Itachis genjustu is useless against Jiraya and he gets bodied hard in a ninjutsu and taijutu fight by sage Jiraya.

Itachi was a part of Akatsuki at that point and had to keep up appearances. Remember that Obito was constantly watching and was very distrustful of him but had no way of knowing if Itachi was still loyal to Konoha.
Itachi wanting to alert Jiraiya is pure headcanon. Itachi was ordered to go capture Naruto and that's why he went to Konoha, plain and simple. He looked for a way to NOT capture Naruto and Jiraiya presence presented him with a convenient excuse.
Itachi couldn't afford to do anything that would be even remotely suspicious which is why he crippled Kakashi, a huge asset to Konoha, without knowing that Tsunade would later fix him.
From a meta point of view, this was before Itachi was retconned to be a Konoha spy and being so strong he could one tap the Sannin outside of Sage Mode Jiraiya which is why Itachi fricking shit up in Konoha and him not wanting to fight Jiraiya both make sense at the time. FWIW I'm not saying Itachi retcon was bad, it was one of the best retcons in fiction and has incredibly consistent with the rest of series, but it still was a retcon.

I loved Naruto, but the moment they brought everyone back from the dead there was no way to keep going. Zabuza was one of my favorite characters ever, and watching his corpse fighting was an insult. Then I realized we would see recycled fights of the entire cast and never came back.
Vegeta became boring after the Namek arc. I miss his old scheming and evil ways to use Goku and co to take out Frieza so he can become immortal and rule the universe. After the Super Saiyan shit, he just became "I want to beat Kakarotoooooo!!!"
Honestly, I liked early Boruto when it was just the filler adventures of the Naruto casts' kids. I stopped watching it though because it went on for a little too long. Should have just been like a 24 ep epilogue series.

What's interesting is that Jiraiya seemed to imply he would've succeeded in some capacity by taking them all into his barrier (toad stomach, I presume) considering the Animal Path was dead in the stomach acid) but unfortunately only managed to take one. Jiraiya was also safe inside it and other Paths were unable to track him until he left it and made himself known.
His plan was to get a final look at them to confirm his suspicions about each Path's identity and then relay. If didn't do this there wouldn't be a reason for his suicide play.

Itachi isn't as strong as Itachigays want to believe. Sasuke during his fight with Itachi broke out of Tsukuyomi on his own (confirmed by guide) and brought him to almost zero chakra. Itachi was 100% holding back against Sasuke but he wasn't throwing the fight or Sasuke would know which was the last thing Itachi wanted.
Pain had to resort to Chibaku Tensei to contain 8 Tailed Naruto which didn't even work. SM Naruto was able to push and kinda dab on FULL Kurama in his psyche and eventually beat him with Kushina's help. Sage Mode is a massive boost and Jiraiya is a perfect sage in everything but appearance.
Edo Itachi couldn't even beat Sage Kabuto in a 2v1 and had to hax him. I have no idea what the frick was Itachi thinking going alone to fight Kabuto, without Sasuke's help he'd lose and just get sealed or released.

The execution was poor but I can sort of understand the rationale. Naruto was too focused on bringing Sasuke back and dealing with the Akatsuki to really think of Hinata's feelings before. Since all that got dealt and years have passed, he has more time to reflect. Plus he wasn't getting Sakura with Sasuke around so he had virtually no other option. It made sense on paper but I agree it could have probably been handled better.

Tbf Jiraya didn't exactly fully master sage mode but his usage of it was still enough to comfortably beat Itachi. >Edo Itachi couldn't even beat Sage Kabuto in a 2v1 and had to hax him. The irony is that Jiraiya's Sage Mode is better than Naruto's who is a perfect Sage because the frogs can independently use some very powerful genjutsu AND gather nature energy for Jiraiya so he can stay in Sage Mode as long as he wants. Naruto had a gimped time limited Sage Mode because Kurama was a fricking butthole and tickled his dick making gathering nature energy a pain, which is said directly in the manga. After he became BFFs with Kurama Naruto was a beast in SM, though. That Sasuke vs Orochimaru fight has some of the smoothest animation in the entire franchise and its all thanks to frames like that. This is basic b***h, animation 101 shit. The figures get squashed, stretched and deformed during dynamic motion to convey a sense of superhuman, frenetic movement. Those techniques are applied exceptionally well in that particular fight. You can scrub some of the best fights in anime, frame for frame and find images just like that one.

I still seethe so fricking hard about this. It's great animation but it didn't fit the scene at all, just like kyubi destroying Konoha. I thought the animation totally fit. Its an interesting take on kurama's destructive power as Naruto is losing control, it looks fittingly spastic and exaggerated. Pain desperately flailing around to keep up is a neat way to show that this villain who had been hyped up for the entire arc is suddenly turned into a bug that this monster toys with. Its not for everyone and its not 100% loyal to the source, but thats the joy of an adaptation, seeing how other animators treat a scene.

Its such a plot/character inconsistency. Sarutobi found the time train the Sannin after being promoted to Hokage. He was shown to be really close to Minato and yet he couldn't find the time to mentor his orphaned son a little during peace times. You could say the imminent Uchiha coup had him preoccupied, but he left all of that to Danzo anyway.

Naruto: ninja clash in the land of snow is not only THE best shonen movie, but it is among the best anime movies ever made. It has the same director as Stink Bomb from memories, it has animators that worked on Ghost in the Shell and the Cowboy Bebop movie. Story, writing, animation, ninja clash in the land of snow is one of my all time favorite anime movies. The gelel movie might have surpassed in terms of animation, but it was SO fricking kino, the way it was written, the crisp animation, the way the movie was a movie within a movie, the finale, it worked so perfectly with Naruto's character, it was such a good fricking movie.

Itachi wanting to alert Jiraiya is pure headcanon. Itachi was ordered to go capture Naruto and that's why he went to Konoha, plain and simple. He looked for a way to NOT capture Naruto and Jiraiya presence presented him with a convenient excuse.
Itachi couldn't afford to do anything that would be even remotely suspicious which is why he crippled Kakashi, a huge asset to Konoha, without knowing that Tsunade would later fix him.

Itachi isn't as strong as Itachigays want to believe. Sasuke during his fight with Itachi broke out of Tsukuyomi on his own (confirmed by guide) and brought him to almost zero chakra. Itachi was 100% holding back against Sasuke but he wasn't throwing the fight or Sasuke would know which was the last thing Itachi wanted.
Pain had to resort to Chibaku Tensei to contain 8 Tailed Naruto which didn't even work. SM Naruto was able to push and kinda dab on FULL Kurama in his psyche and eventually beat him with Kushina's help. Sage Mode is a massive boost and Jiraiya is a perfect sage in everything but appearance.

The execution was poor but I can sort of understand the rationale. Naruto was too focused on bringing Sasuke back and dealing with the Akatsuki to really think of Hinata's feelings before. Since all that got dealt and years have passed, he has more time to reflect. Plus he wasn't getting Sakura with Sasuke around so he had virtually no other option. It made sense on paper but I agree it could have probably been handled better.

Itachi was planning to Izanami Kabuto from the start and there were instances where Itachi had to protect Sasuke from Kabuto's attacks. I think Itachi could have dealt with Kabuto on his own there. Sage Kabuto is busted but he's not invincible.
The irony is that Jiraiya's Sage Mode is better than Naruto's who is a perfect Sage because the frogs can independently use some very powerful genjutsu AND gather nature energy for Jiraiya so he can stay in Sage Mode as long as he wants. Naruto had a gimped time limited Sage Mode because Kurama was a fricking butthole and tickled his dick making gathering nature energy a pain, which is said directly in the manga. I thought the animation totally fit. Its an interesting take on kurama's destructive power as Naruto is losing control, it looks fittingly spastic and exaggerated. Pain desperately flailing around to keep up is a neat way to show that this villain who had been hyped up for the entire arc is suddenly turned into a bug that this monster toys with. Its not for everyone and its not 100% loyal to the source, but thats the joy of an adaptation, seeing how other animators treat a scene.

Its such a plot/character inconsistency. Sarutobi found the time train the Sannin after being promoted to Hokage. He was shown to be really close to Minato and yet he couldn't find the time to mentor his orphaned son a little during peace times. You could say the imminent Uchiha coup had him preoccupied, but he left all of that to Danzo anyway.

Naruto: ninja clash in the land of snow is not only THE best shonen movie, but it is among the best anime movies ever made. It has the same director as Stink Bomb from memories, it has animators that worked on Ghost in the Shell and the Cowboy Bebop movie. Story, writing, animation, ninja clash in the land of snow is one of my all time favorite anime movies. The gelel movie might have surpassed in terms of animation, but it was SO fricking kino, the way it was written, the crisp animation, the way the movie was a movie within a movie, the finale, it worked so perfectly with Naruto's character, it was such a good fricking movie.
Can't tell you how many times I tried to imitate the rainbow rasengan in my childhood.
