Not IV tho.
Bravely Default
Bravely Second
Dragon Quest VII
Dragon Quest VIII
Fire Emblem Awakening
Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology
Shin Megami Tensei IV
Shin Megami Tensei Strange Journey: Redux
Tales of the Abyss
the Pokemon games if those are your style
Don’t play tales of the abyss on the 3ds. Just emulate the PS2 version.
I’ll add you probably want to look at the remakes of Devil Survivor 1 and 2 - Devil Survivor Overclocked and Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker.
why the PS2 version instead of the 3ds one?
60fps and who the frick wants to use the touchscreen to activate artes?
They fricked the font too
id say soul hackers, the devil survivor duology and rune factory 4 are also worth playing
other than that your list is pretty much perfect
>Bravely Default
>Bravely Second
Frick, I actually forgot those two are still only on 3DS.
>bland + infinite padding
>bland + padding
>demake
>demake
>killed the series
>holy fricking padding, also killed all the SOVL of the original art
>huge step down after Nocturne
>better stick to the original, new art and content are trash
>demake
great console you've got there guys
I'm playing Bravely Default and it's great
It has those FFV-FFIX vibes
Me too, I always enjoy a job system
World was quite charming with its art and music
Played an undub btw
7th dragon code vfd
Metal max 4(if you know nip)
Dream Drop Distance if you're into Kingdom Hearts.
Fire Emblem Awakening, Fates and Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, 7th Dragon III: Code VFD, Bravely Default and Bravely Second. Can also run Pokemon games on it pretty well.
Pokemon XY. The firat disappointing Pokemon game but I found it enjoyable enough to sink 50 hours into. Mega Evolutions are cool. The game had some neat story ideas that were never fleshed out, like the Lysanre/Sycamore/Diantha friend triangle.
Pokemon ORAS. It lost the adventure feel and the challenge of the original GBA games, but is still fun in its own right. You get mega evolutions and a massive roster of Pokemon to pick from. I spent 200 hours playing this game, breeding and raising my dream team and then progressing through multi battle tower with a friend. I somewhat regret transferring all of my Pokemon to S&M as I lost mega evolution stones.
S&M: better than XY but not as fun as ORAS. No mega evolutions (technically still there but most of the stones were only from limited time events I missed). Story has some neat ideas. At the time I thought S&M was the worst game and it put me off from buying the switch Pokemon games. Apparently those were even worse but I still view S&M as my jumping off point.
Fire Emblem Fates: it's three games in one. The game is aesthetically memorable with the anime medieval Japanese faction. The characters are likeable. Good music. Combat was serviceable. The writing is a mixed bag but I was hooked by Corrin and Xander's relationship struggle. Birthright's final act was simple but gripping. I sank 200 hours into this game but never finished Conquest, let alone touch Revelation or the DLC campaign with the kids. There is a lot of content. I think there is a fan translation patch which if I were to play Fates again I might try.
1/2
Xenoblade Chronicles: it has the old painterly character models which I prefer to the Switch rerelease's moeblob faces. You get to journey through fantastical environments, sorta feels like FF10 but with free camera movement and bigger levels to run through. Music is good. Excellent English dub. Shitty MMO tier sidequests which should be skipped. Combat is serviceable, actually maybe even boring. The first half of the story up until Prison Island had me invested in the protagonist's revenge hunt. There was tebsion and stakes. Then you reach prison island and a character comes back from the dead and tge tension and stakes evaporated and I stopped caring, and then the game starts insulging in ergregious anime-isms such as bending over to protect a mass murderer and traitor who is trying to kill us, and eventually devolves into fighting god and power of friendship shit.
Dragon Quest Monsters 1&2 ofc
Soulsilver
Tried FF4. The combat is so slow I thought my game was reading off the SD card slowly, but no that's the actual speed of it for some reason
Crimson Shroud
For me it's
Etrian Odyssey 1, 2 and 4
Etrian Odyssey Nexus
7th Dragon VFD
Fire Emblem Awakening
Fire Emblem Shadows of Valentia
Pokemon ORAS/USUM
Bravely Default series
Beyond the Labyrinth
culdcept revolt ignore how much of an edgy gay the mc looks like and enjoy an excellent game with some amusing characters.
If you do play Pokemon make sure to play SM and NOT USUM first.
If you're going to only play one 3ds Pokemon game make it SM.
The reason being is that SM's story is actually quite interesting (well really the villain and the motivation, what the villain says/does and the reaction of the character's involved).
Plus the Elite 4 and champion battle is executed so much better in SM it's unfathomable.
The Gym trials are also WAY entertaining in SM.
USUM does have it's highlights and fun parts with the added content, but they changed a lot to the determent of the story and softened a lot of the blows. I'd say both USUM is worth playing (more post game content, improved features, etc), but SM is worth EXPERIENCING.
ORAS is kind of a drag and XY is pretty lazy and easy.
I enjoyed XY for what it was but ORAS was a but of a chore to get through somehow.
Not like it was hard or anything... guess it was just plain boring.
