any mods for the pc release? the difficulty being tied to how many players are playing and free play only being single player makes this a pain. I want to play the entire game with my dad but its so ass backwards

      Who's your favourite ninja, anon-kun?

        Anonymous

Hard to say. For pure gameplay purposes, Ninja is my favorite because it's just too much fun having an instant throw-a-homie function, but design-wise I'm in love with Yaksha because she caters to my extremely niche fetish for giant boobs that serve a practical purpose. I also have to respect Raiden just because of the sheer audacity of putting a full-size mech in a sidescrolling beat-em-up. He's hard as hell to use but damn if he isn't gratifying.

          Anonymous

Seeing Raiden in action for the first time is what immediately drew my attention to this game. He's like a playable boss character with all the crazy shit he can do. I guess being XBOX HUEG is his big downside.
I've been holding out on playing on the hopes of a PC port, so I'm really looking forward to giving the game a proper go.

            Anonymous

            >I guess being XBOX HUEG is his big downside.
Pretty much. He deals huge damage absolutely wrecks bosses but has a huge hitbox and it's easy for him to get swarmed if you're not good at crowd control. He also controls exactly like you'd expect a giant-ass mech to control - you have to input a button combination just to turn around.
You'll probably love the game if you're at all into beat-em-ups or fighting games. It's kind of a hybrid of the two genres, in that there's only one plane of movement and all five characters have very distinct playstyles complete with special moves and a super meter. I usually recommend it to people who like the concept of fighting games but can't handle competitive play.

              Anonymous

              >It's kind of a hybrid of the two genres
I definitely saw some combo potential. Yaksha seems to live up to being the technical character with all the wacky aerial manuevers that lead into other attacks.

It always blew my mind that the crazy solos weren't something improvised for the live performance but are actually part of the original arcade hardware song. The first Ninja Warriors was pretty jank as a game but it had serious love put into it.

Just remember that if you attack him while he's blocking, he'll auto counter. As soon as you hear that "ping" sound when he's blocking, block yourself and stop attacking.

is this game fun singleplayer? I hate a lot of 2D beat-em-ups but I've always liked this game's visual style

Very much so. It's on the slower side of things as far as beat-em-ups go (at least compared to shit like Turtle in Time or Fight N Rage), but still very satisfying to beat and master. There's actual cheevos for 1CCing the game.

Fricking finally. The original Ninja Saviors came out in 2019.

What are the chances that this version finally gets online play? In the console versions, if you want to play with other players, you have to give the second player your player two controller. No online matchmaking. Will we get it in this game?

Also, you HAVE 1CC'd the game with each character on Hard mode, right? It's been 4 years. You should be able to do it by now.
