I was going to agree with you but how do you implement this without it being a long cutscene? If the game had voice acting maybe it would have been bearable but right now I'm willing to bet this isn't in the game because they feared people would have complained
>Pecharunt just wanted to affection of his parents
Pokemon truly are incapable of evil
I was going to agree with you but how do you implement this without it being a long cutscene? If the game had voice acting maybe it would have been bearable but right now I'm willing to bet this isn't in the game because they feared people would have complained
>trying to redeem this shitter
nah, Ogerpon did nothing wrong
You are all moronic. This is obviously Mossui fable and is not the actual lore.
Why are you like this
Who's fricking telling the fable
Nobody fricking knew what Peacharunt was until yesterday
The fable is the one ingame that portrays Ogerpon as the villain
I'm sure you believe Poltchageist is from a singular dead man as well, just like in the hype trailer for it.
In-universe, there's no proof no one knew about Pecharunt, unly us outside the game.
Yes. Exactly. There are no fables around mochi or Pecharunt in Kitakami. They're replying to this moron

who says the video is Mossui (aka the one town in Kitakami) fable.

Ah I gotchu. But it's still making way too much sense for me that the video is biased towards "justifying" Pecharunt (who was seen as nothing but malicious in the actual game) from the perspective of the area it came from.

I don't think it's really justifying pecharunt's actions. Perachunt did everything for selfish reasons and they all did still steal the masks and killed ogerpon's trainer. If they would want to make pecharunt look like the good guy, you'd try to leave that part out at least.
I was going to agree with you but how do you implement this without it being a long cutscene? If the game had voice acting maybe it would have been bearable but right now I'm willing to bet this isn't in the game because they feared people would have complained
Implement a button that the player can press to skip or fast-forward through cutscenes.
Pokemon is more than just the video game. This lore is nothing more than an advertisement, it has no place in the games itself. Remember, the games are only like, 10% of all Pokemon business.
>started to get pissed from all the affection >enslaves 3 Pokémon to get the job over with >kill a guy because his life is less important than the end goal >enslave an entire village years later just because
>What's their type?
Psychic/Fighting >BST?
410 (same stat spread as Medicham/Meditite unless aura BS training) >Moveset?
Rock smash, Fling, Strength, Agility >Egg group?
Humans branched off from the human-like egg group but lost the ability to crossbreed or lay eggs so lets call it the Human breeding group >Catch rate?
Humans also lost the ability to minimize so no pokeballs work
How many times has ash died?
Or Lugia and how he was about to literally Aeroblast The Collector to atoms had he not released the full attack harmlessly into the sky?
Cyrus fricking dies to Giratina.
>kieran portrayed negatively >huh, guess he's bad then >pecharunt portrayed positively >huh, guess he's good then
will you homosexuals ever learn to think for yourself?
they just left out the part about Pecharunt giving them their powers since it didn't say anything about them being weak, dumb or ugly like from the pokedex unless it was herbamystica or teracrystal BS.
the whole >they had no choice but to fight back
felt pretty silly, dude they broke into his home and he can't even hurt them in any meaningful way, what do you mean they had no choice but to fight back, yeah I didn't like that line but the rest was cool
>felt pretty silly, dude they broke into his home and he can't even hurt them in any meaningful way, what do you mean they had no choice but to fight back, yeah I didn't like that line but the rest was cool
Maybe the dub censored it.
I just took a look at the original and seems like the meaning is basically the same but I'm nowhere near fluent in japanese
also the japanese voice acting is so much better
The story is being told from a biased narrator. The dude describes how Pecharunt enslaved its own adopted parents, enslaved all three of its retainers, ordered them to break into someone's home and steal their belongings, and 'defend themselves' from the owner as if everything was perfectly justified even though tat obviously wasn't the case. Yeah, we're being told what actually happened, but from a one-sided interpretation that makes Pecharunt out to be a hero even though we know it's a malicious little shit.
Its funny how some people are trying to make this story into something more black and white and some of them even getting mad becuase they think its trying to make pecharunt look good or like a the actual victim. Like these people find the idea of a villan not being born evil with the completely worst intentions to frick everything up for no reason to be very conflicting.
Biggest balldrop of the switch games, period. How the frick can you mess up your lore beyond the already shitty games? >Ddurrr Pecha didn't liked the affection from two elderly so he started enslaving three Pokémon and make a village his it's b***h.
The whole assed theories and fanfictions of Kieran and the other three getting possessed by it sounded better than this.
>Ddurrr Pecha didn't liked the affection from two elderly
ESL spotted. Not only can you not speak English properly, you also don't understand it either, even when the narrator is speaking slowly. Pecharunt LOVED the affection he was getting from the old couple. That's why he went on the journey with the Loyal Three. What he was getting tired of was the same old fetch quests he was getting from the old couple. But stealing the fabled masks was exciting to Ogerpon. None of this lore contradicts the fan theory you described btw. Pecharunt still enslaves people.
>carmine never ate more of the stuff and she stayed mochid until you captured the peach
She was only mochi'd for, like, a 2 or 3 days at the absolute most. It may very well have worn off on its own if enough time passed.
Why are people acting like this story is meant to absolve them of guilt??? The first thing Pecharunt does is mind control the old couple and draw out their greed so it can monopolize their affections (which the narrator doesn't mince words about) and it literally described the Loyal Three as "thieving" after they stole the masks. It's just meant to give some sympathetic context, not make them innocent wholesale.
Some just want to shitpost, because they are addicts.
Some people are unable to see any nuance other than "Evil I kill to look Good" and "Me and my Friends, who are Good and kill Evil".
At this point, people or this current generation, probably don't think mind control via drug food or hypnosis, is the same thing as love potion. Because love potion just focuses on that, LOVE. If it were anything else like let's say stealing or making them do heinous acts, they get a pass. But they fail to realize brainwashing someone by using their special abilities, is just the same as a love potion.
Because the current young generation has been taught since 2013 to see absolutely everything in black and white terms and the internet was a fricking mistake.
Eh, I don't think it fully understood its abilities at the time. It understood that its mochi makes others like it more, but if it had a full understanding, then why not gear the mochi towards unconditional love instead of love based on gifts?
By the point of the epilogue it seems to grasp its powers better
it was definitely meant to erase the possibility that pecharunt was being malicious at all, which is disappointing, considering the idea of the quartet just being a bunch of greedy buttholes was way more entertaining than "uhhh little peach just wanted to make his parents happy!!"
>it was definitely meant to erase the possibility that pecharunt was being malicious at all
No it fricking wasn't. Telling your 3 friends to go steal shit and then not even caring when they had to badly beat (more than likely outright kill) some guy to do it isn't a good look in any sense. Adding some sympathy to it's story doesn't mean it's suddenly not a villain.
the story ingame painted it as if the loyal three mugged the guy while he was at the cave, while the video has them getting unexpectedly caught in the act of stealing and specifically uses the wording "they had no choice but to fight back" as if to imply it was some kind of self-defense
and it's not like there's anything in the video confirming or even implying that pecharunt was even aware of them fighting the guy. from the way the video was presented, it had seemed like it just received the masks when ogerpon rushed them
>the story ingame painted it as if the loyal three mugged the guy while he was at the cave, while the video has them getting unexpectedly caught in the act of stealing and specifically uses the wording "they had no choice but to fight back" as if to imply it was some kind of self-defense
I'll admit that this is a bit of an incongruity, but this doesn't really paint them in a much better light. They were there to steal shit and got caught doing it. the "They had no choice to fight back" dialogue was more than likely in reference to them needing to take the masks, especially since they were described as "thieving" immediately after, which is a weird thing to call a group of Pokemon you're trying to make look outright sympathetic. >and it's not like there's anything in the video confirming or even implying that pecharunt was even aware of them fighting the guy. from the way the video was presented, it had seemed like it just received the masks when ogerpon rushed them
This is just built off of the assumption that they didn't let it know the context in which they got the masks, especially since it asked them to retrieve ALL of the masks and they only came back with 3 of the 4.
It says he grew tired of the "same old" requests, not that he didn't like to do them. It literally jumped at the chance to get the masks because it was something new and exciting to do and when they got there her had 0 qualms about stealing them from Ogerpon and her partner.
You can argue that it leans more towards a childish selfishness that doesn't consider how others would feel before acting (which'd make sense given it's probably young as far as Mythicals go with it mirroring Momotaro's birth), but it didn't even regret its actions until the very end where it realized it all came out to nothing.
My point is that Pecharunt had no idea mochi has brainwashing effects, at least at first. He just wanted to be loved. He likely doesn't understand why his adoptive parents suddenly grew greedy or why the Loyal Three do his bidding, he probably thinks they just like mochi really much
the teapot is kinda different, we never see that specific teapot in game but in this case this pecharunt is the specific one from the game and causes events that affected the main story, that's why no one really gives a shit about that, that basically surmounted to flavor text
Carmine at the end of the dlc stated seeing Kieran felt like him seeing him for the first time in ages, that is proof Pecha robbed her of her consciousness and is an evil frick.
This lore drop actually makes zero sense.
The loyal three STILL bullied the shit out of Ogerpon after being revived (they still did not explain how could they revive)
Pecharunt still hypnotized the entire village to turn into chicken zombies for no reason, it did not draw the innate desire of any of the villagers, and basically destroying the entire village would not make the old couple happy.
It makes no sense whatsoever why the old couple wanted the masks, and why they SPECIFICALLY wanted a mask with the stones.
If the mask was without stones, the loyal three could've stolen any mask at the party instead of going to Ogerpon once they revived.
With that said, the mask with the stones was specifically manufactured a long long time ago (a time without advanced technology) by a man in Kitagami (a place where people are very backwards with technology and sometimes don't even own cellphones) and was never brought outside the country.
Yet, some random ass couple knew yeah we want that mask, that one specifically, from this one place we never went to, but we like, heard that some dude wore this mask, and we heard it from this very racist place that does not allow outsiders, so, we just kinda knew because we did.
The epilogue makes zero sense with the info we know about the loyal three and Ogerpon before this trailer, and now this trailer makes zero sense both with the epilogue AND the Teal Mask plot
You make zero sence, i dont understad what the frick you are saying. Its your problem the fact that the old couple couldn't have known about the masks or what?
>Yet, some random ass couple knew yeah we want that mask, that one specifically, from this one place we never went to
we don't know that, they look pretty japanese so I wouldn't be surprised if they lived close to kitakami and even visited, managing to blend in due to being the same race
>The loyal three STILL bullied the shit out of Ogerpon after being revived
Yeah, because they were still buttholes. A sense of comradery between themselves and Pecharunt doesn't change that. >Pecharunt still hypnotized the entire village to turn into chicken zombies for no reason, it did not draw the innate desire of any of the villagers, and basically destroying the entire village would not make the old couple happy.
It woke up from a probably centuries long coma and the last thing it remembers was being violent bludgeoned and passing out in a forest. It was probably just pissed, confused, and lashing out like a child. >It makes no sense whatsoever why the old couple wanted the masks, and why they SPECIFICALLY wanted a mask with the stones.
It literally says in Ogerpon's backstory that the masks became well known far and wide to distant lands, moron
Ogerpon and it’s friend we’re the talk of the town because of their masks, they were celebrities essentially, it’s not surprising at all if word spread. They probably even had people travel from other places just to see them.
oh yeah i'm sure they were considering "hey the thing that killed me sure was justified, guess i can't hold a grudge now" when they were revived, how could i have been so foolish. fricking moron.
>oh yeah i'm sure they were considering "hey the thing that killed me sure was justified
They should’ve, but they didn’t because they are fricking stupid which is why they got their asses kicked for a second time all over again then were forced to fight against their friend. Fricking idiot.
What point are you trying to prove? This just makes them look even more evil
Are you people stupid? Track the thread back, I'm not trying to make the loyal three look good, I'm responding to some moron saying it doesn't make sense that they would antagonize the creature that murdered them. Jesus christ the IQs on this board are room temperature.
>kill and rob some random dude just trying to protect his stuff >get killed by the dudes friend >hold a grudge against the person who killed you and not the guy who made you do the deed in the first place
This however is a pretty good point, I guess they really were loyal to someone in the end.
>kill and rob some random dude just trying to protect his stuff >get killed by the dudes friend >hold a grudge against the person who killed you and not the guy who made you do the deed in the first place
>The loyal three STILL bullied the shit out of Ogerpon after being revived
Yeah. She murdered them, they were still pissed about it, they probably would've killed her in revenge if we hadn't shown up when we did. > (they still did not explain how could they revive)
This I'll give you. From what we understand of Pecharunt's abilities, there's no way it could have been the one responsible for it. So this one's still unexplained. >It makes no sense whatsoever why the old couple wanted the masks, and why they SPECIFICALLY wanted a mask with the stones.
Ogerpon's backstory explains this - her masks were so pretty that she and her partner basically became pseudo-celebrities in Kitakami, and word of their masks spread 'far and wide'. It's perfectly plausible for Pecharunt's adoptive parents to have heard about them.
So could I really have inferred this entire backstory just from playing the game? Why are some people saying that in response to others mentioning this should've been in the game?
>So could I really have inferred this entire backstory just from playing the game?
If you're aware of the momotaro tale, the only actual new thing is that the old guys asked Runt for masks. Even /vp/ mostly deduced the rest before the video.
>having a reason for becoming a villain =/= not being a villain
It doesn't matter Pecharunt did it to get praise from his parents, he still enslaved, murdered and stole from people.
>Orgerpons trainer didn’t get to do anything cool, and just died in an unfair fight
That sucks. I was hoping he was the reason Pecharunt was dormant, like he casted a “frick you” spell with his dying breath to put it to sleep, than the Loyal 3 ran off with the masks in fear.
Would have been cool if he was the one who beat the shit out of the Loyal 3 first
>Be ancient poke-Spaniard mistaken for ogre accompanied by actual Ogre pokemon >Locals so scared of a big man they need you to wear a mask to be accepted >Decide to frick it and splurge gemstones from home on the local mask maker who makes them glorious and lets your mon change types >Some idiots from some far flung village miles apart hear of it and decide they want your shit because frick Gaijin having nice things >You get robbed of the only valuables you have in your hobo-cave atop a mountain >They murk you for fighting back still (no choice my ass)
Seriously should have the Paldeachad beat them up the first time around.

It's implied that he DID kick their asses - he thrashed them badly enough that they had to resort to killing him to get him to stop, because their normal attacks clearly weren't making him back down.
Pecharunt is a wish granter though he actually had Okidogi do the job for him. But he can also grant smarts, strength and allure through doping toxines.
So the timeline is : >Pecharunt gets adopted by old couple > they get fed with his mochis and become his thralls and greedy in the process >In order to get the items the old couple ask him, he enthralls Okidogi and give hom strength >He goes on the journey for Kitakami annd the glittering masks with Okidogi > meet and hain Munkidori then fezandipiti >Arrive in Kitakami try to steal the foreign man for his masks but things go wrong and the man presumably dies. only 3 masks are stolen > As Pecharunt and the loyal three intends to leave Kitakami, Ogerpon finds them and beats them. Pechrunt is sent flying in the forest unoticed by the villagers. According to the story he went dormant in order to survive. > Villagers mistake Ogerpon for the attcker nd the loyal three for pokemon trying to defend Mossui > they get revered and the three masks they stole are placed in the kitakami hall >Ogerpon now lives alone in the mountain ahunned by the villagers >Mask craftman knows the story, except the pecharunt part and tells the story to his children >At some point, Peachy find a dormant Pecharunt and use him as a mascot for her store > teal mask and Indigo disk happens > MC goes by peachy's with a mythical pecha berry in their bag, like the ones we see in OP's video. Pechrunt awakens and the pecha berry disappears from MC bag
>Pecharunt starts hypnotizing villagers with his mochi/kibi dango, starting with carmine, probably through peachy's store. Peachy goes missing. >By nightime Nemona and villagers not in kitakami hall gets hypnotized. Nemona goes to kitakami hall, runs through Kieran's grandparents. grandma gets hypnotized >in kitakami hall no one is hypnotized but the steward is missing too. > Pecharunt reveals himself to MC and Kieran. Arven and penny gets hypnotized. after Arven and penny's defeat Pecharunt flees to the Park, where the loyal three used to be buried. >Nemona is the park too, she is defeated then pecharunt is caught. >Ogerpon recognizes pecharunt in the battle and pecharunt is pissed when he sees one of the loyal three in your team.
Headcanon: Once awakened pecharunt starts by getting thralls in order to search for the masks hence why nemona went straight for kitakami hall. No one gets hypnotized there thanks to the masks covering the festival-goers faces. Not finding the mask there, Pecharunt goes to the village to get more thralls and he sends Nemona to the park, probably to find the Loyal three.
either coincidentally pecharunt decided to have them revive at that time or pecharunt was offscreen watching and decided to revive them right after the punch as little bit of tomfoolery
It makes even less sense now because it’s been confirmed that pecharunt has been asleep for 100 or so years. So it couldn’t have revived them intentionally or even influenced Kieran intentionally.
Kieran likes sweets and goes to that store so I guess pecharunt sitting there by all of those snacks lightly poisoned Kieran to be greedy and want more and more just like the old couple. And that was enough of pecharunts influence to revive the loyal three.

Which adds extra confusion as Kieran's hand gets the purple mist right as he punches the monument
Maybe GameFreak altered the lorevmid development but missed that bit?
my only guess is that the purple mist was an accidental thing, or that Pecharunt was feeding off of Kieran's negativity and was able to use it as a conduit for revival.
Either way I am happy that Kieran wasn't brainwashed, it would have ruined his character arc.
One thing that annoys me is why does Pecharunt have mochi powers if it isn't from Kitakami? Sure, different regions could also have mochi but it's just sloppy writing and reeks of "we didn't flesh out the story when making gameplay."
>ne thing that annoys me is why does Pecharunt have mochi powers if it isn't from Kitakami?
Mochi is never said to be some exclusive Kitakami delicacy like Malasadas or Rage Candy Bars were for their respective regions.
>Pecharunt's poison in lore can enhance natural traits but also exacerbates greed. >Pecharunt's poison in the epilogue just makes people do chicken dances in a zombie state
Why the disconnect?
Chains make permanent super-thralls. Mochi is the cheap and easy way to get someone under Pecharunt’s influence. The elderly couple were allowed to be mostly normal because Pecharunt liked them and was happy. Villagers chicken danced because Pecharunt was big mad and it’s funny in a childish sense. Their will was completely stripped because Pecharunt needed minions (to take on Ogrepon / Ogrepon’s trainer) and didn’t care about them.
UHHH ACKSHULLY PECHARUNT IS A PARADOX GLIMMORA THAT WAS BIRTHED FROM THE CRYSTAL TREE INSIDE AREA ZERO AND MIND CONTROLLED THE PROFESSOR AND STOLE THE MASKS TO GRANT MORE WISHES
>So Pecharunt sees the Loyal Three as his friends
I don't think so. Pecharunt felt unsafe and needed bodyguards, so it created slave bodyguards. Maybe in Pecharunt's childlike mind, they were his friends, but that didn't really seem to be the case in the story
I think it is the opposite way, Pecharunt sees them as useful tools, but the Loyal 3 were actually Loyal to it even beyond the Mochi/Chains. If we go by the vid them going back to fight Ogerpon upon being revived is probably more them trying to avenge Pecharunt since their mission was to get the masks to the Pecharunts Parents and since Okidogi was with Pecharunt from the start it atleast should know where they would be supposed to take them, since "Their mission was finished" and they were about to return with "just" 3 masks. when Ogerpon jumped them.
Toxoplasmosis is a parasite found in cat shit. Breathing in the dust from soiled litter can infect a person, and it's apparently what causes crazy cat ladies - the parasite alters brain chemistry
The difference here is that cats don't willingly and knowingly infect people with Toxoplasmosis (and don't even know what that is). Pecharunt knows exactly what it's own powers are and intentionally poisoned people and Pokemon to take advantage of their desires - the old couple so he could buy their love, and the Loyal Three so he could buy their loyalty. The thing is a spoiled child that knows it can get what it wants (affection) by binding others to it, and the only time it ever regretted its actions was when it thought it was about to die - and even then, the regret was less about stealing away people's free will and more about the fact that the failed theft meant it wouldn't be showered with it's adopted parents' love and gratitude for it.
The chicken dance was just meant to show us the villagers were under Pecharunt's influence. We also saw the villagers have the ability to battle their pokemon and form a mob
There's conflicting info on what Pecharunt's mochi does. There's the thing with the old couple and the loyal three about enhancing their greed and capabilities, and the dex entry and what we see in Mochi Mayhem about putting them under Pecharunt's control.
Maybe it depends on its intention?
No one saw the kid doing the "Weaponized Cuteness" dance.
Also called the Please Emote.
Curious, I put together real quick that the dumb dance was an old Japanese kid begging dance.
>People in this thread who unironically don’t know what this lore is about
This is the lore told by Pecharunt and he tells the story in a way to make him look good while making Ogerpon and her late husband look bad.
But it uses words that used for enemies like thieving. A propaganda would written be like "Despite the danger, the heroic youth Pecharunt and its friends went to the ogre country Kitakami to defeat the demons that have been terrorizing Pecharunt's family." Maybe even claim the masks were originally Pecharunt's family items.
Probably smashed the cudgel into it right before running down the mountain. Only a small piece fell into the village though, it's in the river beside the mountain.
This one is a joke comic. A way to terastalize humans has been discovered, Hypno "battles" Nemona, Pecharunt "battles" Carmine (the pic) and Briar goes crazy all on her own while the two just watch weirded out. But there's probably people who beat one off to that.
I'm really digging ganbari mascarpone's mochi stuff and it also leans into the grotesque humiliation aspect. With breast expansion, extreme aheago and sometimes armpit hair. Still hot, don't care.
Let me get this straight >Pecharunt serves the old couple by feeding its mochi, which are poisonous in nature and draw out the greed of the old couples. >Pecharunt starts fullfilling their request, in hope that they will love it even more, eventually lead to the whole mask situation. >Pecharunt then loses everything to Ogerpon.
So Pecharunt sealed its fate by itself? The couple has already loved it without condition, but because of the toxic, they became greedy which lead to Pecha's demise.
Yeah, that's why the argument that it didn't understand its mochi could do that, at least at first, thus making it a naive idiot. Either that, or its a full on moron
I'm not sure is it intentional or not, but it shows the Loyal Three each failing at what they're supposed to be gifted with. >Munkidori could see the future >couldn't see it coming when it was about to die >Okidogi was super strong >got its ass kicked by a Pokémon it has a type advantage against, along with a number advantage >Fezandipiti could captivate Pokémon with its pheromones >Ogerpon didn't fall for it
They all failed in a kinda reverse Wizard of Oz situation.
This story makes Pecharunt seem more like a child that is, while an butthole, is not intentionally malicious. Which to me doesn't seem to match up with how Pecharunt seems to be actively malicious int he epilogue.
>all the hints of kieran being influenced to act like a school shooter so much so that you can say you're scared of him if you play the female character >implied manipulation to give the loyal three what they want in exchanged for literally being shackled >dex entry states that it will pretend to be a baby and cry to get people to trust it (like the old couple?) >mind controls and throws bodies in front of it when faced with an enemy >mind controls people seemingly just for the keks
100% this thing was going to be way eviler than it ended up being and someone higher up said "nooo pokemon cannot be evil only misunderstood!"
people can relate to mass murderers if you give them a sympathetic enough backstory. >ohh those poor columbine shooters were just bullied kids they can't be evil just severely misunderstood frick society! i'm gonna shoot up a school too!
Of course it was actively malicious in the epilogue, Ogerpon trapped it in a coma and when it woke up its "parents" had long since died. I'd be pissed too.
Cute, powerful, small, feelsbait for (Liko) the player, available ONLY through a DLC event, gimmicky abilities.
Sure fits that description, I mean I could see ogerpon right as rain with beings like Zeraora, Zarude, or even Marshadow.
>Cute, powerful, small, feelsbait
none of this even defines what a mythical is >available ONLY through a DLC event
what? she's just part of the dlc not an event, if dlc mons are somehow automatically mythicals then I guess galarian slowbro/slowking, kubfu, urshifu, the galarian legendary(hmm) birds, regidrago, regileki, calyrex, specrier, glastrier, the loyal three, raging bolt, gouging fire, iron boulder, iron crown and terapagos are all mythicals too
>People here make hourly threads about modern games have too many cutscenes to the point it's unbearable >"Why isn't this 5 minute video that would translate in a huge wall of text in game?"
This story is the commonly told story of Momotaro, and this lore is probably widespread outside of Kitakami.
MC knows the truth and this is just a story to emphasize that reality and lore can be different.
The video says that Pecharunt "recruited" the Loyal Three because of their abilities, but the game says they didn't have those abilities until after they got their Toxic Chains
Okidogi was originally small and weak, Munkidori was originally dumb, and Fezandipiti was originally ugly
It recruited Okidogi because it was loyal, Munkidori because it could see the future, and Fezendipiti because of it's pheromones. Those can exist independently of their traits, especially in Okidogi's case.
>An inhuman creature associated with chains and mind control manipulates both humans and its own kind to fulfill its genuine but horribly misguided desire for love and affection
Where have I seen this story before…
>just monsterified
Well it's more than just that. Momotaro was a hero whereas Pecharunt is a selfish brat who's actions have led to the deaths of many humans
>its genuine but horribly misguided desire for love and affection
What? Makima never loved or wanted love. She only wanted to erase those devils through CSM.
Feznadipiti was just their to look pretty and be the flyer. Okidogi was the muscle and Munkidori was the "brains" a shame none of them could overpower the pure Ungabunga power of Ogerpon
I miss the days of Terapagos and Dokutaro theories and speculation.
The more and more they reveal of Terapagos and Pecharunt the more fricking moronic they are in reality. What a fricking wet fart of a conclusion Indigo Disk was.
After the base game and teal mask actually looked like they actually had some modicum of care put into them, in terms of plot and lore I mean, and like if they were actually building up towards something, I don't think it was that unreasonable to have even a smidgen of hope that things were actually gonna deliver and actually be complete for once.
But now I've truly once and forever learned my lesson.
There's literally nothing wrong with Peachrunt's full story aside from morons trying to make it out like it's supposed to be a dindu now. If you actually believed that "KIERAN IS !00% POSSESSED BRO" bullshit that's on you
Should've been in the game
I was going to agree with you but how do you implement this without it being a long cutscene? If the game had voice acting maybe it would have been bearable but right now I'm willing to bet this isn't in the game because they feared people would have complained
A diary. Optional.
You are all moronic. This is obviously Mossui fable and is not the actual lore.
>This is obviously [HEADCANON]
Yes. The villagers canonically made headcanon about the """Loyal""" three not being evil. Play the game/
The villagers didn't even know about Pecharunt, and this video didn't even justify it, only explain why it's actions.
Kieran literally says there are no fables around mochi or Pecharunt. Nobody knew what it was.
You are referring only in Kitakami.
Yes.
The fable itself is lore.
That said, no, it isn't. It doesn't mention Pecharunt and it paints it as the villain whereas Ogerpon is justified.
I agree but is not unlike pokemon to add lore in other forms of media. Most of the legendaries lore come from the anime movies.
true, although it would be weird if it was the only cutscene with voice acting so replace that with text and have it optionally after you catch it

Pokemon is more than just the video game. This lore is nothing more than an advertisement, it has no place in the games itself. Remember, the games are only like, 10% of all Pokemon business.
>Remember, the games are only like, 10% of all Pokemon business.
Lol
that's what we get from people consstantly complaining having to read even just 2 lines of text or watching a cutscene
how are they supposed to portray a good story without that?
now they just outsource the story to other forms of media which sucks big time
You can make playable cutscene.
We had this in pla
YUP
A lot of Japanese media does this. It's the mentality of "if it isn't necessary to the main story, then it doesn't need to be included".
>opening line of the video is "The tale you are about to hear has never been told in the land of Kitakami"
>Pecharunt just wanted to affection of his parents
Pokemon truly are incapable of evil
>started to get pissed from all the affection
>enslaves 3 Pokémon to get the job over with
>kill a guy because his life is less important than the end goal
>enslave an entire village years later just because

nah, Ogerpon did nothing wrong
I mean Ogerpon did do nothing wrong, its just telling the other side of the story
Shut up ogerpon
Go to sleep, Kieran
cute!
Stop it Pecharunt
Do not fall for peach propaganda.
Yeah it's propaganda, idk how anyone trusts that shit.
ZERO evil Pokemon exist
But humans are Pokemon. Are you saying the likes of Giovanni, Ghetsis, and Lysandre are also not evil?
Oh really? What's their type? BST? Moveset? Egg group? Catch rate?
>What's their type?

>BST?

>Moveset?

>Egg group?
Humans branched off from the human-like egg group but lost the ability to crossbreed or lay eggs so lets call it the Human breeding group
>Catch rate?
Humans also lost the ability to minimize so no pokeballs work
Pople.are not pokemon. Pokemon were sent for human by arceus to make world a better place
Evil type exists
Pecharunt literaly mind controlled the old couple because it felt like it was not loved enough, maybe not outright evil but very very selfish.
It seemed to not know its mochi had that ability, and seems to think the mochi makes others so happy it makes them want to be friends/family
It's stupid, not malevolent
Yeah, Pecharunt, watch the video.

Doesn't this story imply that the loyal 3 always looked the way they do rather than the chains giving them their power?
they just left out the part about Pecharunt giving them their powers since it didn't say anything about them being weak, dumb or ugly like from the pokedex unless it was herbamystica or teracrystal BS.

>felt pretty silly, dude they broke into his home and he can't even hurt them in any meaningful way, what do you mean they had no choice but to fight back, yeah I didn't like that line but the rest was cool
The sooner they move on from this thing the better, this whole thing has been wack
Its funny how some people are trying to make this story into something more black and white and some of them even getting mad becuase they think its trying to make pecharunt look good or like a the actual victim. Like these people find the idea of a villan not being born evil with the completely worst intentions to frick everything up for no reason to be very conflicting.
Greygays are the confused ones.
No, Greygays understand the lore.
People who defend Pecharunt are the same ones who think love potions are okay.
I miss Granny and Gramps. They never even got to see the masks.
True, pecharunt was their only child and he never came back. Most likelly the mind control wore off after some time without eating the mochi.
No carmine never ate more of the stuff and she stayed mochid until you captured the peach this thing needs correction badly
>carmine never ate more of the stuff and she stayed mochid until you captured the peach
The only point of the video is to make Pecha not 100% irredeemably evil, because Pokemon aren't allowed to be heartless monsters.
You can be a villain without being malicious
Did you miss the point were they ate the mochi and completely fricked their personality.
Pecha had no idea the mochi would turn them moronic though, it even says he didn't like doing all the petty requests from the old couple
Yh sure the drug dealer doesnt know meth will frick you up
It says he grew tired of the "same old" requests, not that he didn't like to do them.
He likely doesn't understand why his adoptive parents suddenly grew greedy or why the Loyal Three do his bidding, he probably thinks they just like mochi really much
homie he knew exactly what he was doing and he knew exactly what his powers were, the video flatout says that.
>Character is unaware of his special powers
This is a very common trope, and Pecha is based off a literal infant
homie he literally force-feeds people mochi, of course he knows
remember, the cursed teapot killed a dozen people and nobody cared!
the teapot is kinda different, we never see that specific teapot in game but in this case this pecharunt is the specific one from the game and causes events that affected the main story, that's why no one really gives a shit about that, that basically surmounted to flavor text
Kill this thing for making Ogerpon suffer and robbing 3 pokemon of their wills
Why is this board so fricking autistic
truly a mystery why the place adults discuss pokemon is so autistic, one may never know
Carmine at the end of the dlc stated seeing Kieran felt like him seeing him for the first time in ages, that is proof Pecha robbed her of her consciousness and is an evil frick.
>The loyal three STILL bullied the shit out of Ogerpon after being revived
did you just forget ogerpon killed them or something
Did you just forget it killed them because they killed its friend and stole its shit?
oh yeah i'm sure they were considering "hey the thing that killed me sure was justified, guess i can't hold a grudge now" when they were revived, how could i have been so foolish. fricking moron.
>oh yeah i'm sure they were considering "hey the thing that killed me sure was justified
They should’ve, but they didn’t because they are fricking stupid which is why they got their asses kicked for a second time all over again then were forced to fight against their friend. Fricking idiot.
Are you people stupid? Track the thread back, I'm not trying to make the loyal three look good, I'm responding to some moron saying it doesn't make sense that they would antagonize the creature that murdered them. Jesus christ the IQs on this board are room temperature.
This however is a pretty good point, I guess they really were loyal to someone in the end.
What point are you trying to prove? This just makes them look even more evil
>kill and rob some random dude just trying to protect his stuff
>get killed by the dudes friend
>hold a grudge against the person who killed you and not the guy who made you do the deed in the first place
What?! Why would you? Pecharunt was just trying to get cute masks for my elderly parents! I swear.
>my elderly parents
Pecharunt gtfo
Damn brat!
This looks fetishy
Everything about Pecharunt's subjugation is fetishy
>Orgerpons trainer didn’t get to do anything cool, and just died in an unfair fight
That sucks. I was hoping he was the reason Pecharunt was dormant, like he casted a “frick you” spell with his dying breath to put it to sleep, than the Loyal 3 ran off with the masks in fear.
Would have been cool if he was the one who beat the shit out of the Loyal 3 first
>Be ancient poke-Spaniard mistaken for ogre accompanied by actual Ogre pokemon
>Locals so scared of a big man they need you to wear a mask to be accepted
>Decide to frick it and splurge gemstones from home on the local mask maker who makes them glorious and lets your mon change types
>Some idiots from some far flung village miles apart hear of it and decide they want your shit because frick Gaijin having nice things
>You get robbed of the only valuables you have in your hobo-cave atop a mountain
>They murk you for fighting back still (no choice my ass)
Seriously should have the Paldeachad beat them up the first time around.
It's implied that he DID kick their asses - he thrashed them badly enough that they had to resort to killing him to get him to stop, because their normal attacks clearly weren't making him back down.
The real reason they sent Runt to look for the masks was to get rid of it. The old guys didn't think it'd actually get them.
They were enslaved by that point and were hopelessly devoted to Pecharunt. There's no way they would be cognizant enough to plan something like that
>okidogi has been a slave almost his entire life
poor dogi
>those kimonos
Pokémon Mint and Raspberry confirmed.
Pecharunt is a wish granter though he actually had Okidogi do the job for him. But he can also grant smarts, strength and allure through doping toxines.
So the timeline is :
>Pecharunt gets adopted by old couple
> they get fed with his mochis and become his thralls and greedy in the process
>In order to get the items the old couple ask him, he enthralls Okidogi and give hom strength
>He goes on the journey for Kitakami annd the glittering masks with Okidogi
> meet and hain Munkidori then fezandipiti
>Arrive in Kitakami try to steal the foreign man for his masks but things go wrong and the man presumably dies. only 3 masks are stolen
> As Pecharunt and the loyal three intends to leave Kitakami, Ogerpon finds them and beats them. Pechrunt is sent flying in the forest unoticed by the villagers. According to the story he went dormant in order to survive.
> Villagers mistake Ogerpon for the attcker nd the loyal three for pokemon trying to defend Mossui
> they get revered and the three masks they stole are placed in the kitakami hall
>Ogerpon now lives alone in the mountain ahunned by the villagers
>Mask craftman knows the story, except the pecharunt part and tells the story to his children
>At some point, Peachy find a dormant Pecharunt and use him as a mascot for her store
> teal mask and Indigo disk happens
> MC goes by peachy's with a mythical pecha berry in their bag, like the ones we see in OP's video.
Nemona goes to kitakami hall, runs through Kieran's grandparents. grandma gets hypnotized
>in kitakami hall no one is hypnotized but the steward is missing too.
What's bothering me is that we get no explanation on why Kieran's autistic rage at the shrine triggers the Loyal three resurection.
either coincidentally pecharunt decided to have them revive at that time or pecharunt was offscreen watching and decided to revive them right after the punch as little bit of tomfoolery
GF 100% reworked the DLC's story a few times but forgot to took out some details.
my only guess is that the purple mist was an accidental thing, or that Pecharunt was feeding off of Kieran's negativity and was able to use it as a conduit for revival.
Mochi isn't exclusive to one area in the real world. homie, you just want to be annoyed.
>ne thing that annoys me is why does Pecharunt have mochi powers if it isn't from Kitakami?
Mochi is never said to be some exclusive Kitakami delicacy like Malasadas or Rage Candy Bars were for their respective regions.
In addition to what other anons replied, Momotaro uses magic mochi to tame the dog, the monkey and the bird that go with him to the oni's island.
Why was he pissed off when you send out his retainers against him then? He should’ve been happy to see them. This is fake news.
Because the Pokemon he thought were his friends are now squaring off against him under the control of some random kid. I'd be pretty pissed of too.
Because his friends turned on him you fricking idiot
How big is Ogerpon's futa wiener?
t.Brendan Corris
>SV's DLC gets worse with each release or lore reveal
Fricking how?
>Pecharunt's poison in lore can enhance natural traits but also exacerbates greed.
>Pecharunt's poison in the epilogue just makes people do chicken dances in a zombie state
Why the disconnect?
different effects on Pokémon and humans?
Maybe they just really, really wanted to dance?
Lore: he's baby
So Pecharunt sees the Loyal Three as his friends even though he make them his eternal slaves?
>They will never give them forms free from the peach

Next you're gonna tell me macargo is hotter than the sun
that's not evil per se, cats, dogs, also do this when they want human affection
Cats and dogs don’t do this tho
Toxoplasmosis is a parasite found in cat shit. Breathing in the dust from soiled litter can infect a person, and it's apparently what causes crazy cat ladies - the parasite alters brain chemistry
So cats kinda do that
The difference here is that cats don't willingly and knowingly infect people with Toxoplasmosis (and don't even know what that is).
Really though it said cumming. Who is really at fault for this
they are animals, they don't know what evil is
>Middle East immigrants don’t understand killing and stealing is wrong so they shouldn’t see any jail time
Seems about right.
Wouldnt the Chimchar line understand simple morality?
So it's just going to skip over the whole Toxic Chain thing?
>eating Pecharunt's mochi heightens one's greed
>this somehow translates in-game to becoming a baby-talking zombie doing a silly chicken dance
The chicken dance was just meant to show us the villagers were under Pecharunt's influence. We also saw the villagers have the ability to battle their pokemon and form a mob
it also says it bends them to it's will. They dance because pecharunt is a sick pervent and want them to dance
There's conflicting info on what Pecharunt's mochi does. There's the thing with the old couple and the loyal three about enhancing their greed and capabilities, and the dex entry and what we see in Mochi Mayhem about putting them under Pecharunt's control.
Maybe it depends on its intention?
it does both things
It makes people do what Pecharunt wants and if he uses it as chain (like on the loyal three) it enhances their capacities
No one saw the kid doing the "Weaponized Cuteness" dance.
Also called the Please Emote.
Curious, I put together real quick that the dumb dance was an old Japanese kid begging dance.
No pokemon is truly evil 🙂
>People in this thread who unironically don’t know what this lore is about
This is the lore told by Pecharunt and he tells the story in a way to make him look good while making Ogerpon and her late husband look bad.
Easily manipulated idiots in this thread
Ogerpon samegayging
Go back to your cave ogre
Oger cannot hijack the minds of others so is inherently more trustworthy by default you mochigay
mochi can make idiots smarts, ugly frickfaces into beatiful waifus, and the weak strong. Ogre has nothing
Frick off you abomination your one of the few pokemon that should be destroyed or sealed away.
But enough about Terapagos.
She has a club to bonk you with.
he was already beautiful
But it uses words that used for enemies like thieving. A propaganda would written be like "Despite the danger, the heroic youth Pecharunt and its friends went to the ogre country Kitakami to defeat the demons that have been terrorizing Pecharunt's family." Maybe even claim the masks were originally Pecharunt's family items.
Ogerpon is not married. She is a lesbian
The lore didn't drop independently. Rather, it was released by the people managing Pokemon.
>Permanently enslaved 3 innocent pokemon
>dindu nuffin
Frick off
>The left horn on the Ogre mountain is shown unbroken
D-Did Ogerpon truly broke the horn and throw it in the village direction in its rage??
Probably smashed the cudgel into it right before running down the mountain. Only a small piece fell into the village though, it's in the river beside the mountain.
>new hypnosis pokemon
Hypno is getting competition.
>Nazi pokemon replacing the israelite pokemon
uhhhh based?
Reminded me of this pic of Hypno seeing Pecharunt's handiwork and basically going "not bad, kiddo".
https://files.catbox.moe/bh8sz2.jpg
There is no fricking way people find this shit hot. I refuse to believe it
This one is a joke comic.
Based.
I would that pecharunt
Let me get this straight
>Pecharunt serves the old couple by feeding its mochi, which are poisonous in nature and draw out the greed of the old couples.
>Pecharunt starts fullfilling their request, in hope that they will love it even more, eventually lead to the whole mask situation.
>Pecharunt then loses everything to Ogerpon.
So Pecharunt sealed its fate by itself? The couple has already loved it without condition, but because of the toxic, they became greedy which lead to Pecha's demise.
yeah
well not pecha's demise, it's not dead
Still, pecha's poison is what doomed it, GF should give corrosion the it as HA.
Yeah, that's why the argument that it didn't understand its mochi could do that, at least at first, thus making it a naive idiot. Either that, or its a full on moron
almost like... a peechy keen child...
A N G E R
the peach brat was simply in need of correction.
The peach brat is most likely a boy going by what its inspired by
nonbinary = female in my reality
Okay
>Munkidori can see the near future
>doesn't see the man coming
>doesn't see Ogerpon coming and kicking their ass
shit story
Blinded by greed, and even if you see it coming if your opponent speed blitzes you, knowing the future will do very little
still got speedblitzed. Ogerpon was not fricking around
It got a straight right jab thrown at it which stopped short before it connects.
I'm not sure is it intentional or not, but it shows the Loyal Three each failing at what they're supposed to be gifted with.
>Munkidori could see the future
>couldn't see it coming when it was about to die
>Okidogi was super strong
>got its ass kicked by a Pokémon it has a type advantage against, along with a number advantage
>Fezandipiti could captivate Pokémon with its pheromones
>Ogerpon didn't fall for it
They all failed in a kinda reverse Wizard of Oz situation.
So in the meta, Ogerpon > Wicked Witch of the West
Munkidori can't pull aggro away like Shulk can.
peach rape correction
Princess Pecharunt
So Pecharunt and friends are from Johto
What If they are from Sinjoh
This story makes Pecharunt seem more like a child that is, while an butthole, is not intentionally malicious. Which to me doesn't seem to match up with how Pecharunt seems to be actively malicious int he epilogue.
It had time to mature
yeah, and considering how the ogerpon backstory was told ingame, this entire thing just reeks of retcon
You could argue that both sides saw themselves as just and painted the other side as more evil than they really were
>all the hints of kieran being influenced to act like a school shooter so much so that you can say you're scared of him if you play the female character
>implied manipulation to give the loyal three what they want in exchanged for literally being shackled
>dex entry states that it will pretend to be a baby and cry to get people to trust it (like the old couple?)
>mind controls and throws bodies in front of it when faced with an enemy
>mind controls people seemingly just for the keks
100% this thing was going to be way eviler than it ended up being and someone higher up said "nooo pokemon cannot be evil only misunderstood!"
Maybe GF had some delicious mochi and realized that Pecharunt isn't so bad
pecharunt owns the media!
people can relate to mass murderers if you give them a sympathetic enough backstory.
>ohh those poor columbine shooters were just bullied kids they can't be evil just severely misunderstood frick society! i'm gonna shoot up a school too!
Of course it was actively malicious in the epilogue, Ogerpon trapped it in a coma and when it woke up its "parents" had long since died. I'd be pissed too.
The mochi is an allegory for the coof vaccine
/srs
Oh, so it supposed to be bangs rather than giant eyebrows. Makes sense
I trust him
I bet he just makes frustrated baby grunt noises.
Pecharunt is a good boy he dindu nuffin
They should reveal the brawler type mythical on pokemon day huh now that we got our pixie mythical
Ogerpon is the brawler type, babe....
ogerpon isn't mythical
Cute, powerful, small, feelsbait for (Liko) the player, available ONLY through a DLC event, gimmicky abilities.
Sure fits that description, I mean I could see ogerpon right as rain with beings like Zeraora, Zarude, or even Marshadow.
>Cute, powerful, small, feelsbait
none of this even defines what a mythical is
>available ONLY through a DLC event
what? she's just part of the dlc not an event, if dlc mons are somehow automatically mythicals then I guess galarian slowbro/slowking, kubfu, urshifu, the galarian legendary(hmm) birds, regidrago, regileki, calyrex, specrier, glastrier, the loyal three, raging bolt, gouging fire, iron boulder, iron crown and terapagos are all mythicals too
Ogerpon is a mythical
>People here make hourly threads about modern games have too many cutscenes to the point it's unbearable
>"Why isn't this 5 minute video that would translate in a huge wall of text in game?"
>durrrrr why are two different groups of people expressing two different opinions?????????
Plus, Slowpoke has psychic powers and is kind of... Dimwitted
Monkidori could easily be a monkey equivalent of Slowpoke without his toxic headbands
He was a good boy he was getting masks and gonna get love frick that greenie Pecharunt dindu nuffin
>stealing and mind control is ok actually
Yes.
I swear pokemon fans can only think in binary, its really weird, I guess nuance isn't a thing amongst morons
What was there connection
Both are incels
>Ogrepon still seethes upon seeing it, generations later
This hag is so LOYAL
>An inhuman creature associated with chains and mind control manipulates both humans and its own kind to fulfill its genuine but horribly misguided desire for love and affection
Where have I seen this story before…
But Pecharunt isn't a girl
Then why does it suck my penis so well?
Seeing as its very clearly based on the character Momotarō, just monsterified, the answer to that question is femboy
>just monsterified
Well it's more than just that. Momotaro was a hero whereas Pecharunt is a selfish brat who's actions have led to the deaths of many humans
Ogerpon is based on the oni from the story, but they made her more heroic then her original counterpart
So role reversal
We only know of one human that died because of Pecharunt
>its genuine but horribly misguided desire for love and affection
What? Makima never loved or wanted love. She only wanted to erase those devils through CSM.
Frick Ogerpon, I should have Peacharunt feed her mochi
What if Fezandipiti was the one with boosted intelligence? Would it use those poison rings as "ahem achsually" glasses?
Feznadipiti was just their to look pretty and be the flyer. Okidogi was the muscle and Munkidori was the "brains" a shame none of them could overpower the pure Ungabunga power of Ogerpon
Fezandipiti was there because Pecharunt was scared, so it needed Fezandipiti's pheromones to drug itself
Wait, Fezandipiti releases pheromones that entrance all that are hit by them. But Pecharunt could already brainwash people
Holy shit Fezandipiti was a charity case
I miss the days of Terapagos and Dokutaro theories and speculation.
The more and more they reveal of Terapagos and Pecharunt the more fricking moronic they are in reality. What a fricking wet fart of a conclusion Indigo Disk was.
It's your own fault for having enough expectations formmodern Gamefreak to allow yourself to muster any disappointment
If you actually believed that "KIERAN IS !00% POSSESSED BRO" bullshit that's on you
What if Pecharunt and his goons win against Ogerpon?
See
Ogersisters...

>4 poison pokemon got their ass kicked by a single grass pokemon
What a bunch of weakling
So how we feeling on the shiny? A second epilogue to cure the loyal three to get their shinies? Actually what is demon peach's shiny
>Actually what is demon peach's shiny
Same thing except the dark purple on its inner body is mustard yellow
Before the thread ends, would anyone like some
Genius Mochi?
>would anyone like some
>Genius Mochi?
No thank Dokutaro
