you can use a sword or knives" instead of a unique weapon like the actual hybrid classes?
both of the hybrids in this game do. even if you're going to pretend magic bows don't count even though they work completely different from normal bows and can't use special ammo, you have to be a mystic spearhand to use a spear in dd2.
I am still here. Basically everything I said was true together with maybe leaving a single one hidden. To be honest it's still basically 9 vocations as far as my reasoning about weapons, UI, no hybrids mixing weapons from two vocations (now super dead since there is one that does it all) was, but with a twist that there is an everything class that doesn't seem to bring anything new but remixes what we have.
it all comes down to how good the ults are. And Warfarer is probably also losing the R1 skill for the swapping
>Warfarer is probably also losing the R1 skill for the swapping
This'll probably be the class' real weakness >wfsorc cant speed up spells >wfmage cant heal >wfspear cant teleport
>wfsorc cant speed up spells
Except we've already seen it do that
Also for most of the vocations R1 is their most central ability
Who would play Fighter but you can't use your shield, Archer but you can't aim your bow, Thief but you can't run...
Seems like it's going to be variable refresh rate for the PS5 version? Some clips are 60fps and others are like 30-40. Forcing VRR on everyone seems to be the next gen thing.
not really, assuming this plays similarly to the first >no lock-on >has stamina meter for special moves and running >you're locked to 3-6 weapon skills >you can cling onto big enemies >you can grab and throw smaller staggered enemies >there are delay button combos >combat is much slower than dmc5 >combos aren't as long and cool >name of the game is falling big enemies to dps their weak spot
think of DD as a hybrid of DMC and Monhun
forgot how mad I was in DD1 when you couldn't have sword and spear at the same time with mystic knight. Ironically the only reason I got into dark souls 1.
>New shield icon >Vocations are hidden behind special Maister NPC's
IT'S OVER, DISCORD TROONS.
SAMURAI CLASS IS IN.
HALF A DOZEN OTHER VOCATIONS ARE ALSO IN.
>itsuno saw all the people using the unlock all mod and instead of getting mad thought it was a damn good idea
ULTRA based, I was even just thinking about how fun trickster looks but I didn't want to be stuck using only that moveset
I think Wayfarer looks cool as frick, or even "too cool". I keep thinking why would I play Warrior or Thief if I can play Wayfarer who can do almost(?) all the same things but also gets a billion new goodies extra? I'm genuinely not doomposting, even if the vocation is shit/great it doesn't matter, just trying to theorize here.
It will most likely be an "Ultimate Vocation" only attainable at endgame after you get to be a master of a bunch of other vocations and completed a lenghty questline.
>I keep thinking why would I play Warrior or Thief if I can play Wayfarer who can do almost(?) all the same things but also gets a billion new goodies extra?
Because you're going to have to fully master Warrior or Thief before you can start using their abilities on Warfarer. By the time it actually becomes worth using you'll have played every other vocation for dozens of hours already.
presumably its damage will just suck compared to a specialized class and thats about it. I could also seem them limiting you to fewer active skills on each weapon set so you get a varied amount of abilities but your individual options are worse than the base class would be.
He made a pretty good point though in how something can be "too cool". If it's definitely better than all the other vocations, then it will diminish those vocations in turn, obviously. Personally I think there will be some kind of clever limitation to it.
The limitation is that you're going to be playing every other vocation before Warfarer becomes crazy, and it's supposed to have a much higher mechanical skill ceiling than other vocations. Aside from reducing your base stats, Warfarer's versions of skills might also have lower scaling values than the originals' so doing all that crazy shit will probably still be worse than just mashing the tenfold flurry equivalent on archer.
Yeah, arguing what will be the most broken right now is pointless if they can't iron out balancing
No one would have looked at Strider and said 'oh yeah, that helm splitter is gonna 10x every other skill in the game'
If Warfarer's drawback is 'lower stats' then I feel like it's all but confirmed that stats are now tied your equipped Vocation rather than what you level up as.
Otherwise you could min/max your level ups then switch to Warfarer for no penalty.
Either there's a spear vocation or guards get non-player movesets
what's your favorite?
>arisen >champion >dragonchosen
EN got the worst >"arisen" as a class
So when you fight the false Arisen he'll be using warfarer-like skills. Probably be something like Daimon only he cycles through sets.
Japanese is pretty literal with all of its titles. Monster Hunter is the same way where the rest of the world got adapted names while the Japanese ones were extremely literal.
It'll probably be some dumb shit like Fallen or Dark One.
>or guards get non-player movesets
I don't think you believe this, but it's insane cope if anyone does
There is zero chance he bothered making that spear for random guards when any longsword would suffice
If I'm wrong and we don't have a Lancer vocation I'll cum into my own mouth, and then think of a punishment for being wrong
I hope there are more vocations but Warfarer feels like a 'final' reveal type of thing.
It would odd for the marketing to go >THE WARFARER >COMBINE ALL THE PREVIOUS VOCATIONS TO MAKE THE PERFECT PLAYSTYLE FOR (You) >BE CAREFUL THOUGH, AS THIS VOCATION HAS LOWER STATS. ONLY THOSE WHO HAVE TRULY MASTERED THE GAME WILL USE THIS VOCATION TO IT'S FULL POTENTIAL
>and now for our next vocation announcement >THE SPEARMAN >HE USES >A SPEAR 🙂
There's only like one month left. Chances are the next trailer will e a story oriented one since this was the Action Trailer. They'll probably just hint at other vocations with new NPCs they show.
It might be the final revealed vocation, but I do feel as if a few more will be kept as a surprise on release. Remember that even if you're working towards Warfarer, every other class unlocked will enhance it.
>Probably because the Arisen in Japanese is called 覚者, but the vocation is literally just アリズン. Would be a bit confusing in English.
Then that's much more understandable.
Still, I feel like they could've picked their brains a little more to come up with a better name.
it's probably more like they picked arisen back in DD1 (i have no complaints about it, it was cool and remains cool to this day)
except now the nips dropped Arisen as the new class name which fricks over the already established term for the PC
either they change Arisen as player name (frick no) or they change the class name (unfortunate, but less terrible)
in Japanese they use "kakusha" (awakened) for the person chosen by the dragon, while the vocation uses the english name
arisen = kakusha (覚者)
warfarer = arisen (アリズン - arizun)
Sounds like enemy pawns. Which would be pretty great actually. >your pawn appears in other peoples games as differnet mobs.
That would give a lot more reason for the pawn system to exist.
pawns have a chance to get sick
they perform stronger while sick
but if they get too sick they turn against you
I assume you have to kill or send them back before they progress to far
>Capcom didn’t have the technology, budget or time to do Dragons Dogma the way they envisioned >2 just looks like realized Dragons Dogma
ARE WE GOING TO THE MOON?
>whole engine was created with a sole purpose to go to the moon >every game tries to reach the moon >none can
>the Resident Evil Remakes were to fund the dream all along >The new combat tech in DMC5 is being utilized >Street Fighter 6 character customization was practically a taster >Monster Hunter World/Rise gave them some practice animating monsters
Itsuno you madman, You bastard. You had this planned all along
To be fair, Rise's expanded what was already being done in Iceborne. They expanded Tailriders and Ace Cadet fights with you the first time you fight Fatalis. You have to get through the first phase of Fatalis, get the cutscene where Ace Cadet gets fricking (not)killed, then you can SOS or do multiplayer versions of the Fatalis hunt.
[...] >the Resident Evil Remakes were to fund the dream all along >The new combat tech in DMC5 is being utilized >Street Fighter 6 character customization was practically a taster >Monster Hunter World/Rise gave them some practice animating monsters

>The Pawn tech was being tooled with in Monster Hunter Rise followers
Oh shit wait what if the Cameo system from DMC5 makes a return? Like there’s some castle that’s has some weird other worldly magic and you peak through the crack in the wall and see another arisen crew wrecking shop?
I'd be fine if we don't get too the moon so long as we have more world state changes like DD1's postgame.
what's with this lumpy-ass dragon anyway?
I think it's a false dragon like there's a false arisen, or maybe the false arisen turns into the dragon? Probably something to do with dragonsplague. Could also just be an ur-dragon style boss.
It's just weird that they're revealing this one now. This is one that you'd reveal last to cap everything off as it combines all the roles... or if you're keeping some vocations hidden this is one of the ones you wouldn't reveal at all.
From a marketing perspective, this one was a poor choice as now people might rightly think it's all of them, when they're might actually be more.
>This is one that you'd reveal las
maybe it's the last they reveal
doesn't mean it's the last one to be in the game, they don't have to reveal everything pre-release.
At this point they might not even show them. Warfarer is too unique not to show off, but I won't be surprised to find out there are a few more hidden vocations at launch. Or maybe they'll just put them in the launch trailer.
Either hidden or in the launch trailer. But yeah, I'm assuming they won't make any more dedicated vocation trailers at this point.
I just looked it up and it's not that old. Somebody touched one of the first results a few hours ago tho which almost fricked me up. Still I can see why the word went out of usage. Shit's unwieldy in modern tongue.
I respect the attempt to find something neat to use, but Arisen is just too good not to use for a class like this. Plus it almost feels like a wink wink nudge nudge D&D battlemaster in the English version.
I don't get the mentality that everything will be spoiled before release. Has there ever been an open world game that spoiled everything before release?
>want a DD sequel for years >get really excited when it's revealed >burn out on video games for a while and don't really keep up with the news once they start showing off gameplay footage >see the new vocation trailer when I got home from work today >mfw my hype explodes back into the stratosphere
Catching up and Trickster looks really fun too, feels really nice to actually look forward to something again.
Considering the new Dragonsplague trait pawns can get, it’s diseased and that’s probably going to be the main driving force of the plot. It’ll probably cause some effect to the people as well so the Arisen is the only one that can stop it
I'm guessing it's probably something to do with the False-Arisen. Either the False-Arisen becoming said False-Arisen breaks the cycle in a way and causes the Dragonplague as a fail-safe of the Cycle that tries to wipe out the ruined world.
Or it's the new Ur-Dragon
I wonder if there's a way where you can trigger the Dragonsplague early in NG+ since I don't see them letting that happening in a fresh game. Or they could because Itsuno is a mad man
The Dragonplague in itself is probably to give the story more stakes. In DD1, Grigori does very little between smashing Cassardis, then showing up to kidnap Fournival and go "FIGHT ME IF YOU'VE LEVELED UP ENOUGH homosexual".
Having the Dragon be the source of a plague or something similar makes his presence and effect on the world more tangible without directly showing him to the audience. You can't have him appear in-game early without some autist whittling him down at like Level 7.
Dragonplague doesn't seem to be related to the cycle at all since it specifically mentions being something contracted while traversing the Rift. The Rift itself crosses parallel worlds.
Even BBI in Dark Arisen was actually from a different world line that came into DD1s world line. BBI also introduced corrupted pawns in the first place.
>inb4 you can actually go shorter and the 150cm limit is because they are offline pawns, just how you coulnd't get e-girl sized offline pawns on DD1
IGN's character creator showcase was so shit it wouldn't surprise me.
Advanced Green: Rogue. While Rogue's wield an axe for combat they're true specialty is to use bombs, tools and traps to gain the upper hand.
Advanced Yellow: Arbalest. Crossbow with specialized bolts. Some are powered with elements such as fire, electricity, holy while others are to pin enemies to terrain, each other. Hookshot type ability too.
Red + Green: Ronin. Traveling swordsman from a distant land, wielding a katana. Fast, cutting attacks and focuses on parries and counters.
I've seen that I meant more in the gameplay sections shown. Also don't really see the night sky there. That they're hiding the night sky is a good thing mind you. If the moon is back it's fricking time bros.
Yes but hang on now. I see what that screenshot has in the video but right after the camera moves back to where the "moon" should have been and it was gone. Maybe there's some lore frickery, maybe it was a bug, maybe time just moves fast as frick in this video. In any case, watch for the skies anon.
When DMC5 finally launched he made a video crying and apologizing (I think he might’ve been drunk from a launch party) that it took so long, this man truly loves his work, but he also loves his fanbase
My faith is shaky but my trust is strong. I get how bad he wants it.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH THE MOON THE MOON THE MOON THE MOON THE MOON THE MOON THE MOON THE MOON THE MOON THE MOON THE MOON THE MOON THE MOON THE MOON THE MOON THE MOON THE MOON THE MOON THE MOON THE MOON THE MOON THE MOON THE MOON THE MOON THE MOON THE MOON THE MOON THE MOON THE MOON THE MOON
Nice to have the 9 vocations BS blown out of the water.
Seems like a jack of all traits kind of vocation, not something I'd really feel like using unless it has some good augments to snatch up. Would be great to switch from being a warrior to a bow wielder just for the metal golem though.
Calling it now, there will be an unarmed maister even if there's no monk class (unlikely, trust the plan) he will teach you suplex and tatsumaki and kaioken
cool that it's there for people that like this kinda thing, but it feels very anti-RP. When I play any kind of game with a character creator, I like to RP a specific character and get into their role so I'll probably never touch this class. For my first playthrough im gonna try and recreate Godfrey in the hopes that there's two-handed axes for the warrior class.
I also feel this was a poor choice to reveal now, if there's more vocations to come. It feels very "final", like they were saying all vocations have been shown so the "only 9 vacations" meme was basically correct as this one isn't adding anything new.
>People expecting 9 vocations >Ninth revealed is something no one was predicting or even imagining >Warfarer is revealed and is CUHRAZEE >Further speculation and discussion, lots of fun imagining the combos, getting to go all out with loads of combinations of loadouts >Reveal an 11th vocation later on >Hype train and discussions get bigger
Being able to double jump as an otherwise pure red vocation would be really cool. But with how damage worked in DD1, the reduced stats are kind of a steep price. Replaying just now, a single upgrade can decide whether your weapon deals chip damage or wrecks the opponent.
Probably 4 skills same as how you could equip 10 of any vocation passive back in DD1.
Or more who the frick knows. It'll also depend on how weapon switching will even work.
Nah. DD1 had actually shortcuts so it wasn't an issue using lantern. But I'm pretty sure 99% of players never heard about shortcuts. It's kinda hidden. Easy to miss
BBI has literal pitch black sewers where your lantern goes dark as soon as you go too deep or get knocked over. I hope they at least make relighting it less of a pain. Going into the menu to unequip it, then watching the unequipping animation, then equipping it and watching the equipping animation can stay in 2012.
Best case uses for this vocation? I think fighting living armor would be much much easier
Solo or main pawn only runs, getting around enemies that are hard walls to your style, "main character" players.
So with the new trailer coming out and finally necking the discord troons let's put together a list of all the evidence in support of and against the idea of more classes that are yet to be seen.
In support: >several classes from the previous game including advanced and hybrid vocations have yet to be seen (not including strider which is pretty definitively split between archer and thief) >hybrid vocation shown that uses two colors we've never seen base classes for, yet it is still called a hybrid and follows the color rules of other hybrid classes. Warfarer proves that having multicolored backgrounds is not just because it is Arisen exclusive, it is specifically there because it is a cross between two other vocations >footage of NPCs using a weapon that does not align with any of the currently seen classes, implying it belongs to a new class since devs likely wouldn't model unique weapons for random town NPCs to just have on their person for no reason >IGN reviewer confirms warfarer was nowhere to be seen in the version of the game they were given, proving that the promotional build does not have all the classes in it >trailer confirms that just because we haven't seen a vocation yet obviously doesn't mean they don't exist, and they are clearly withholding information in the leadup to the release of the game
evidence against: >promotional tshirt only has 9 (BTFO by warfarer) >one old menu image showed 3 ? icons for vocations making a total of 9 (BTFO by the IGN confirmation that their build of the game did not have warfarer in it, meaning the promotional footage is from a build without all vocations in it) >they haven't shown any others yet (BTFO by basic levels of common sense) >previous game had only 9 (BTFO by the literal reveal trailer showing 4 starting vocations and proving they were not just using the same exact vocations from the previous game)
yeah idk it seems pretty evenly matched
>only 1 of the new vocations can be used by pawns
I feel like it'd a missed opportunity since they're clearly smarter and have a lot of focus put on them.
Probably doesn't get access to the final abilities of the base classes, like Assassin.
Also it's probably one of the classes you have to unlock by finding/earning it during the game, maybe even only available in postgame or something, or by maxing all the other ones
Still looks rad as frick, I do hope there's still a couple vocations we haven't seen, it would feel wrong to not have advanced green and blue and maybe one or two more hybrids, but I would have been really disappointed if there were only nine and now I would only be a little bit disappointed because this one is so cool
I would like there to be more than 1 big dragon in this game. Another Grigori-type, not an Ur-Dragon. Maybe a handful respawning ones can appear after you kill the new Grigori equivalent and trigger the green overworld again. I wonder what the new dragon is going to be named.
I want a Halbred, I want a whip, I want it all Itsuno. Frick I even want a Golum version of those Lost Planet mechs, I’m getting greedy with how much they’re giving us
Being able to play big ass sword without getting softlocked by metal golem
Being able to play with a big ass sword without major endgame fights being the worst thing in the world
So are we thinking that the "class skill" button (like the one used for sorcerers to speed up casting) will cycle through equipped weapons, and each weapon will have four bindable skills? Because it would kind of suck if you only got four bindable skills and could just pick any from any vocation. I'm guessing you won't be able to go break the sword and shield up, like to go sword/staff or censer/shield.
I hope Itsuno will make my dream true. The dream about proper NG+. Post dragon world with RNG n shiet (new world statuses like in roguelikes). New loot, crazy dark enemies new movesets for old ones.

A lot of this is kind of invalidated by warfarer obviously being a special case where none of its design or implementation would say much about other vocations
Like, if you took the black color to mean that there would be other black vocations related to it, that would be a silly thing to conclude- so that understandably goes for everything else too
>hybrid vocations have yet to be seen
Something like Assassin is 100% pointless with Warfarer around. It's still one class = one weapon, and a vocation that's at its core just the ability to switch between probably 3 vocations with some slight nerfs to each one. >yet it is still called a hybrid
Where? >footage of NPCs using a weapon that does not align with any of the currently seen classes,
Is this the spear? That's the biggest point, but honestly a spear is entirely too easy to be just usable by the Magic Spearhand even if it's canonically more like a twin blade. Same deal with Warrior sharing the moveset between hammers and greatswords. It's more surprising we have not seen more. >proving that the promotional build does not have all the classes in it
I imagine you wouldn't notice the Warfarer anywhere in the final build either, until you unlock it. >trailer confirms that just because we haven't seen a vocation yet obviously doesn't mean they don't exist
They have shown the ultimate one, which is kind of the thing you would want to hide the most.
A dedicated assassin vocation with augments to enhance its role and specialty is not too farfetched. Warfarer might only have three weapons and skills to choose from but no augments to boost it further.
Get ready for a month of threads about denuvo and blacks being in the game. Literally everything they say turns out to not be true. If they wanted the game to fail they should jinx it by making opposite statements at this point.
I can't wait to get my hands on the character creation. It's pretty much confirmed that you'll be able to make even taller characters because that one IGN vid showed a female character going up to 214cm without even altering anything except for the height slider itself. Nephilim playthrough?
from https://www.dragonsdogma.com/2/en-us/system/#pawn
>'Dragonsplague is a contagious disease-like condition that infects pawns as they travel between worlds.' >'Rather than being weakened, Pawns with the disease are said to display remarkable performance, and to become conspicuously bold in their speech and behavior. According to folklore, when the symptoms of dragonsplague reach a terminal stage, it will result in devastating calamity, but the veracity of those claims is unclear.' >corrupt your pawn in exchange for delicious P O W E R >if you let it get too bad, something fricking horrible happens >'something' is implicitly worse and more plot relevant than the Possession debuff from DD1
Maskchads we may well fricking win, the concept didn't stay exactly the same from the intial leaks but this is uncanny
>Failure to cure your pawn or perhaps pushing it over the edge for more P O W E R damns it >Your pawn will forever be condemned and no longer a part of your game >It transforms into the blighted dragon >Defeating it cures your pawn and keeps its P O W E R >However, the blighted dragon in your game is another player's pawn
Wait a minute Anon, Vergils voice actor was the one that leaked DMC5 a solid year before the teaser trailer came out >Yeah, it’s great to be working with Reuben (Dante’s VA) and Capcom again >turns to Reuben >Wait we can talk about that right? >Reuben has a stressed look in his face >No
See here
Why does it have a special border? I’m guessing pawns can’t use it or something?
It's a "create your own vocation" vocation
So I’m guessing you’ll still want to do the other vocations for the augments and then warmaster becomes the de facto best vocation to play as
Warmaster has lower stats and probably won't get access to the secret/ultimate skills you can learn from vocation maisters
>base stats
Did they change the moronic way DD1 did star acquisition?
Of course they didn't
they did
So it automatically respecs when you change class?
yes, if you play 10 levels with warrior and change to sorc, it woudl be as if you had played 10 levels with sorc, its temporary based on the vocation you're using.
This is from the TGS demo footage, the two on the right are the same character that changed into mage and sorc from thief (as you can see on the name, height, level)
This is gonna make whiny naysayers happy, but I kinda wish he stuck to his guns, here
It's such a non-issue, just upgrade your shit
>it's a multiclass Class
i guess that's better than nothing
this was the only mod I actually gave a shit about in the first game so itsuno making it an actual feature means I can be excited for this game again
>lower base stats
So stats are based on your current vocation rather than whatever you had while you leveled up? My minmax autism is pleased.
Yes you can kiss DD1's awful stat min maxing nonsense goodbye.
>lower base stats
My autism isn't gonna let me use this...
Vocations could already use each other's passives which was the most useful part.
>you receive lower base stats
>you also receive at least 12 skills and 3 weapon types to play with
Oh shit, this is Eden Eternal's Mimic class.
>Eden Eternal
Ah... I haven't seen this name in ages... Yet it still brings me joy...
That's quite a game to reference, my first thought was Braver/Buster in the portable Phantasy Star games.
Don't remember much about EE anymore, played AK more.
Just your screen resolution. I'm still convinced there are a few more yet unrevealed, though.
>Lower base stats
This kills the redditguideminmax shitter.
Oh so the easy mode class got it
>Made a list of things I wished they would put in DD2
>At the top was a "Seneschal" vocation that could freely mix and match weapons, skills, and spells
>Think there's next to no chance of it being in
>Itsuno: "Actually, it is." audibly lols
This gay-earth doesn't deserve this paragon of humanity. I hope he makes lots and lots of money off of this game, I'm going to pray to God for that to happen tonight.
He exceeded our expectations with DMC5 and he is going out strong with DD2. Bless Itsuno.
Same, brother.
Freelancer from ffv
Neat
Confirmed troony game. Cancelled my pre-order.
Jack of all trades master of none. But it probably will be busted just because of some cheese method with swapping weapons and Capcom will have to force a patch on everyone.
Sounds like the base job in FFV.
Play the other vocations for augments and stats, then end up there to put it all together in the best way possible.
it's like mimic or freelancer from ffv
kek, itsuno seen how "hardswappers" play elden ring (while making casuals eternally seethe) and made an entire vocation based on it. Absolutely based autist
Its more like Dante in DMC than anything else. I assume hardswapping is quickly going through menus to swap weapons on attack recovery?
During movement or after parry
basically, but not just recovery. tryhards have gotten autistically fast as swapping weapons via the menu to the point were they'll do it every 10 seconds or so to take advantage of every possible different situation, and they have the inventory menu laid out perfectly with 10 - 15 copies of each weapon (cheated into the game) to make swaps as quick as possible.
There's no swap animation from the inventory, so it's very abusable.
YES YES YES YES YES
FAITH RESTORED
If it also lets you use outfits from every other vocation, then it'll quite literally be the fashion dogma vocation
>Greatsword Wizard is real
Holy shit, I'm preordering
I mean, I loved playing Assassin because I could use swords, daggers, shields and bow. Now that means I can finally cast Gale Harness and Immolation at the same time (which I did with the mod anyways).
I rather have multiple weapons per vocation.
>SWOR GUNSL SWOR TRICK SWOR TRICK SWOR TRICK GUNS TRICK GUN SWOR
>check
>it's ACTUALLY FRICKING REAL WHAT THE FRICK?????
How are we feeling about the new vocation? I'm liking the look of it. Warfarer seems meant for the players who played solo or don't like to rely on pawns too much, sort of like the opposite of trickster.
It's dumb and unnecessary tbh. Probably cost nothing to add on but I still think it's dumb.
I won't play it out of pure spite because it's a nerfed version of each weapon
2 vocation swapping should have been always allowed btw
how are we feeling? how are we feeling?
homie, I wanted a MK and now I'll be able to play as one
homie, I wanted a Priest and now I'll be able to play as one
homie, I wanted to have ranged options while playing Fighter and I'll have those
this is fricking great, very very nice idea
>homie, I wanted a MK and now I'll be able to play as one
>homie, I wanted a Priest and now I'll be able to play as one
>homie, I wanted to have ranged options while playing Fighter and I'll have those
>this is fricking great, very very nice idea
You won't have any of that, you can just swap vocations, not create a mixed one. You can't use your spells while using a sword and shield
>You can't use your spells while using a sword and shield
uuuh...
>use spell
>swap back to sword and shield
?
Mystick Knight buffed his weapon and shield, moron
It just says combo, I saw the gameplay, you go from a weapon to the other, you can't play MK
The promo showing multiple weapons is a fricking lie too
>you can just swap vocations, not create a mixed one
Mein Black, have you read what it says there?
>Gut Strider, Ranger and Magick Archer because muh balance
>Just kidding bro, here's your mix and match vocation back, but you get three weapons and skillset now, lmao
I would have honestly preferred they kept vocations with two weapon types or gave a vocation swap as a baseline, or really just an entirely new vocation.
This is the usual caveat of making hard class systems but wanting the customization cake and eating it, it's silly and never ends well.
jack of all trades master of none
This kills the dragons dogma by turning into wacky dmc and makes me have no hope for wilds.
We Kingdoms of Amalur now.
Buddy, you have NO idea how much I love KoA.
>magic
>melee weapon
>heavy armor
>helmet
Kino
>Archistaff + Greatsword is literally Might/Sorcery
>I can cast down meteors AND pummel my enemies to death
Re-reckoning is a genuinely solid time. Never played the original, apparently the remaster balanced things better. I liked going evenly on heavy melee weapons and magic.
>literal singleplayer MMO enthusiasts
holy KEK
the combat was fun even if everything else was a bit shit
>Think Strider and Assassin with sword and bow are back
>It's actually a weapon swap
>But your stats are worse
This is fricking gay
They could have given us a cool specialized green vocation with curved greatsword and a dodge and they gave us this crap
whiny gay
>Casts the ice wave then runs up and switches to great sword to attack the head
Pure kino
How about the
>shoot arrows to bait the monster
>monster charges and gets insta PHAT countered by a big dick sword.
Made me feel things down there.
for me it's the little *tink* from the parry with the greatsword at 0:45
please tell me pawns cant use this so minmaxing wont take over again
Looks like each one has a different loadout of 3 weapons.
I still hope there are more unrevealed standard vocations to add to the mix.
Same. Warfarer looks cool as frick and answers the Strider question, but more weapons and skills are always a bonus.
>can switch weapons without going into the menu
this is so good
Mystic Knights, do you see this as a monkey paw or an upgrade?
upgrade
this is what I wanted mystic knight to play like instead of slapping my grand canons ass all day
>insane versatility instead of just pew pewing with the mace
You have ne fricking idea how happy this makes me.
Unless the magic shield itself is in the game it's a bit pointless to ask.
I really don't care about Mystic Knight tbh.
All you did was spam the stupid canon.
And I mained MK in the first game.
I won't care too much even if it sucks since I'll be doing Mystic Spearhand first anyway.
upgrade. now i can make my own mystick knight. big sword and big staff. big slash and big magic go brrrrr
This is exactly what we used to do with dinput, like giving a Warrior MK's selfbuffs. It's fun.
Potentially a huge upgrade, depending on how exactly this works. You have to switch to suit the situation, but you can still mimic the playstyle of combining defensive magic and swordplay.
I hope Magic Shields return in some fashion.
there's a separate shield tab in the inventory, it'd be a bit odd if only one vocation (and Warfarer) got an entire inventory tab to itself
MK chad here, possible huge upgrade, if its shit though its a monkeys paw.
In the original, I wanted to be able to cast spells with a sword out. This is kinda cool too I guess.
Same
I also hated how you holstered your shield when doing anything
what does it matter if your stats are lowered when you can always hit the weakest stat of the enemy to compenstate? when they didn't actually fix the item chugging of the first game so you just cheese every fight with iframe/stunlock moves because you get to have all the perks of warrior without the downsides of having 2 good skills and 0 ability to fight something off the ground
>you can always hit the weakest stat of the enemy to compenstate?
I guess the skill slots will still be limited to 4? so you have to pick and choose between melee, ranged and magic skills
You can’t cheese fights anymore. Items don’t give you back max health.
>9 vocation gays irrevocably BTFO
It’s a good day
>9 vocations and then a 10th that has nothing unique on its own
this is a cool feature but it's also them admitting making a dozen different combos of all the new vocations they added was too much work so if you want red+greed just make it yourself lol
People would be fine with DD2's green+yellow literally just being Thief+Archer aka Strider 2.0. With this we get Strider 2.0 and any other mixed vocation they could have otherwise made. So it's pretty good.
saviour of video games
I wonder how big that stat lowering is gonna be because it genuinely looks like an awesome class to use.
I'm guessing big lowering, which will probably have to compensate with augments from every vocation.
Very shit at the start, peak ludokino at endgame.
Unless every vocation has something locked away that Warfarer can't access, it has to be a huge stat negative, for it to not be absolutely broken. I'm hoping that it's around 33% lower stats and vocations have something exclusive that warfarer doesn't have. It'll still be the best vocation in the game. The versatility is way too powerful.
discordBlack folk, your evidence???
so basically, nothing new just the same old shit,. nice. kinda glad im not buying this game now
hum anti-leaker bros?
Can you post the leak this is referring to?
It was the one with the Arisen wearing a mask right?
I don't have any saved screenshots but I clearly remember the reference to "corrupted pawns"
neat, pokerus for pawns
Don't fricking sex the Pawns!
>literally Frenzy
Oh god, Apex Pawns are coming. It's that one BBI room all over again
>I am the master now!
Great as if they weren't autistic enough
More are coming. I believe.
WTF IS THIS A DD2 THREAD? ON MY BOARD?
DISCORD SISTERS ASSEMBLE!!!
DISCORD SISTERS ASSEMBLE!!!
DISCORD SISTERS ASSEMBLE!!!
DISCORD SISTERS ASSEMBLE!!!
have a nice day you schizophrenic subhuman, we're discussing a confirmed kamige here.
Trust the plan
I do
>Samurai-style vocation, learned from foreign warrior NPC
>two different sets of skills, depending on if you have your weapon sheathed or not
>iaijutsu for when it's sheathed for quick-draw style attacks with your katana
>fully drawn has you elegantly cut away through your foes
I want it.
Frick off. Nobody wants to play your Korean MMO garbage class.
Too bad there's one already in
>Brawler/Grappler with the current unarmed moveset and specialiced on grapples.
>Monk advanced, with no grappling but a swifter hand to hand moveset.
>Alchemist hybrid with DDO stuff.
I miss him so much
TOTAL DOOMPOSTER DEATH
2 more weeks musketeer/monk/arbalest chads
I want guns akimbo.
Do you think Warfarer will let you use EVERYTHING, or make you pick a loadout? I hope it's the latter because then you really get to create a custom class.
based on current footage it cycles through three weapons.
mystic spearhand used sky rapture in the footage. I'm sorry I doubted you, Itsuno.
likely 3 or 4 weapons
It lets you use everything by swapping
No he didn't, you can't actually combine skills, it's literally a gay weapon swap
looks like you're limited to three weapons at a time
>10 vocations already and the game is still almost 2 months away
>ACTUALLY MORE VOCATIONS IS BAD SINCE THE OTHERS LOSE THEIR ROL
discordtroons are shitting and pissing themselves, they can't move the goalpost fast enough
oh no nonononono
I need all doomposters to kill themselves NOW
>now
they've already done it with 2077. "Not on the switch" is a win for gaming
That's better than it being a feature built in honestly.
>implying base stats will even matter at level 100+
If defences work the same way that they did in DD1, yes they'll be very important for reaching those breakpoints.
It depends. Now that there's no minmaxing bullshit maybe they'll actually balance the game.
I don't want the game to be balanced though.
>instead of having to swap between warrior and sorcerer, the only two good jobs, I can now just be both
ok itsuno I'll pay your 90 dollars canadian you piece of shit
I was also on the fence, $90 monopoly money is a lot for a game but every complaint I've had, Itsuno just pops out with "Actually, It DOES"
What will your first Arisen/Pawn be?
As of now, Mystic spearman with an archer pawn
my personal sex slave.
Mage that looks like my gf obviously
dicky sorcerer arisen
big warrior pawn
One infected with Dragonplague
me on the left. i'm gonna focus down on warrior and sorcerer then do the uber vocation as my endgame vocation and use muh big sword and spam firewalls.
my pawn will be a beautiful Elf Ranger.
Mercedes, but useful
Human Male Warrior or Mystic Spearhand
Elven Female Archer
Tired old warrior for the arisen and then I’ll have my wife create the pawn. Should be fun.
Fight/Warrior Arisen. Mage Pawn for buffs, healing, and CC.
Arisen - as usual, dick ass thief.
Pawn will probably be a goth witch sorcerer.
Itsuno-sama, please I swear I never doubted
I-It was just a moment I weakness, my doomposting was pure jest! I swear it!
Warfarer might not be able to use the ultimate ability from each vocation the masters teach you.
It'd be useless in that case.
No, it gives you versatility and different weapon, but doesn't invalidated the rest of the vocations.
it's the only logical way.
"Versatility" is usually worthless compared to just being really good at one thing.
I'll be having too much fun to care.
Don't care, still playing as Dante. Also the ultimate abilities in DD were often crap
>Arc isn't good for Warrior unless you get the Bitterblack ring and abuse gravity
>Spells like Bolide are actually just worse than Comestion by far
Thea are "worse" only because they take long to cast.
Correct. So they're not as good, and are just flashy.
that's probably the case. and I hope it's the case, because as awesome as it is, I don't want the vocation invalidating all the other ones
it's already going to be the most fun vocation by far, it doesn't need to be the most powerful on top of it
That's literally fine, though
That's probably true, but warfare will still be the strongest vocation in the game.
There has to be some trade-off
lower stats. says so right there. if gear is still the main decider then the point is moot but it's there.
Versatility is still worth losing the ult
it all comes down to how good the ults are. And Warfarer is probably also losing the R1 skill for the swapping
And how bad the stats tradeoff is
>And Warfarer is probably also losing the R1 skill for the swapping
You can't even aim your bow without the R1 skill, so no. We also saw the mage-warfarer quick casting.
I guess we'll see
That's the point, you would have literally no reason to use other vocations over Warfarer if that wasn't the case
for me it's Sorc/MA/Spearhand Warfarer
I don't remember making this post.
Also Archer/Thief/Spearhand, occasionally.
For me it's warrior/trickster/mystic spearhand
never doubted Itsuno-kun
Fricking Itsuno brought the Frenzy virus into the Rift. I can't believe Apex Pawns will be a thing.
warfarer sounds kinda meh
in spanish they translated it as "adalid" which basically translates to champion, I think it's cooler
for anyone curious, the IGN guy said the warfarer was not in the build he played in Japan
what else were they hiding?
I've been saying for a while that the demo build probably doesn't even have some vocations implemented at all, so there would be no way for them to "leak".
The other 8 vocations.
>what else were they hiding?
Pretty much everything, since they keep showing the same areas and monsters.
Even the master stuff was pretty well hidden since he unlocked vocations by finding weapons and not masters.
>stuff was pretty well hidden since he unlocked vocations by finding weapons
Will this be still in? I wonder if advanced vocations are unlocked through quests and hybrid ones through masters.
seems likely
>monk gets revealed
>be warfarer
>swap to sorcerer and cast some crazy shit then proceed to go hand to hand and punch frickers in the face
itsuno my god please
As fun as it looks, I'd rather have had a few more unique niche vocations than a master "uses every weapon" vocation.
never say never, we are still 2 months away
I'd find it weird to show specialized classes after revealing the ultimate class, but honestly I don't know what to expect anymore so I'm just getting off the internet when it comes out and then trying to enjoy the game.
At this point they might not even show them. Warfarer is too unique not to show off, but I won't be surprised to find out there are a few more hidden vocations at launch. Or maybe they'll just put them in the launch trailer.
They keep trickling info in so I expect 1 or 2 more big reveal trailers.
>I'd rather have had a few more unique niche vocations
Trust the plan.
This should have been a NG+ surprise. I'm worried that this means nothing else for vocations because of how big it is.
>This should have been a NG+ surprise
Capcom doesn't do surprises. They WILL spoil the entire game before release.
yeah like how they spoiled Nero's Devil Trigger
That was literally the only part of DMC5 that wasn't spoiled
keep moving those goalposts
Dual Kalina wasn't spoiled, was it?
they kept a lid on officially spoiling Vergil until launch, which you may note we are two months out from for DD2
I'm not saying they don't have a lot more to show considering the game is still almost 2 months off, I'd just advise you to start avoiding marketing from now on because they WILL spoil the shit out of everything.
Wait a minute Anon, Vergils voice actor was the one that leaked DMC5 a solid year before the teaser trailer came out
>Yeah, it’s great to be working with Reuben (Dante’s VA) and Capcom again
>turns to Reuben
>Wait we can talk about that right?
>Reuben has a stressed look in his face
>No
that was a little oopsy poopsy, official marketing didn't spoil him until the launch trailer
maybe I just stopped keeping up with the news but I feel like a lot of the crazier parts of dantes kit weren't like quad S, irregular full custom letting you remove all your weapons so you have to royal guard/lucifer rose things to death, and double rocket launcher
>I'm worried that this means nothing else for vocations
There's absolutely no more vocation if they revealed this
idk man seems weird they'd add two colors with no solid versions.
>Trickster is revealed and completely bows all patterns out of the water
>>Cool, but I'm worried that's the big reveal...
>Wayfarer revealed and blows even more patterns and doomposting out of the water
>>Cool, but I'm worried that's the big reveal...
I'd like more too and still expect them due to the way colours work but if not, Warfarer is a damn fine way to round things out at 10.
NG+ surprise should be being able to switch control to your pawn
>Warfarer + manual controlled pawn combos
>The NG+ surprise isnt something more ridiculous
All I can think of is something like Dragon as what else is kino levels of Arisen?
> Seneschal
Unarmed is a pretty obvious one, altough I don't see it working color-wise.
Maybe something with flails or morning stars, dunno. Crossbows? Any still unused medieval weaponry is a good guess.
Unarmed monk would fit into one of the purple colors pretty easily as a religious fighting style
Trickster can produce magic weed and summon things
Which means, one of the basic colors is a summoner, while the other is an alchemist
Anon, its weapon is a censer
That magic weed is literally religious incense
I think monk is pink and a tank/aggro control. And purple is dark mage with debuffs and stuff. That'd fit trickster
Godhand
I'm glad it is it's own Vocation because if it was a base feature I wouldn't have liked that.
100% same
I actually won't use it for my first 2 runs, but it's a net win for the game. I'm sure lots of people will love literally being Dante with it
REPRINT THE SHIRTS RIGHT NOW
Don't know how to feel about this. I hope this isn't the entire answer to the vocation question.
What do you think the "there's only 9 vocations" people are doing right now?
Probably hanging around.
>hanging
sounds about right
desperately trying to come up with a new shitpost
frantically trying to change the narrative to "i-it doesnt count!" or "t-theres only 10"
Warfarer isn't a real vocation
absolute denial lmao
Swapping weapons isn't a real vocation. It also confurms that there won't be more as the last hud slot was taken and Warfarer is the ultimate "endgame" class mixing all 9 vocations but with shittier stats and without their best skills.
9 vocation posting was 100% correct, and many theorized the "Arisen" final class as mix of all 9
>Swapping weapons isn't a real vocation.
I guess Assassin in DD1 wasn't a real vocation
The interesting part of the vocation is figuring out combos like that that you wouldn't be able to pull off normally.
some motherfrickers never played super aprentice in Ragnarok Online and it fricking shows
>moronic doesn't get the concept of jack of all trades, master of none
>The shill narrative for DD2 was that it would have vocations with only 1 weapon each but all vocations were unique unlike MK and Assassin. Now we have a lazy weapon swap "10th" vocation that isn't even a proper multi-classing with cool hybrid abilities, just a lazy animation-less weapon swap
Yeah I said exactly that. Having one vocation with a generalized job swap is a different thing from releasing rehashed combos with different stat growth/augments and some skills swapped around.
you literally JUST got BTFO and you're already setting yourself up for further failure
>i-it isn't real!
>it doesn't count!
>Swapping weapons isn't a real vocation.
Swapping weapons is a more interesting and complex ability than 90% of vocation skills.
>Swapping weapons isn't a real vocation.
https://letmegooglethat.com/?q=weapon+master+classes
I always thought it'd be 9 regular vocations and one secret unlockable lategame one. But then Capcom doesn't keep secrets, so.
The hybrids in the first game did not have unique weapons
>magick bows and maces
Do not count
both of the hybrids in this game do. even if you're going to pretend magic bows don't count even though they work completely different from normal bows and can't use special ammo, you have to be a mystic spearhand to use a spear in dd2.
I am still here. Basically everything I said was true together with maybe leaving a single one hidden. To be honest it's still basically 9 vocations as far as my reasoning about weapons, UI, no hybrids mixing weapons from two vocations (now super dead since there is one that does it all) was, but with a twist that there is an everything class that doesn't seem to bring anything new but remixes what we have.
>white is all vocations
>black is going to be no vocation
>Warfarer
>Cast Immolation
>Cast Gale Harness
Become a literal fireball.
Stuff like this is going to make the warfarer such a fun class.
>no monk
>no necromancer
It's shit
>Vocation that uses all the weapons revealed
>Vocation that uses no weapons is next
Monk bros… it’s our time soon.

the new class can use all equipment so there's no reason to list it in the UI, moron
Acshually what
said, your an moron.
Trickster was missing right? Also I didn't even think about it until now but I can full mage with archstaff + magick bow + twinblade.

It seems warfarer has three vocation groups equipped at once cat lady has sword and shield, and twinblade and greathammer.
WHAT THE FRICK HAPPENS IF YOU TRY EQUIPPING THREE SWORDS
Are there three sword vocations?
>Warfarer is probably also losing the R1 skill for the swapping
This'll probably be the class' real weakness
>wfsorc cant speed up spells
>wfmage cant heal
>wfspear cant teleport
You can make strider now but it'll be weaker
>wfsorc cant speed up spells
Except we've already seen it do that
Also for most of the vocations R1 is their most central ability
Who would play Fighter but you can't use your shield, Archer but you can't aim your bow, Thief but you can't run...
stay healthy and out of trouble bros
I need you all to make it to march 22nd
FFV bros, we're so back...!

Seems like it's going to be variable refresh rate for the PS5 version? Some clips are 60fps and others are like 30-40. Forcing VRR on everyone seems to be the next gen thing.
are controls in this game like dmc5
not really, assuming this plays similarly to the first
>no lock-on
>has stamina meter for special moves and running
>you're locked to 3-6 weapon skills
>you can cling onto big enemies
>you can grab and throw smaller staggered enemies
>there are delay button combos
>combat is much slower than dmc5
>combos aren't as long and cool
>name of the game is falling big enemies to dps their weak spot

For now yes. Advanced green and yellow next.
Entire fricking month of shitposting about HIDDEN MAISTER VOCATIONS.

FIVE HUNDRED AND FOUR VOCATIONS

forgot how mad I was in DD1 when you couldn't have sword and spear at the same time with mystic knight. Ironically the only reason I got into dark souls 1.
>spear
staff
But why no strider tho
Strider WILL be a master vocation. He was just too OP.
strider is green classes now, dumb
Bro your Thief/Archer/Magick Archer Arisen?
You can literally just make Strider now.
>Strider and Assassin can be recreated via Warfarer
>Yellow/Green will be a new weapon type entirely
It's a win-win situation, in my book.
>New shield icon
>Vocations are hidden behind special Maister NPC's
IT'S OVER, DISCORD TROONS.

ULTRA based, I was even just thinking about how fun trickster looks but I didn't want to be stuck using only that moveset
they did the same for the switch version of dmc3, they added the style switcher into the game and co-op bloody palace
Likely doesn't have access to master tier skills or some kind of similar restriction.
It will most likely be an "Ultimate Vocation" only attainable at endgame after you get to be a master of a bunch of other vocations and completed a lenghty questline.
I'm ok with it being a NG+ even
>I keep thinking why would I play Warrior or Thief if I can play Wayfarer who can do almost(?) all the same things but also gets a billion new goodies extra?
Because you're going to have to fully master Warrior or Thief before you can start using their abilities on Warfarer. By the time it actually becomes worth using you'll have played every other vocation for dozens of hours already.
presumably its damage will just suck compared to a specialized class and thats about it. I could also seem them limiting you to fewer active skills on each weapon set so you get a varied amount of abilities but your individual options are worse than the base class would be.
>too cool
No such thing
YES ANON THIS HAS BEEN CONFIRMED ALREADY YOU FRICKING DONUT
Thank god.
I'd be real disappointed if I couldn't go full antiquity hero with a bow and sword like DD1.
Dont forget this shit still hasn't been explained yet.
I FRICKING BELIEVE
I wonder how it'd handle. Wouldn't mind it playing like a Final Fantasy dragoon, personally.
Either there's a spear vocation or guards get non-player movesets
>arisen
>champion
>dragonchosen
EN got the worst
>"arisen" as a class
So when you fight the false Arisen he'll be using warfarer-like skills. Probably be something like Daimon only he cycles through sets.
False Arisen will probably have a different vocation.
This one?
BURY THE LIGHT DEEP WITHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIN
what warfarer core skills will even going to be
will they have any unique core skills
>candlewielder
Japanese is pretty literal with all of its titles. Monster Hunter is the same way where the rest of the world got adapted names while the Japanese ones were extremely literal.
It'll probably be some dumb shit like Fallen or Dark One.
An edgy katana class would be out of place in DD but I would still love it.
>or guards get non-player movesets
I don't think you believe this, but it's insane cope if anyone does
There is zero chance he bothered making that spear for random guards when any longsword would suffice
If I'm wrong and we don't have a Lancer vocation I'll cum into my own mouth, and then think of a punishment for being wrong
I hope there are more vocations but Warfarer feels like a 'final' reveal type of thing.
It would odd for the marketing to go
>THE WARFARER
>COMBINE ALL THE PREVIOUS VOCATIONS TO MAKE THE PERFECT PLAYSTYLE FOR (You)
>BE CAREFUL THOUGH, AS THIS VOCATION HAS LOWER STATS. ONLY THOSE WHO HAVE TRULY MASTERED THE GAME WILL USE THIS VOCATION TO IT'S FULL POTENTIAL
>and now for our next vocation announcement
>THE SPEARMAN
>HE USES
>A SPEAR 🙂
>>THE SPEARMAN
>>HE USES
>>A SPEAR 🙂
There's only like one month left. Chances are the next trailer will e a story oriented one since this was the Action Trailer. They'll probably just hint at other vocations with new NPCs they show.
>all of February
>most of March
plenty of time
I guess the ultimate trick of the Trickster was using colors that dont otherwise exist. Bravo Itsuno
It might be the final revealed vocation, but I do feel as if a few more will be kept as a surprise on release. Remember that even if you're working towards Warfarer, every other class unlocked will enhance it.
what's your favorite?
>Arisen
k-k-kino
THE FRICK?
War master or Conqueror.
>アリズン
Absolutely based. Easily the best one.
>Guerrillero
heh
CHEFE DE GUERRA
>arisen
KINO
Arisen seems perfect. Wonder why they didn't go for that.
It would be too confusing for brainless casuals, please understand.
I will never understand.
Probably because the Arisen in Japanese is called 覚者, but the vocation is literally just アリズン. Would be a bit confusing in English.
>Probably because the Arisen in Japanese is called 覚者, but the vocation is literally just アリズン. Would be a bit confusing in English.
Then that's much more understandable.
Still, I feel like they could've picked their brains a little more to come up with a better name.
it's probably more like they picked arisen back in DD1 (i have no complaints about it, it was cool and remains cool to this day)
except now the nips dropped Arisen as the new class name which fricks over the already established term for the PC
either they change Arisen as player name (frick no) or they change the class name (unfortunate, but less terrible)
considering it's supposed to be the master of all class I don't see why it can't take on a layered meaning.
Warfarer is unironically the worst one holy frick
>final vocation: arisen
>anon's shitpost was right
i hope he's in here.
Arisen and Dragonchosen are the best but warfarer is pretty good too, good name for a class that is proficient in every weapon
Dragonchosen or Arisen.
It's like your ultimate form.
アリズン of course.
based on this I'm guessing it'll be another Arisen the master of this vocation
the Seneschal, obviously
>Arisen
we've been robbed lads
LA ARISENDAD
Does arisen share the same name in JP? Or is it different?
pretty sure in nip arisen is "Kakusha" so just a plain "arisen" works for them
in Japanese they use "kakusha" (awakened) for the person chosen by the dragon, while the vocation uses the english name
arisen = kakusha (覚者)
warfarer = arisen (アリズン - arizun)
bros what if they have a vocation that's just called Grigori haha
>Arisen
KINOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Lower stats makes it sounds like they're a glass cannon so wayfarer is the high skill ceiling vocation.
What is dragon plague?
Sounds like enemy pawns. Which would be pretty great actually.
>your pawn appears in other peoples games as differnet mobs.
That would give a lot more reason for the pawn system to exist.
pawns have a chance to get sick
they perform stronger while sick
but if they get too sick they turn against you
I assume you have to kill or send them back before they progress to far
what happens if your own pawn catches it
should of got the jab.
>should of
its been a good run buddy
DOGMA BALLS
Itsuno you madman.
>Warfarer
>Greatsword
>Stave for setting my sword on fire and healing
>Sword & Shield for oh shit moments
Yeah, it's gaming time.
It's kinda lame, but I'm giving it a pass just to spite 9 vocations gays
>bro they totally revealed absolutely everything about the game before release, stop being excited
DISCORD SISSIES BTFO ETERNALLY
so do thief and archer get an entire new set of moves now that they are a separate vocation?
Thief is the daggers class. Archer is the bow class. They don't share a weapon, so yeah.
archer has a machine gun skill and thief seems to have every kind of dagger skill from all the dd1 dagger vocations.
What is the dedicated dual-wielding berserk class of DD(2)?
its wild that all we've seen so far is PS5 footage which is probably just medium settings anyways not even ultra.
>Capcom didn’t have the technology, budget or time to do Dragons Dogma the way they envisioned
>2 just looks like realized Dragons Dogma
ARE WE GOING TO THE MOON?
Yes.
PROSTAGMATA?
etimos
this is the re engine game where we finally go to the moon like the logo.
>the logo wasn’t a symbol but a promise
Itsuno… I kneel
>whole engine was created with a sole purpose to go to the moon
>every game tries to reach the moon
>none can
>the Resident Evil Remakes were to fund the dream all along
>The new combat tech in DMC5 is being utilized
>Street Fighter 6 character customization was practically a taster
>Monster Hunter World/Rise gave them some practice animating monsters
Itsuno you madman, You bastard. You had this planned all along
>Itsuno named it the RE Engine because it's the Engine that allows him to REdo Dragon's Dogma and finally REach the moon.
Hidden in plain sight
oh god it was right there
ITSUNOOOOOO
The followers in rise is like pawn ai. They even match your actions if you have the same moveset.
Oh my frick, if I can sync Shorygeki's with my pawn, I'll never drop Fighter
Also, please put that in the game, Itsuno
To be fair, Rise's expanded what was already being done in Iceborne. They expanded Tailriders and Ace Cadet fights with you the first time you fight Fatalis. You have to get through the first phase of Fatalis, get the cutscene where Ace Cadet gets fricking (not)killed, then you can SOS or do multiplayer versions of the Fatalis hunt.
I think it's a false dragon like there's a false arisen, or maybe the false arisen turns into the dragon? Probably something to do with dragonsplague. Could also just be an ur-dragon style boss.
>another new color
THEY CAN'T KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH IT
I seriously hope this isn't confirmation that there really is only 9 unique vocations, This one isn't actually adding anything new.
Hopefully at least Spear NPC will be revealed as a longspear vocation
It doesn't logically confirm anything of the sort. There might be more, might not. I think the former is still more likely.
See
Either hidden or in the launch trailer. But yeah, I'm assuming they won't make any more dedicated vocation trailers at this point.
The symbol makes it looks like it is some ultra advanced voaction, I wonder if there's others.
The only way I could get more hype is if it turned out this game connects to the first games servers and previous Pawns and Arisens show up
>ctrl+f 'wayfarer'
>5 results
i also read it as wayfarer and was getting confused seeing everyone post warfarer
if it makes you feel better I don't think warfarer is a proper word.
It's a real word anon. It literally just means war fighter, soldier, warrior, etc. It's only really used in British English though.
Right? They really do save all the best stuff for themselves. Bastards.
it doesnt help that wayfarer is an actual word that means like a wanderer
I mean, that's the pun innit? You're inherently a wayfarer, and along the way became a master of warfare of some shiet
the symbol being black keeps confirming that the color coding for vocations is still real
I don't get the mentality that everything will be spoiled before release. Has there ever been an open world game that spoiled everything before release?
>want a DD sequel for years
>get really excited when it's revealed
>burn out on video games for a while and don't really keep up with the news once they start showing off gameplay footage
>see the new vocation trailer when I got home from work today
>mfw my hype explodes back into the stratosphere
Catching up and Trickster looks really fun too, feels really nice to actually look forward to something again.
welcome back bro
what's with this lumpy-ass dragon anyway?
Ew, kill him. Where's Grigori at, I bet this dude sounds UGLY
>I bet this dude sounds UGLY
He has a screechy ass roar
He took the vax.
That's the token gay character
Unfortunately he has monkey pox
He didn't get the jab
He's sick but he still had to come into work
monster huner called and wanted their kush vaal back.
Warfarer is literally him
is pawn sex in?
from the recent stream from the Taipei Game Show
>it is a secret whether you can have a close relationship with the pawn
You will be raped by your pawn with dragonplague and you will like it.
>you can frick your pawns
>150cms pawn
>inb4 you can actually go shorter and the 150cm limit is because they are offline pawns, just how you coulnd't get e-girl sized offline pawns on DD1
IGN's character creator showcase was so shit it wouldn't surprise me.
I'm not letting ANY of you frickers get close to my Pawn
i kind of wish i could be in a party of 3 Warfarer pawns just to see what they'd get up to
Insider here.
Now that the Dragonplague has been revealed, I think it's time to spoil the penultimate boss.
Dragonplagued Rook.
Red + Yellow: Lancer. Spear and great shield.

I kind of want to see how my very anime looking pawn would appear in DD2's more realistic style.
That would be game of the decade material
It's been over 10,000 years, but we're getting him home.
have we seen a moon in promotional stuff? I haven't been paying much attention but I don't even remember any night scenes.
no moon but theres a heavy emphasis on night stuff and summoning meteors is a pretty astral thing
I've seen that I meant more in the gameplay sections shown. Also don't really see the night sky there. That they're hiding the night sky is a good thing mind you. If the moon is back it's fricking time bros.
The moon will be part of the DLC
SweetWhite Archipelago
If the moon is back in the sky it's almost a certainty we go there in some form. That's why I'm curious.
oh shit yeah
we have seen a glimpse of the moon on the night sky
?si=LRS_vQiG-aYYgi_a&t=103

oh fug. they even tried to hide it. bros I think it's happening.
god I love this man so much
Yes but hang on now. I see what that screenshot has in the video but right after the camera moves back to where the "moon" should have been and it was gone. Maybe there's some lore frickery, maybe it was a bug, maybe time just moves fast as frick in this video. In any case, watch for the skies anon.
My faith is shaky but my trust is strong. I get how bad he wants it.
When DMC5 finally launched he made a video crying and apologizing (I think he might’ve been drunk from a launch party) that it took so long, this man truly loves his work, but he also loves his fanbase
where's that webm of him doing the Dante meme dance at a con

monkGODS it's finally our turn
Honestly they already won me over with Trickster. And knowing it will only go up from here is based as frick.
Monkbros... how about us?
Due to unarmed having some form of move set I would say a monk vocation is actually unlikely.
Due to unarmed moves clearly being given specific attention, I would say Monk is so fricking likely we're going to the goddamn temple on the moon
They revealed a vocation that can use all of the weapons so next will be a vocation that doesn’t use any weapons.
Just trust in the plan, bro.
The cat men look pretty monkish.
WHERE IS SHIELD BASTARD
Nice to have the 9 vocations BS blown out of the water.
Seems like a jack of all traits kind of vocation, not something I'd really feel like using unless it has some good augments to snatch up. Would be great to switch from being a warrior to a bow wielder just for the metal golem though.
But now you can aim throwing consumables, so destroying the medals seems realistic for any vocation.
i’m gonna mix rogue dagger stuff with trickster illusions and spear hand teleports and be a full on arcane trickster
It feels very "final", like they were saying all vocations have been shown so the "only 9 vacations" meme was basically correct as this one isn't adding anything new.
you lost, discordgay
Revealing it now may work.
>People expecting 9 vocations
>Ninth revealed is something no one was predicting or even imagining
>Warfarer is revealed and is CUHRAZEE
>Further speculation and discussion, lots of fun imagining the combos, getting to go all out with loads of combinations of loadouts
>Reveal an 11th vocation later on
>Hype train and discussions get bigger
>revealing more new vocations ALSO fuels further Warfarer loadout theorycrafting
Itsuno knows what he's doing
God, imagine TOME classes in DD2 in some parallel universe
https://te4.org/wiki/Class
>Possessor
>Paradox Mage
so, how many skills will the not-wayfarer be able to equip? 4 + core skills? or 4(x3) + core skills?
Being able to double jump as an otherwise pure red vocation would be really cool. But with how damage worked in DD1, the reduced stats are kind of a steep price. Replaying just now, a single upgrade can decide whether your weapon deals chip damage or wrecks the opponent.
Probably 4 skills same as how you could equip 10 of any vocation passive back in DD1.
Or more who the frick knows. It'll also depend on how weapon switching will even work.
Vocation skill is probably "switch vocation" so you wont be able to use Barge as a warrior.
Can any anon post the Wayfarer webms?
Would you buy a waterproof lantern gor 1 000 000 rift crystals provided the game economy functions in the same way as it did in DD1?
*for
Nah. DD1 had actually shortcuts so it wasn't an issue using lantern. But I'm pretty sure 99% of players never heard about shortcuts. It's kinda hidden. Easy to miss
What?
Easy to turn lantern on and off. No need to open menu. So no issues with water
the cheat code capcom doesnt want you to know is in the display settings. turn up the contrast and you dont need a lantern anymore.
you didn't beat the game
its only payback for capcom destroying countless peoples eyes
bowgun Black folk deserve it
BBI has literal pitch black sewers where your lantern goes dark as soon as you go too deep or get knocked over. I hope they at least make relighting it less of a pain. Going into the menu to unequip it, then watching the unequipping animation, then equipping it and watching the equipping animation can stay in 2012.
Bafflingly soulless. If Itsuno read this, he'd be wounded.
a million will be a drop in the bucket if it's like that
but I WANT my lantern to go out when appropriate.
No, my pawn probably wont get hired very often so we need to be frugal
Now the only reason to worry is the small overworld map
it just keeps making more and more sense
IT JUST
WORKS
>that one guy from the early threads that said there would be an all vocation vocation was right
You're going to make yourself upset when this doesn't happen
nah not really, I'm quite happy with what they've shown so far. At this point getting more is just a bonus.
Most of us aren't actually expecting it but
Solo or main pawn only runs, getting around enemies that are hard walls to your style, "main character" players.
>only 1 of the new vocations can be used by pawns
I feel like it'd a missed opportunity since they're clearly smarter and have a lot of focus put on them.
get the frick outta here
What the frick would Purple even be?
Priest
A dark mage. Grapnel, Exequy and Necromancy have to go somewhere, not to mention the debilitation spells.
Probably doesn't get access to the final abilities of the base classes, like Assassin.
Also it's probably one of the classes you have to unlock by finding/earning it during the game, maybe even only available in postgame or something, or by maxing all the other ones
Still looks rad as frick, I do hope there's still a couple vocations we haven't seen, it would feel wrong to not have advanced green and blue and maybe one or two more hybrids, but I would have been really disappointed if there were only nine and now I would only be a little bit disappointed because this one is so cool
spearbros... h.. h-hold the line
My Faith has never been stronger.
You have nothing to fear.
Holy fricking kino
>LANCEBROS
>FISTCHADS
>WHIPgayS
OUR TIME IS NOW. BELIEVE IN ITSUNO.
I'm not saying 1v1ing the dragon isn't based as frick, but I will say needing an army with you as the spear tip would be kino of the highest order.
I would like there to be more than 1 big dragon in this game. Another Grigori-type, not an Ur-Dragon. Maybe a handful respawning ones can appear after you kill the new Grigori equivalent and trigger the green overworld again. I wonder what the new dragon is going to be named.
eeeeeeh. loses its luster when you do it repeatedly. I think drakes are cool enough (I haven't seen one yet but they better return.)
THE SPEAR VOCATION IS REAL
A mysterious spear vocation would be very handy, if you know what I mean.
I want a Halbred, I want a whip, I want it all Itsuno. Frick I even want a Golum version of those Lost Planet mechs, I’m getting greedy with how much they’re giving us
>I'm gonna be a sorcerer
>"there's a new class that can be any class!"
>cool as frick!
>anyway I'm gonna be a sorcerer
Who up pondering they orb???
A Warfarer probably doesn't have Quickspell or Galvanize, so I shan't be using it much.
>not being a Sorcerer/Magick Archer/Trickster archmage
Best case uses for this vocation? I think fighting living armor would be much much easier
Getting in close as a faster class then going Warrior for the big frickery
Being able to play big ass sword without getting softlocked by metal golem
Being able to play with a big ass sword without major endgame fights being the worst thing in the world
Using spearhand and sorcerer to levitate and warp up to a big enemy's head, then switch to warrior and arc its face.
What if dragonAIDS is contagious, and something happens when enough pawns are infected? Maybe the Ur Dragon will appear.
I hope Itsuno will make my dream true. The dream about proper NG+. Post dragon world with RNG n shiet (new world statuses like in roguelikes). New loot, crazy dark enemies new movesets for old ones.
hope so. Didn't we see the level cap being 999?
So with the new trailer coming out and finally necking the discord troons let's put together a list of all the evidence in support of and against the idea of more classes that are yet to be seen.
In support:
>several classes from the previous game including advanced and hybrid vocations have yet to be seen (not including strider which is pretty definitively split between archer and thief)
>hybrid vocation shown that uses two colors we've never seen base classes for, yet it is still called a hybrid and follows the color rules of other hybrid classes. Warfarer proves that having multicolored backgrounds is not just because it is Arisen exclusive, it is specifically there because it is a cross between two other vocations
>footage of NPCs using a weapon that does not align with any of the currently seen classes, implying it belongs to a new class since devs likely wouldn't model unique weapons for random town NPCs to just have on their person for no reason
>IGN reviewer confirms warfarer was nowhere to be seen in the version of the game they were given, proving that the promotional build does not have all the classes in it
>trailer confirms that just because we haven't seen a vocation yet obviously doesn't mean they don't exist, and they are clearly withholding information in the leadup to the release of the game
evidence against:
>promotional tshirt only has 9 (BTFO by warfarer)
>one old menu image showed 3 ? icons for vocations making a total of 9 (BTFO by the IGN confirmation that their build of the game did not have warfarer in it, meaning the promotional footage is from a build without all vocations in it)
>they haven't shown any others yet (BTFO by basic levels of common sense)
>previous game had only 9 (BTFO by the literal reveal trailer showing 4 starting vocations and proving they were not just using the same exact vocations from the previous game)
yeah idk it seems pretty evenly matched
If they wanted the game to fail they should jinx it by making opposite statements at this point.
>it is still called a hybrid
I hope we get day one dlc
>Capcom on X: Warfarer is a NEW vocation
>not final, not ultimate just new
There are even more vocations
I can't wait to get my hands on the character creation. It's pretty much confirmed that you'll be able to make even taller characters because that one IGN vid showed a female character going up to 214cm without even altering anything except for the height slider itself. Nephilim playthrough?
from https://www.dragonsdogma.com/2/en-us/system/#pawn
>'Dragonsplague is a contagious disease-like condition that infects pawns as they travel between worlds.'
>'Rather than being weakened, Pawns with the disease are said to display remarkable performance, and to become conspicuously bold in their speech and behavior. According to folklore, when the symptoms of dragonsplague reach a terminal stage, it will result in devastating calamity, but the veracity of those claims is unclear.'
>corrupt your pawn in exchange for delicious P O W E R
>if you let it get too bad, something fricking horrible happens
>'something' is implicitly worse and more plot relevant than the Possession debuff from DD1
Maskchads we may well fricking win, the concept didn't stay exactly the same from the intial leaks but this is uncanny
>Failure to cure your pawn or perhaps pushing it over the edge for more P O W E R damns it
>Your pawn will forever be condemned and no longer a part of your game
>It transforms into the blighted dragon
>Defeating it cures your pawn and keeps its P O W E R
>However, the blighted dragon in your game is another player's pawn
Anon said officially.
I will play a trickster/warrior/sorceror warfarer so I can synch cast, pawn buff, and frontline all at the same time. Two sorts, one mage as my backup
>Doomposters are already infesting the other threads
Frick this’ll be the only nice thread on this good news huh
just make a new thread, they're too busy crying about black people
It's hilarious how the discord barely participated in this thread. They're scared.
