I've had this game wishlisted for a while but it's been complete radio silence for months now as far as I can tell.
Plus, isn't it just a 'better' looking English release for a Jap fan game that has been out for ages?
>I've had this game wishlisted for a while but it's been complete radio silence for months now as far as I can tell.
There's a discord server but there's not been much in terms of updates. Dev's around however. >Plus, isn't it just a 'better' looking English release for a Jap fan game that has been out for ages?
Not quite, it's being remade from scratch.
Youkai... God, I hate Youkai. My father hated them as well. Even before they ate him. Did you think I'd be out here on the frontier without good reason? Yes, the Human Village needs a strong frontier. No, the Human village doesn't need unwashed Youkai at its gates! So, that's why I'm here: to bring Human order to stinking Youkai. Revenge? That'd be good too. This war against Youkai won't last long, and when it's done, I've got plans. This is all about power, power in the human village. Going down that road means dealing with all my rivals: Buddhists, Vampires, Tengu, the Hakurei and the Moriya families too. After all, the man who controls the human village rules Gensokyo...and one day, I will be Mayor.
I love the fact that despite spending time here, my mind is free from thoughts of trannies when playing video games.
I see good writing and bad writing, and mechanics for what they are, without the need to ascertain agendas. Captcha: "pa2wn4" made me smirk
It looks kinda nice, the design is thoughtful, but the mechanical aspects require a lot of polish.
The dev clearly enjoyed the whole series. It does the classic barracks/archery range/stable, AoM's settlement sites, a whole bunch of gimmicks from 3, and even those little decorations around constructed buildings you see in 4.
looks like mobile shit and since the projectile impact VFX has a 300% bigger scale than the units you can't tell what's going on at a glance. DoA and rightfully forgotten within a week
It's actually closer to Age of Ethanols, down to the food resource being replaced by booze and stone/gold replaced by weird magic bullshit you use to summon a hero.
>Gihren's Revenge
Nah, it's supposed to be like Sengoku Rance (without the sex), hence the name [Sengoku Gensokyo], but those are similiar genre of game I guess.
There're hundreds, if not thousands Japanese rape CGI games, but decent strategies are far and few inbetween.
And if you want ero strategy touhou there is eraTohoK, although it needs some reliable host/git manager, cause there are several anons with already made translations and stuff to upload, but the current main branch host is asleep and nobody knows how to wake them up.(Yes, opposite to EraTohoTW, none of the anons working on EraTohoK want to be the one to "rule" and take care of a new main branch, I don't understand the fricking culture clash there)
so you don't like 2hu wakatta
Keine exists
Btw, does Touhou Pocket Wars counts as tactical game, or is it merely an RPG? It's cringy as shit, but the whole building dolls up with cards for 3v3s and positioning is pretty fun. I love positioning, both explicit (as in on map) as well as just described in game, when it comes to strategy, tactical and RPG games, which is the reason I like
There are many 2hu strategy games, although most of them are calque from other strategy games
Your general must be Charismatic (takes place of Chivalry/Dread) to motivate and inspire your legions of ADHD ridden airheads to war. Low Charisma generals suffer higher army upkeep as they have to buy baskets of confectioneries to bribe the little shits.
It could conceivably be a total conversion mod for Three Kingdoms Romance mode since it's basically just the big dick characters dueling it out while the army acts as window dressing. too bad TK got tossed out with the bathwater after launch, or that heavy modding like we saw in MW2 days are impossible with the newer games
Miku,Gumi, Lelouch(for some reason), Super Sentai and Miki in game when?
I love the colors on this piece btw.
So in essence that would be a logistic/upkeep cost, but just reflavored and lowered by charisma. I can get behind that
If you want game others will take seriously you'll leave porn out. Never played this "Rance" and it sounds like shit.
I want games to be fun. Leave the seriousness to "cinematic experiences"
Charisma in a franchise whose characters live and die (and live again) under the 'shoot first, ask questions never' rule?
I don't remember any instance of people like Reimu actually asking what's going on. She flies off in a random direction and beats up whoever she finds along the way for information. I don't see her, or anyone else for that matter, sweet talking the fairies into staying in line.
I understand that it's staple of the genre, but I hate cookie-cutter buildings. give me something like Stronghold did where each house had several sprites which switched at-random/depending on adjacency.
Wasn't a popular genre over there. Same reason why there wasn't as much FPS either.
It also doesn't help that PC's for the longest time were either for Work or Porn VN's. So their main way of playing RTS was on Console.. and you know how that shit sucks on console.
PCs weren't seen as a legitimate gaming platform there until recently - and by now RTS is a dead genre...
I also hear that Nip devs don't like focusing on foreign markets, so unless a game can be profitable on their home market, they won't even bother.
It's company specific now. You've got Capcom which focuses much more heavily overseas now as they've had better success rates for games over in the American market. Bamco is weirdly schizophrenic and prefers the home market but they've been poking at more western releases now and again.
>Bamco is weirdly schizophrenic
Seldom do I hear something so accurate about a company I both know and like.
They seriously localize some games that weren't ever popular, and sometimes refuse to localize games that have had a western audience waiting, before they were even coded.
And it's not even the matter of the scope of the game in question. Sometimes I seriously think that when a game's being done they just ask a guy, who doesn't really care, if "that" game should be localized, and he tries to figure it out for about half an hour before giving a yay or nay.
I remember anons discuss IPs that would get straight up castrated for doing too well overseas because the companies' national pride was hurt. The sense of honor can be more important than profits, apparently.
I've had this game wishlisted for a while but it's been complete radio silence for months now as far as I can tell.

>Touhou
Into the trash you go
Neat
RTS is saved!
>giant balloony boobs
Why fans can't apreciate natural chests of Touhou characters?
Because Touhou canon is shit
you vill see big balloon boobs and you vill like zem
>all-rounded
They're rounded alright.
because I love big breasts next question
so you don't like 2hu wakatta
Based
TouhouMTD was very good
Excellent. Now one can Touhou Hijack /vst/ threads and cant be banned for off-topic posting.
>Touhou Hijack
Gramps it's late go back to bed
jokes on you, the mods on /vst/ only ban on-topic posting
nobody gives a frick about touhou anymore
what touhou would you fugg :-----DDD?
Cirno :*~~))
Sanae. She's an experienced bawd with a great body, she knows all the tricks and let's me frick her bareback.
My wife, of course
Which is funny since Age of Ethanols already exists
Gap hag, nurse hag, nurse rabbit, judge, maido, succubus, bridge troll, ghost hag, ghost samurai, wolf, both cats, kitsune, crow, doll enjoyer, thief, sunflower lady, 9, both vampires, and the dude.
>both cats
there's three now
>crow
which one, there's three
The ones that actually get doujinshi.
The one with the hat
Flan and Patchouli seggs xDDD
The vampire sisters.
Youkai... God, I hate Youkai. My father hated them as well. Even before they ate him. Did you think I'd be out here on the frontier without good reason? Leave RTW out of this, too good for 2hu
It literally is 2hu
>reference to Carthage
you failed m8
It's a joke. Cheer up. Of course it is not a touhou reference.
ok
Kek, mad general speeches are such a great thing.
people would complain and say this was written by trannies if it was released today
I do not discount the posibillity of the writer of that sequence being a troony.
I love the fact that despite spending time here, my mind is free from thoughts of trannies when playing video games.
I see good writing and bad writing, and mechanics for what they are, without the need to ascertain agendas.
Captcha: "pa2wn4" made me smirk
Total War was never good.
I can't wait to watch Viper master this game!
It somehow packs more visual AIDS into the viewport than RA3. Impressive.
This looks more like an AoE2/3 clone.
there is nothing wrong with that. Star wars did it
AOE3 more specifically.
>Which is funny since Age of Ethanols already exists
Same dev.
>Same dev.
Makes sense
It looks kinda nice, the design is thoughtful, but the mechanical aspects require a lot of polish.
The dev clearly enjoyed the whole series. It does the classic barracks/archery range/stable, AoM's settlement sites, a whole bunch of gimmicks from 3, and even those little decorations around constructed buildings you see in 4.
>making fairies do anything
Suspension of disbelief broken.
PETTAN PETTAN TSURUPETTAN!
PETTAN PETTAN MOCHIPETTAN
looks like mobile shit and since the projectile impact VFX has a 300% bigger scale than the units you can't tell what's going on at a glance. DoA and rightfully forgotten within a week
>there's a demo out on steam
Guess I'l, take a look thne
So, how is it?
NTA, but it's very rough on the first glance. For an AoE wannabe it doesn't even have the units move in formation.
Needs more bellybuttons
So this, but different?
It's actually closer to Age of Ethanols, down to the food resource being replaced by booze and stone/gold replaced by weird magic bullshit you use to summon a hero.
I don't have time to check the latest build, how is it?
/vst/ is not exactly the place i expected to see 2hu games
There are many 2hu strategy games, although most of them are calque from other strategy games
..Is that a Gihren's Revenge 2Hu?
>Gihren's Revenge
Nah, it's supposed to be like Sengoku Rance (without the sex), hence the name [Sengoku Gensokyo], but those are similiar genre of game I guess.
Yeah that makes sense. They even have the same style of menu so my brain blurred a bit there.
>Sengoku Rance
>without the sex
what's the point

battle system a lot.
If you want game others will take seriously you'll leave porn out. Never played this "Rance" and it sounds like shit.
>games
>seriously
are you neil druckmann or something
>2hu hijacking is making a comeback
>Gensokyo: Total War
>armies disband themselves out of nowhere because the fairies got bored
Is that an actual mechanic, or are you meming?
Meme, but it's a thing that SHOULD happen if such a game were to ever exist.
Your general must be Charismatic (takes place of Chivalry/Dread) to motivate and inspire your legions of ADHD ridden airheads to war. Low Charisma generals suffer higher army upkeep as they have to buy baskets of confectioneries to bribe the little shits.

And consequently, whenever you fight against Reimu, she consistently DOESN'T have any fairies on her side, ever.
will there be a blood dlc
I understand that it's staple of the genre, but I hate cookie-cutter buildings. give me something like Stronghold did where each house had several sprites which switched at-random/depending on adjacency.
Unironically though why haven't Japanese devs made rts games yet?
Wasn't a popular genre over there. Same reason why there wasn't as much FPS either.
It also doesn't help that PC's for the longest time were either for Work or Porn VN's. So their main way of playing RTS was on Console.. and you know how that shit sucks on console.
If you want success in their market you do console or mobile games. Arcade games too. PC gaming really never took off.
PCs weren't seen as a legitimate gaming platform there until recently - and by now RTS is a dead genre...
I also hear that Nip devs don't like focusing on foreign markets, so unless a game can be profitable on their home market, they won't even bother.

I'm still to this day confused as to why they have several games on steam that are fully in English but refuse to release them to the Western Market.
I remember anons discuss IPs that would get straight up castrated for doing too well overseas because the companies' national pride was hurt. The sense of honor can be more important than profits, apparently.
