No not at all, it's got maps/areas but it's not open world in the slightest. The only map in the game that feels frick huge is the desert but everything else is nicely self contained.
Don't buy it, every combat scenario is either the enemy being no threat whatsoever or the enemy oneshotting you.
the gameplay is something between bayonetta and mgr but dumbed down with rpg elements that can make it really easy if you abuse them enough. it's fun.
And don't forget about the PGR collab!
