Nothing to say myself as I haven't touched it yet, but the steam reviews aren't looking so great. Appears to be agreement that the combat is either poor or feels irrelevant. It may be somewhat on the short side, at least if you follow the story critical path, and the story may not be as dynamic in response to player input as expected. This is generally what I have seen being expressed so far.
But I see that Maddmike, the game director it seems, actually gave feedback to an overall negative review and admitted they may have to either roll out patches or revise certain design decisions. He also implies that replaying with a different origin and moral leaning is worthwhile, so perhaps a lot of divergence in the story begins with those two factors. So I would expect dedicated post release development of the game to address any issues and if you want to see significant differences based on your choices, then your initial choices even as far as character creation may matter a lot.
This just confirms my decision to not buy new releases anymore.
Yeah pretty much agree on that. The first few patches tend to be even necessary these days for the full game experience.
2 year lag for games is best
PC Gamer gave it a higher score than rogue trader, a very respectable 64/100, so make of that what you will.
Didn't they give Dragon Age: Inquisition an 87? They are not worth paying attention to.
rogue trader was an unplayable unfinished mess at release so its not hard to be better than it
>PC Gamer
are they the ones that complained that rt isn't mass effect?
Just wait for moeblob to play it.
>moeblob
who?
I need moeblob to play it for me. I don't play games.
If you wanna play the game then just buy it third worlder.
I played the demo a while back and it a was alright. Probably worth picking up in a while once it's been patched up a bit.
oh no oh on oh no
Damn, not even mixed? What happened?
Mostly bugs it seems like. Reactions on the actual game seem to be more average, but the game being buggy pushes it into the negative.
I wait for a couple of days before checking steam reviews. On release day there's usually a lot of thumbs-downs from people with like 0.7 hours playtime
It's a pretty bad game and I would not recommend it, but this is moreso disgruntled Australians complaining about politics in the reviews. It's sort of like AoD but gay and australian.
>out of 47
to be honest this is absolutely meaningless
I agree, the game sold less than what, 2000 copies? It is absolutely meaningless.
4 hours in, it's pretty bad.
writing is bad, combat is bad, characters are bad, quests are bad, graphics are bad...
it's just bottom of the barrel fallout clone, ATOM feels like masterpiece in comparison.
>ATOM feels like masterpiece in comparison.
What was their budget? 500 CAD?
Atom's? A crate of vodka
Saw it at Pax Aus a few years ago. Thought the shifting morality/philosphy system was an intersting take on the more binary Faction Like/Hate + Good/Evil.
it's railroaded trash. You get locked into choices, you don't get to change your opinion or worldview. It's d&d alignment but somehow worse
>shifting morality/philosphy system was an intersting take
Black person, it's just basic b***h dnd alignment system
it's not even shifting, you get to adjust/set your morality at character creation by answering a 6 points questionnaire and that's it. You're locked in your "morality choice" for the remainder of the game. It appears similar to the Tides in Tides of Numenera, but it just superficially so, it's just a one way street since all of the "different" options lead to almost exactly the same outcomes and are inconsequential. It's not an rpg it's a very bad visual novel.
>It's not an rpg it's a very bad visual novel.
More where that is coming from, thanks to Disco Elysium.
>every npc is a condescending butthole or a self-important homosexual
not even worth pirating
Man I wanted to play Aussie fallout if everyone was calling eachother a wanker.
