NFRT console is now a thing

>The console, which Polium says will be released in Q3 2024, will only be able to be pre-ordered by players who buy a ‘Polium Pass’, an NFT on the Ethereum network of which 10,000 will be minted. Despite Polium’s admission that only four people are working on the hardware, it also claims that the console will be capable of 8K HDR at 120fps and ray tracing.

It's not enough to just make money when you buy the game or buy in app purchases. Money has to be made from every single interaction you do in a game, because there's going to be a tariff that goes to the developers whenever you make a transaction.

Most people dont know that centralized exchanges hold data on centralized servers, not blockchain based ones.
Same for NFTs, doenst matter if you have the exchange system on a blockchain if your data about passwords and other shit are not on blockchain.
But most people are ignorant as frick so they go on with the trends without understanding the shit they are dealing with.
NFTs for example, are complete moronic ideas, imagine buying a jpg just because someone wrote a signature on a blockchain, kek. Sure, the tech is functional for that data, but you are moronic for not understanding that its not the image data that is in the blockchain.

Blockchain has no practical application in any of these fields and was never meant to have one. It was built to solve one problem and one problem only: information exchange in a ZERO-TRUST ENVIRONMENT. It does so by requiring immense amounts of wasted work (no, proof of stake is not better), having no mechanism whatsoever to correct errors or fraud, and allowing all users to see all data at all times. It is not only made fricking useless for every case you mentioned due to its purposeful inefficiency, it is also made an idiotic and dangerous proposition by its complete transparency. I don't want my medical records to be publicly available and protected by something as fricking flimsy as a pseudanon ID.

There's only one practical use for blockchain and it's illegal activity. Black markets and revolution. That's it.

The entire point of blockchain is that it's an enormous waste of resources and that hacking it while technically very easy would require such a vast amount of resources (computing power and energy) that it's simply not worth it. But that's all assuming you're trying to profit from hacking it which a government isn't necessarily about

There is absolutely no way in hell that anyone is going to put an entire game on any blockchain.
At best, you will get some token on the blockchain that points to a centralized service that then gives you whatever.

Did you write the source code?
Is it running on a box you own and can physically touch?
          No?
Then you don't own it. You signed a contract with someone saying that you "own" it, and will continue to do so as long as the ACTUAL owner lets you.
One day, you'll breach TOS (or the TOS gets changed) and you'll discover what kind of "ownership" you really have.
          >you don't get it, I can use the system to make money
No you idiot, someone is letting you use their system to make money. Which begs the question: why are they letting you do that? Are they just giving away free money? Where does it come from?

            >Is it running on a box you own and can physically touch?
you would be surprised of what is capable nowadays. Lookup Helium project. Imagine something like that where users themselves maintain the network, that's web 3.0. The concept has nothing to do with blockchain or so. That's a common misconception thanks to the ZUCC and cryptobros that only steals existing ideas or content.

              Anonymous

Helium is just paying people with monopoly money to set up wireless routers around their cities.
Which is, in principle, a commendable project because City Mayors are stuck in 1980 and the idea of free wifi coverage in their town (like sewage, water and electricity coverage) is alien to them.
On the other hand, it's yet another token, with dubious market value that is dependent on another external factor the market can't control or properly respond to: people actually using the Helium network (as in, users hooking their devices to it).
I sadly predict failure, because people are VERY afraid of connecting to Acess Points they don't know, and even if this shit ran for 10 years, noone would know what the frick Helium is by then anyway.

More to the point: Helium is tangeciably related to WEB3, but is a product of WEB2.5

      >But what Tom didn’t know was that these influencers weren’t simply providing neutral investment advice, as they claimed. They were linked to the tokens themselves, raking in millions of dollars from investors like Tom.

      >In the end, Tom invested over $100,000 in these scams, ruining his business in the process.

      >He also became increasingly extreme in his beliefs, going beyond QAnon conspiracy theories to espouse flat earth conspiracy theories, and speaking about the David Icke-inspired conspiracy theory that the earth is secretly run by a race of lizard people.

      >Things came to a head for Tom in March of this year, when, according to his brother, one evening he climbed on top of his house, yelling and screaming, telling his neighbors he was going to kill them. The next night, he poured gas on his truck in front of his house and set it on fire.

      >When the police arrived, Tom told an officer that the officer’s house would be next. Tom was quickly arrested.

      >But while his family scrambled to get him some help, he was released from prison without any warning–on the condition that any guns he owned were taken away from him. That never happened, and he later died by suicide.

Fun fact, HTML/JS in games is a very real thing. Many companies have UI libraries that allow them to use HTML for setting up their UI. EA has a library of their own that you can look at iirc. There's stuff like Ultralight for C++ and many others.

    >bro we're making a console that plays blockchain videogames!
The number of functional programs running on a chain can be counted on one hand and they don't exactly function well. And why would they on a system that doesn't allow for any kind of patching? On a system designed to run slowly with as much wasted energy as possible?

I've said it over and over but everything built on blockchain/crypto/NFT's is a bigger idiot scam.

They didn't say a screen would DISPLAY 8k HDR at 120fps, they said the console was CAPABLE of it.

Which is also technically true of my aging sandy bridge GTX970 machine - it can certainly render a solid color at 8k 120fps even if that serves no purpose.

      >What is the problem that must be solved?
Web3 Games are spread across different blockchains, which makes
them difficult to find—especially if you do not understand
crypto. Users will have to visit different websites and use
different wallets just to play their favorite Games.
Today, there are more people that play Games on a console than
on PC—and all Web3 Games are developed for PC.
A great gaming PC is expensive to buy and difficult to build,
      especially for a console gamer.
      >How will Polium solve this?
Polium is building a multi-chain gaming console built
specifically for Web3 gaming. Users will be able to discover and
play great Games that are built on different blockchains without
needing to switch networks or use multiple wallets. The Games
will be easy to find, which will make it more efficient for
      playing Web3 Games.
Most people just want to plug in and play without needing to go
through the hassle of setting up multiple wallets and visiting
different sites just to play a game.

I like how each of these statements is correct in isolation, but together implies massive falsehoods (like the idea that the "games" on blockchain are the same thing as GPU-intensive games with real time graphics, Blockchain games are prototype neopets level).

That's it.

It's mainly because NFT's almost immediately ruined their public image. People see crypto as a stupid form of unstable currency, but NFTs as worthless trading cards with extra steps.

ALl of that should burn, but NFTs and crypto are a different sort of disaster. They literally turn any game predicated on them into "play to earn" - you can't just play for fun anymore, everything has an immutable value in real money, which means people will play it not to enjoy the game world but to make money, because they know the developers will not simply one day say "Hey, I know you fricks are selling runs or you're otherwise trading this item for a lot of real money, we don't want that to happen, so now its easy to get that item because we're changing the drop rate" . The whole thing is a major shitshow and NFTs and "blockchain/crypto" gaming has to be stopped or else everything will get some much worse.

We tried to warn you about horse armor DLC. We tried to warn about lootboxes, gatcha, microtransactions that aren't micro, "cosmetic" item malls etc.. and "just don't play it/don't buy" isn't enough to keep it from spreading. It only takes one moron willing to open their wallet to make up for hundreds or thousands specifically not doing so in protest - same as the rest. It needs to be ended and all of this "web 3.0 blockchain token " bullshit will be the next step in downhill scam garbage.
