how does this work? I don't get it
According to the guy with the footage, you can "unpatch" the game by disconnecting from the internet, uninstalling the game, and then reinstalling it. Although the option for NG+ isn't in the base game, you can temporarily update it to start NG+ then reinstall. The NG+ save still works and it shows all the NG+ costumes as they were. It seems NG+ was always planned to be an update but all its content was on disc.
This makes zero sense. The patched content (censorship and NG+) only exists within the patch and not on the base game. Reinstalling the base game on a patched save is more likely to frick your save up more than anything. You cant have no censorship without NG+ because it comes in the same package
Requiring a patch to ACCESS New Game+ is not the same as adding the content exclusive to New Game+ in a patch. Ever heard of on disc DLC? All the patch would need to do is flip a switch to let you access thar content, but that content was already within the game's files. The only "content" provided by the patch are the altered costumes, with the originals being on disc and otherwise inaccessible. If you update, flip that NG+ switch, then reinstall it, that original content is now accessible since you're past the menu option that needed the update to start it.
That's the point, NG+ is on the disc. There's just no menu option for it. That's why the save still works after downgrading. Locking disc content behind updates have been a thing for ages now, it's nothing new.
i'm sure sony will make ng+ incompatible with 1.00 saves with update 1.03

Usally when a game comes to PC you can get mods, patches, all kinds of things to alter the game. It takes a few months, sometimes a couple years. But at the end of that time you can always get what you want. I understand that the principle of censorship is important to some people, but as a man who strictly looks for entertainment based on what it can provide... I can just wait. There are millions of games that exist, hundreds of new games created every month. Even if I played games for the rest of my life everyday I could never play all of them. Being patient isn't even an issue because I always have something to play. Steller Blade is just another game in a sea of games. I can wait for some fixes.
