Hey, not really a “leak” per se, but something interesting.
I work for the TSA at a fairly large airport on the west coast. A large pelican case came through the X-ray and got pulled for screening, and when I asked the guy questions about the case, he asked that he get a private screening for the contents. He and a coworker ended up going into another room with me and a supervisor, and they popped the locks on the case.
Inside was what looked like a large horizontal computer looking thing, almost like a giant internet modem if I had to describe it. The weird thing is it had a controller with it, and it didn’t really look finished (almost like a busted 3rd party little brother controller), but had the normal ABXY buttons, triggers, sticks, etc. only weird thing about it is it had like 2 mouse scroll wheels next to the triggers.
After screening the machine and controller, our machine alarmed, so we had to do a check of the guy’s personal backpack and pat down etc. only reason I’m making a post here is that he had Nintendo business cards stating that they were some sort of hardware developer/engineers. (I forgot the exact title) in Research development.
Idk, the actual machine seemed about the size of an Xbox One or so, so it seems like Nintendo might be out of the portable console business. Who knows if this is actually their next console or what, but it was exciting and I couldn’t really keep it to myself. That’s all.
cool if true
possibly a dev kit if not a console
You should draw the controller and system in mspaint
OP is likely another faker, but I give him points for describing a dev kit.
Also a unique scenario to describe it. Even if OP is lying, I gotta give him props for being creative
Take a picture of your uniforn or work. Sounds more like a dev kit
>it's 2023
>did not take photos
Sure thing Jan
Faker than my mother's love for me.
>Ninendo doesn't use private jets
ok gay
>private jet passengers don't have to clear tsa checkpoints when landing at public airports
Moron.
>he's never flown on a private jet
>he thinks private jets go to public airports
>he thinks companies lets mid-level employees use their corporate jet
>he thinks they have access to private airfields in every city of every country they ever need to land in
Just say you're moronic next time. It's quicker.
Update: no badge number for obvs reasons
But yeah, here’s proof of occupation. Not drawing a picture bc cant atm, and it wouldn’t show anything cool. Console is just like a modem but 4 time bigger. Looked like it vented on top and had a shit ton of USBs/ports. Was grey. Controller also grey, seemed open faced/customizable. Had 4 different colored buttons on the front. Everything else was grey. Seemed fairly generic overall.
If this is real, what you saw was likely a dev kit.
Why can't you draw it? You have a piece of paper right there.
i'm taking my vpn off to answer this. you saw a devkit what was most likely a devswitch to test software on hardware, or you legit just saw the switch2's devkit.
>tfw Ganker's audience has grown old enough to be in important enouigh positions to leak shit like this
i love this website so god damn much, and all you crazy bastards
gonna say fake and gay but if this has a sliver of truth to it, you most likely saw a devkit of some kind
>The weird thing is it had a controller with it, and it didn’t really look finished (almost like a busted 3rd party little brother controller), but had the normal ABXY buttons, triggers, sticks, etc. only weird thing about it is it had like 2 mouse scroll wheels next to the triggers.
Might be worthwhile to point out that this aligns pretty well with a recent Spanish rumor (likely MercurySteam-related because they seem to be the Spanish dev with the best relationship with Nintendo) that talked about Switch 2 devkits, but explicitly mentioned that Nintendo wanted to keep the Switch 2 controller top secret.
That combined with makes me think that OP might not be fake and gay for once and probably saw something legit. Obviously "Nintendo is making new hardware" shouldn't be a huge surprise to anybody but I suppose it's cool that we're now at a point where we're getting some genuine bubbling around it.
>Was grey. Controller also grey, seemed open faced/customizable. Had 4 different colored buttons on the front. Everything else was grey. Seemed fairly generic overall.
Reminds me of the Super Famicom. I think it'd be cute if they called a Switch sequel the Super Switch as a reference to the NES -> SNES jump but I imagine they might also want to go a bit further so they really don't repeat the Wii U thing again.
If it's all grey it's probably just for prototype reasons before they decide on final colours.
Do an mspaint drawing of it
Could be a devkit, but I don't see Nintendo exiting the handheld business or making a separate console for the purpose
They could be considering releasing a cheaper TV-only version of their next system. People were asking for a Switch like that some time ago.
why release a cheaper tv version of the next system if they didn't release a cheaper tv version of the switch?
A Switch 2 Lite probably isn't viable right off the bat and might need a die shrink whereas a Switch 2 TV only model doesn't have the same thermal, battery, etc restrictions and would still give Nintendo a lower entry price model
yeah but nintendo already has a cheaper switch, the original switch
Yeah, but they're still going to want to move people over to the Switch 2 as fast as possible. If anything they can probably keep the Lite since games look less bad on the 720p handheld screen and then they can play up the upscaling in the TV only and Hybrid Switch 2s
naw, they want to keep milking the current switch as long as possible. the switch to switch 2 situation will be a lot like the ps4 to ps5.
they can just turn the Switch into the DS's replacement. That way they can keep support for the Switch while releasing system sellers like Zelda and the new 3D Mario on home console only
the Switch devkit looks like this. It really didn't have a screen the one you saw?
If it's just hardware in development, it's not remotely refined. It's just a series of loosely tossed together components. It wouldn't have gone through design/miniaturization yet. That's the last stop after hardware configuration. It would make sense for it to be enormous and look janky as frick.
Like others said, a devkit probably, they are usually way bigger than regular consoles.
>only weird thing about it is it had like 2 mouse scroll wheels next to the triggers.
This is the most interesting thing and it really sounds like a Nintendo thing. Who knows how this will be used
Maybe for selecting items in a game without having to pause and go into the inventory. Similar things were attempted on the ds/3ds and wii u and that could be a way of doing that without a second screen.
I'm curious about the scroll wheel
nintendo patented them a long time ago.
Yeah, looks like the thing OP saw
https://ga-m.com/n/nintendo-nx-controller-rotation/
he didn't see it. this has been common knowledge for a long time. he is just using it to add legitimacy to his bullshit story
feels pretty organic for bullshit. i believe OP.
It’d be pretty cool tho if they implement the scroll thingy.
I imagine you can do sniping with that shit
maybe if it also has some form of force feedback, that way they can also be used like normal analog triggers.
But it still has trigger buttons it we assume OP is right. I can also imagine it will replace bumper buttons, but it seems like they will be additional buttons apart from the current buttons
switch doesn't have analog triggers
for focusing the lens? yeah that would be cool
Yeah, most likely a TSA employee who's just having a giggle.
This sounds legit, Nintendo definitely puts English-speaking engineers on commercial flights with pre-release hardware.
NCL doesn't even tell NoA of release dates before the public half the time, you think they would give NoA "engineers" anything? Lol
I hate to say it but yes. japan is dying out. a lot of nintendo's new hires are gaijins, many of them Black folk. a lot of nintnendo's recent patents have been filled by noa employees
>only weird thing about it is it had like 2 mouse scroll wheels next to the triggers.
cool, nintendo has a patent for that, it's a good idea, makes selecting items easier, it would have freed up the Dpad in botw/totk and be much better for FPS
>Idk, the actual machine seemed about the size of an Xbox One or so
dev kits are typically big and ugly
Yeah, even if OP is legit, that's a dev kit. Here's your (you) for your effort.
> 2 mouse scroll wheels next to the triggers
If this ain’t fake, then it’s most likely Nintendo since they have a patent for that
I WANT TO BELIEVE GODDAMNIT. Likely fake and gay but i'll give you a bump because I'm feeling gay tonight.
OP is gay and this is fake but still better than twitter shit threads.
>two Switch2 devkit "leaks" on the same day
alright...
Bellydrum is a gay pedophile
OP did you get to check the Nintendo guys butt hole?
Anybody else want to say it was probably a dev kit?
Pitch me your idea for a Switch 2 game making use of 2 scroll wheels
It's finally the gimmick Miyamoto wants for a new F-Zero
a game where you place the scroll wheels on the wall and roll them around to explore inside the walls
in MP4. One wheel to switch between weapons and the other to switch between visors
sniper scope that can zoom with the scroll wheel? And weapon switching without opening a sub menu. There's a lot of possibilities.
Ganker Simulator. Explore the catalog with the patented Nintendo Scroll Wheel!
Probably when you use the scroll wheel something like this will appear on one side of the screen, depending on which wheel you use (but think only half a circle instead of a full circle)
I believe it.
scroll triggers would be based, been excited for them since the patent was revealed. Most likely a dev kit anon.
Quit violating my fourth amendment rights, you rent-a-cop wannabe.
No one is forcing you to travel by plane, you are consenting to this as a part of your privilege to do so
How do you get a TSA job anon
From my experience in airports you only need a sub 60 iq.
>the actual machine seemed about the size of an Xbox One or so, so it seems like Nintendo might be out of the portable console business
Blatantly fake.
>make new home console
>continue supporting switch and go back to one home console one portable console business strategy
Doesn’t seem out of the realm of possibility to me.
They spent the last 8 years unifying their home console and portable teams.
The reason behind going hybrid was that they couldn't support an HD system and 480p system at the same time. Now you're saying they're going to support 2 HD systems?
One of the reasons behind Switch's success is having all Nintendo games in one place.
The Nintendo chip found in data stolen from Nvidia is definitely a mobile chip.
Does OP work in Seattle? That might lend some more credence to his claims.
Once you get older and make friends that work at big companies you see how loose peoples lips are. I’ve heard rumors about games and services that nobody here would even care about. I believe a rentacop couldve seen a devkit.
This is the saddest attempt at a "leak" I've ever seen on this board
WAIT its 2023 hows Luigo still white? Thought its racist
