The strength of TNG through Enterprise is that the characters are often in conflict whereas in the newer shows they're practically finishing each other's sentences. New shows also just have terrible ideas like Khan's granddaughter fricking Kirk, a crossover with their shitty cartoon, and a musical episode justified by some quantum universe crap and not the result of Q's frickery.

The UEVR injector dropped and I tried out a bunch of games with it.
Trials of Mana, Clash Artifacts of Chaos, Darksiders 3, Psychonauts 2 and Balan Wonderworld work pretty good with it.
Hi-Fi Rush is sadly awkward and hard on the eyes due to the stylized animation and quick camera changes and Bloodstained is something that should only be done out of sheer curiosity but shows that even a metroidvania would work in VR in a Moss-esque dollhouse style.
It was better to buy the humble bundle VR packs that they made, shame they already gone, I didn't manage to get the last one since it was my time to go visit instead.

I love how TNG had a diverse cast and tons of social commentary episodes but nobody was screaming WOKE WOKE WOKE at it.

Hi-Fi Rush is sadly awkward and hard on the eyes due to the stylized animation and quick camera changes and Bloodstained is something that should only be done out of sheer curiosity but shows that even a metroidvania would work in VR in a Moss-esque dollhouse style.
It was better to buy the humble bundle VR packs that they made, shame they already gone, I didn't manage to get the last one since it was my time to go visit instead.

naw, I'm more optimistic. I think the wave of tech-haters will dry up after awhile. It's just right now: Internet is centralized and spying on people, everyone already has a smartphone and isn't excited for new ones, everyone is expensive, games have gone full predatory and have less freedom than ones that are 15 years old.
Eventually something will give and we'll have room for real innovation and appreciation for it.

Not when the texture filtering goes to shit from 10ft away making things look PS2-era at times despite the polygon count present. Or the complete lack of anything dynamic in the scene, from interactive objects, to lighting.
Well on Quest 3 at least the texture filtering seems fine and more games support stuff like dynamic shadows.

I believe in a metaverse but it has to come about in a decentralized way. This isn't it. We're not ready for one yet, the tech isn't there just yet, and people aren't ready for it. The Metaverse can't exist if it's just some corporate account. You all know what is needed for it to exist, but you're too craven to say it.

In RPO the metaverse was literally a place with actual danger, where you could be killed and lose all your account's stuff. It had real rewards to win. Sex wasn't something that could get you banned. VRC has none of that. It's just a chatroom, as the name implies.
Yeah I'd say VR Chat is.. a chat room. It's a modern version of stuff people attempted back in the 90s. The more these giant conglomerates hype up stuff like in the OP the more I think VR Chat is about as far as we should go.

if you've ever used VR you should immediately know that while its a fun toy its just that, not only is this shit impossible from technological standpoint its also not going to be nearly popular enough to get big

Immersive stuff will not be fun until it's full body immersion on a treadmill but that isn't cost effective
