Probably the best modern era game (and most of it is just retreading a classic era game)
One of the better games. Online was awesome and only singleplayer-only morons hate them. And no, you wouldnt have completed Frontier anyway just like you didnt in Emeraeld.
It was a shit ending to a shit generation that was the death knell for the franchise. They truly realized they could get away with doing nothing and still sell the same amount. I wish it hadn't been released, and I've also realized I've spent 9 additional years here. Frick.
it alright
The mall sucks I hate this game worst remake ever only good thing this game did was mega beedrill
>worst remake ever
While ORAS sucks dick later remakes were even worse somehow, to be fair. God do I dread the BW remakes.
best remakes after HG/SS.
the outcry over the missing battle facilities are blown way out of proportion.
It was the entire postgame for gen 3. I spent hundreds of hours there, I dropped AS as soon as I got done with the Rayylmao cinematic bullshit
makes sense for the original since there was no online mode.
but in gen 6 you can just fight vs actual humans instead of trashing the AI.
yeah and how's that working out for you in 2023 chief
Sure, but I wanted things to do by myself, Battle Frontier had a ton of variety and challenges to complete. I could just play Showdown if I wanted to battle humans (and that's what I did), online has always been clunky in cart
Online was introduced in Gen IV, yet that didn't stop Gens IV and V from getting substantial single player post game content. Multiplayer will never be a replacement for single player content and no amount of cope from you cucks will ever convince me otherwise.
the gen 2 remakes had both online and a battle frontier. gamefreak only gives a shit about the pokemania gens
>gamefreak only gives a shit about the pokemania gens
They don't care about anything, otherwise LGPE wouldn't be a steaming pile of shit.
I don't know why casual players conflate online play with the Battle Fronter as if they're even remotely similar. Is it because they're more difficult than your gym leaders, and therefore not worth engaging with?
Imagine how kino the Battle Frontier would have been with online play. Hell, just imagine a co-op Battle Pyramid. That shit alone would have made up for every other problem with the game
They're not arguing in good faith. There's always gonna be dishonest or autistic posters here who defend GF's braindead decisions
>braindead decisions
It's actually 100% good decision to remove shit nobody plays like Frontier and focus on something that people do play like Online.
Or just straight up baiting like the gay that replied to you.
I still love them. as time passes though, I grow increasingly bitter about the battle frontier
>10 years of ORAS
I wouldn't play it over emerald and the 3d games just have this inexplicable energy that deters me from playing them but I don't hate it and DexNav was pretty fun, just wish the expanded dex was before the legendary encounter, also some of the extra shit tacked on are pretty forgettable. Also Megas are kind of too strong for Hoenn but thats the case for Kalos too so oh well
The beginning of the end.
To be honest it really was. This was the first time Game Freak looked at us and said "yeah we know, but frick you"
XY was the end, ORAS was just rubbing salt in the wound
ORAS came out within three months of Destiny 1
I haven't been hyped for a game release ever since but I rank it under Emerald and slightly above HGSS
none (I don't play pokémon since gen 3 was revealed to not have bacwards compatibility).
>What's your take on them?
I want to frick Team Aqua, especially Archie. Little else positive I can say about it.
>Have your opinion changed since their release?
No.
Post game was ass but I genuinely love this game. The sneaking mechanic was very useful
ORAS is just bittersweet to me. These games could've been heralded as some of the best in the series, but Game Freak just had to skimp out on one of the defining areas of Hoenn. Remakes are supposed to be the definitive versions of a game, not sidegrades.
Ice cold take: The post game is not what most people think of as defining features of RSE.
It's definitely one of the core things about the region, to say otherwise is just being ignorant.
Emerald wasn't that fantastic of a seller. Most people assumed the Frontier in HGSS was a new feature then.
Very hot.
If this game has trainer customization and BF it would be my favorite game in the series. As is it’s just annoyingly mediocre. About on par with FRLG.
Trainer customization would have soured the nostalgia experience. The costume change for contests was fair enough.
I don’t think they’re bad like people say they are, just frustrating since they don’t feel like the definitive version of the region. Feels like a sidegrade from Emerald since with every feature removed, there’s a new feature to make up for it. Unlike BDSP which barely has any new stuff to make up for the Platinum features it removed. It doesn’t even have stuff like being able to use Pokemon beyond its gen or redesigned characters/areas to make it feel like a new experience
>Next year will be the 10 year anniversary of ORAS
Some of the worst games in the series. Only good thing to come out of it was the much needed redesigns for the Hoenn cast.
Legitimately made me drop the main games forever
I still haven't played them because I was so assmad about the Frontier and shitty redesigns. Now I don't have the time. Maybe someday
Good game, Bad remake.
they are still better than DDPt, and every 3D game that is not SM/USUM
Only good addiction were the soaring and Deoxys in game instead of the postman givinig it to you, rest was pretty meh, since it came after perfect remakes like RFLG and HGSS, dumbed down too much, no battle frontier, no real new areas
I mean what I am about to say:
7.5 - Too Much Water.
It's existence basically cemented that /vp/ will never have relevance again and I'm completely fine with that.
Really the only thing that changed my opinion on them is the fact that they still have a QR code supported format for sharing secret bases, and for a while I was trying to get an entire collection of these bases to act like the eReader cards, but unfortunately no one cared enough to actually help me or coordinate properly.
I would like to try again, but it seems like too much work.
Should specify, I like them because of the Secret Base functionality
However that is the only thing that they really have up on the originals/Emerald, I can just go play Emerald if I really want.
most people hated it but i liked the mid-game lati@s
game already handed mega stones out like candy, what difference did an eon twin make
Yeah, they should've just handed out every legendaries at that point too, plus x999 rare candies, frick it, y'now?
i'm disappointed that you deliberately disregarded the essense of my post in an effort to seem witty through use of hyperbole
At the time of release I really enjoyed playing through Omega Ruby. I hadn't played gen 3 since I was a kid and it was a really great nostalgia trip, it looked great, the dex nav was fun as hell, and soaring was awesome.
I have very fond memories. Never played emerald until I was an adult so I didn't have a fit about the battle frontier.
My biggest complaint was that it was too easy, but at the time I really didn't care. It just amounted to me beating the elite four and being like "damn really?" when Steven's whole team got handled by my mega mawile
Imagine if they had added online contests and record mixing
